I anticipated Brighton would present a challenge for Newcastle, and I insisted that they must play both defense and attacking at once. I am hoping Brighton does not tie the score since they are already ahead by one goal and the score is already 2:1. Newcastle has five attempts on target and is applying pressure on Brighton, who is resolute, but they were unable to fend Newcastle off in the end.
And now is full time already  with Newcastle  winning 4:1 wow thats a good revenge for Arsenal, Newcastle still maintains there position, next season is going to be hot am very sure of that.

Newcastle deserved the win. Watching them at the beginning of the season I knew that they got what it took to be top four this season and I have not been disappointed. And this success so far we owe in part to their manager Eddie Howe for doing such a fantastic job. Give them three years and they will be winning things certainly not with Eddie but what is happening right now is the seed being sown.

He brought in good players that have improved the quality of the play. I remember how almost last season they were in the relegation zone but see them now almost champion league material. They need more top players in their team and they must take advantage of the next transfer window.

Brighton has been exceptional this season, winning matches against supposed big premier league clubs but when facing a team like Newcastle, their chances of getting a point will definitely be very tough considering Newcastle's overall performance this season.
Eddie Howe's tactical approach this season has been top notch and with it has he driven his team to their current position in the league standings. Like I've said before now, Newcastle needs some vital summer signings to be a major contender for the premier league title come next season

Brighton after successfully beating Arsenal in the previous week but today they had to lose with a big score to Newcastle United. This defeat made Brighton fail to close the gap with Liverpool in the standings table. on the other hand the additional 3 points are quite important for newcastle united in maintaining the top 3 ranking.

Newcastle United managed to widen the gap with Manchester United and Liverpool this week so this week they will be comfortably ranked 3rd. We will see Manchester United match against Bournemouth tomorrow.  if erik can bring manchester united to win in this match then they can be quite safe in maintaining the top 4 ranking.

Brighton showed better improvement level under the new manager, with Potter they were good but with the new manager they have become even better and playing with determination and focus. Making top four was a more difficult task for them to achieve when Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United were top and Liverpool picking up momentum at the finishing stages of the season and Newcastle United firing in top form this season, Europa league spot has always been the height they can achieve.

With the condition of a team like them, I don't think their main goal is currently in that position because they are also aware that their qualifications are still below, but being able to trouble a big club that subscribes to the Champions League is of course very good. but in this game they are the same as they were against Everton. Their problem now is how to properly anticipate counterattacks because that has always been a scourge for Brighton.

As they consistently showed their superiority throughout the game Newcastle resounding victory was a welcome surprise. In contrast to Brighton who struggled to turn their possession based play into clear chances they displayed offensive flair and the capacity to create opportunities for goals. Brighton spent a lot of time on the ball but were only able to score one goal due to Newcastle strong defensive line effectively thwarting their chances. This result emphasises the significance of seizing opportunities rather than merely retaining possession. It is evidence of Newcastle deserving victory and their capacity to grab the occasion with their strong attacking play and tenacious defence.

Football is not about possession if you look at it from a more professional standpoint, but it’s about the points you’re able to get after a match. No one cares about the possessions but only the points is enough and to qualify you above your opponent. Brighton did play quite well and had more ball possession than Newcastle. But I give a thumbs up on the defense built by Newcastle. Even Brighton couldn't do much to penetrate the Newcastle defense. and in the final minutes the motivation of the Brighton players seemed to be dropping. and Newcastle scored 2 goals again in the last minute. And the final score of the match was 4-1 with a win at the hands of Newcastle. Newcastle really taught me that possession really isn't everything in football. but a solid defense is indeed something that every team needs to have if you don't want to lose. Brighton were too focused on breaking through the Newcastle defense and made mistakes in defence.

The moments when Newcastle scored the goals were perfect for them. The second goal in the fourth minute of extra time in the first half hurt Brighton a lot. Going into the break with being two goals down is never easy.

But as you pointed out Brighton had a lot more ball possession. The stats of this game are weird. While Brighton had 66% ball possession, Newcastle had 22 shots whereas Brighton only achieved to finish their attacks 8 times. Isn't this weird? With so much ball possession you would also think that Brighton a couple of more shots or shots on target, but no.

For Liverpool this win is bad news. They were hoping for Newcastle to fail in order to preserve their own chance to qualify for the Champions League somehow, but now it is all about Manchester United and how they will be doing.

