Great thing about Trezor wallet is that it is fully open source and anyone can make it on their own if they want.
One guy that made didn't want to spend extra money on Trezor Model T, so he made his own version with UBS-C connection.
He was inspired by this video: https://youtu.be/mZmv4wG6_PE
Still missing some plastic case as he don't have 3d printer atm.

I remember that another person did it several months ago, I do not advise the average user to do it because it may malfunction at any moment or may not install the parts of the steel safely.
The costs are not profitable so it is better to purchase them from the website rather than assemble them yourself.
In general, it sounds interesting, if I find time in the coming months, I will prepare one and upload a youtube vlog about it.

Check about costs:

Quote
$25.27 CAD for all the components from Digikey minus the screen, you can probably get everything for even cheaper if you go through LCSC but I'm not sure if they sell the microcontroller.

Screen can be stripped from modules on aliexpress, banggood, etc. for a few bucks each, or just the screen can be bought from LCSC for $3.66 CAD

Board cost is something like 2-5 USD for 5 boards from JLCPCB

There are people who are skilled at things like this, and it’s nice to see that it’s possible to make I guess a fully functional hardware wallet at home. It is a challenge, but it also gives a certain sense of satisfaction if one succeeds in the intention of doing something.

Since this model has USB-C, we can say that this is an even more advanced version of the Trezor One model - if he managed to fix a security flaw that allows hacking of the seed he could start mass production Cheesy

if he managed to fix a security flaw that allows hacking of the seed he could start mass production.

The latest T model already fixed that and its a great solution.  Nobody is going to get SEED from a T if SD protect is enabled and the SD card is handled correctly.  You can even place a "dummy" SD card in the slot with the wrong salt file making any adversary "chase their own tail" completely wasting time.  In addition; I have all my Trezors set with wipe PIN codes and the selected code would be one they for sure would try based upon any knowledge of who I am.
