Let's be honest, Liverpool's chances for the top 4 were very low from the start, they had a bad season and only towards the end they started to show the football we are used to. Aston Villa managed to press in the first half to score a goal but they continued this team defended while Liverpool were still having trouble finding opportunities but in the end Robert Firmino was able to save Liverpool by sharing points over Aston Villa and of course buried their hopes for the Champions League.

It looks like the fight for the Champions League zone has ended, the ticket rations definitely belong to Newcastle and Manchester United. Liverpool have struggled and indeed this season has not been easy for them. In my opinion, the Reds fans should be grateful for a draw that was achieved with great difficulty. DeGea sometimes do have some bad day in the office but he's a great keeper and no one can take that from him. He made some couple of great saves to ensure that Manchester United goes home with 3 point in today's game. Casemiro handled the midfield role very well and also found the back of the net to give united the lead. Two players that had a really poor outing are Martial and Sancho. The Duo really need to up their game, ETH was right to sub Martial and bring in Weghorst to help in marking since he wasn't doing that either. Sancho has never been consistent, he's just a shadow of himself.

Firmino has saved his club from defeat with an equaliser goal on the 80th minutes. He scored his last goal for Liverpool before his departure from the club. Liverpool to dominance of the game at Anfield and played brilliantly but it has a hard luck day for them as they lost so many opportunities which would have being converted to a goal. I had two wishes when the English Premier League title race heated up after the world cup. My wishes were;

• Arsenal should win the English Premier League title race
• My second wish was for Newcastle to make top 4 and go to Champions league because they really worked for it.