In that match, even though Brighton controlled the game more throughout the match, Brighton's players only played more in the midfield. Because the defense that was shown by Newcastle was really successful in overwhelming Brighton. and while Newcastle were off guard made an excellent fast attack. And things like that keep happening. So that Newcastle had more chances in the match even though they only had a little possession. and yeah this is a weird thing. because usually the team that has more possession of the ball will definitely have more opportunities. but in fact Brighton did not have many chances in this match.

Well Liverpool now just have to expect Man Utd to drop points. Because Newcastle turned out to have added full points back and made Newcastle even stronger holding a ticket to the Champions League.

The ball possessions meant nothing when it will be facing a team that has a proper defensive line. Newcastle can be considered as one of team that was also having one of best defensive strategy. it has proven against brighton if counter attack is far effective rather than playing beatifully with big ball possession owned by the club. What a game from newcastle.

As you can see that how brighton was always feeling panic when newcastle was doing counter attack. It's caused by with the modern ball strategy that used by brighton and it was putting the defensive line on its weak position.

It's caused by the defenders must be also helping the midfielder to control the ball.

Newcastle has proven if modren ball is nothing in front of defensive strategy.

Newcastle are the favorites to win. and they showed their quality with an attack that was difficult for the Brighton defenders to counter. I think Newcastle learned from Brighton's game when they beat United and Arsenal. and they made a good strategy to beat Brighton. Wilson is a player who has shone quite a bit in the Newcastle United team this season. He has really found his best form this season because so far he has scored 18 goals and is ranked 5th as the top scorer for the time being.

Big win for the magpies as they swipe Brighton of their feet with a shocking performance at St. James' Park, an extreme hardwork put into practice by Eddie Howe, this time he means business, his club is heading to UCL race, they're one win away from qualifying for the champions league next season. With three points from Brighton, Newcastle United come closer to Champions League. They only need to win one more match to officially be eligible for Champions League and don't have to care about results of Liverpool in a last two matches.

They just won Brighton very impressively and shown that they really deserve to be one of representatives of Premier League in Champions League. They are just building their team and success in this season is an indicator that they can achieve something bigger in a next season. Hopefully in a next season, big clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool will reclaim their strength and competitiveness to make Premier League more exciting and competitive.

No doubt that Newcastle will finish in the 3rd place. They only have 2 matches left, against Leicester City and Chelsea. I believe Newcastle won't have a problem beating those teams, Newcastle is in good shape now. In the upcoming match, Newcastle will play at home against Leicester City. This should be an easy match for them, especially since playing at home will get an advantage for Newcastle. I am only a bit worried about the match against Chelsea, it will be the last match and it is an away match. This latest match seems harder than the match against Leicester City. However, I still believe that Newcastle will win the latest match, too.

Whenever you think they would lose, you see them playing their best and even win, sometimes you think they'd draw and you see something different all together, I so much love the energy they [Newcastle] brought to the game against Brighton. As for the Brighton side, they did poorly. Was expecting that drive they came with to Emirates stadium but no, they couldn't handle The Magpies in both halves.
I hope to see this same energy come next season in the UCL, talking about the Newcastle team.

Yeah. Newcastle has been securing full points from brighton. newcastle just only need to win another match to keep UCL ticket for the next season. Glad to see that the counter from de zerbi's strategy was fully defensive line strategy.

That puts whole of brighton's players frustated and panic at the same time once newcastle was launching the counter attack against it.

Zerbi needs to evaluate his modern football strategy which is only focusing in the ball possession but it's very weak when face a team that has strong defensive line like newcastle.

What a great game from eddie howe. Howe finally was able bringing newcastle to the UCL. Another match and then we will see newcastle on UCL next season.

Newcastle won an important victory to open up the opportunity to qualify for the Champions League next season, an additional three points made Newcastle firmly in third place in the EPL standings with 69 points from 36 matches. Newcastle only need three additional points from the last two matches to ensure a Champions League ticket. Brighton who came to St James' Park in high spirits after winning against Arsenal, meant nothing in front of Newcastle. The enthusiasm and beautiful game of the Newcastle players managed to keep Brighton from moving at St James' Park.
Next Newcastle will face Leicester City in match 37, three points are their target to secure their position in order to remain in the top four list of the standings as well as lead them to qualify for the Champions league after being acquired by new owners.
