But the closer the final stages are, the fiercer the fight becomes and in fact the best clubs always take the title - if you look at history, there are almost all the winners from the Premier League, and the first three in terms of the number of trophies are Liverpool - City - United.

They need a change of mindset and they equally need to change their mentality to a winning mentality.
It is not all about having good players and good coach. What is the vision of the club? The next two matches is not difficult for them to win, but I am not so sure that they are going to get six points from these two matches because of their inconsistency . The coach rested quality talisman ahead of the premier league and europa league competitions coming up and they failed to live up to expectations. The likes of richardlison, perisici and le ceslo could only score a goal agaisnt a fulham b side.

Poor squad depth = poor performances in cup competitions and at the latter stages of the season.

Basically Tottenham have better quality than Fulham and moreover, Tottenham only failed in the penalty shootout. That way, the consideration is no longer about the depth of the squad, because if you judge the depth of the squad it is only limited to the normal game for 90 minutes and not in the penalty shootout. So, because Tottenham failed in the penalty shootout against Fulham which basically, Fulham's quality is below Tottenham. Then of course, it seems true that Tottenham's defeat can be said to be a curse too.

I think we should look into the matter. Coach Ange Postecoglou kept Son Heung-min, James Maddison, and Dejan Kulusevski on the bench, replacing the B team for this match. He was too subjective when doing that. It wasn't until near the end of the second half that Postecoglou brought important players onto the field to score more goals, but it was ineffective. It continues to astound me how championship and league one clubs are outperforming EPL clubs; on the contrary, I am convinced that an EPL club will win the trophy. Why is it extremely difficult for English Premier League clubs to win league one and championship sides? It's simply because the favorite EPL clubs in question are clearly ordinary clubs, with only a few high standards due to the league. To be more specific, EPL clubs are apprehensive in their games, pointing out how they underestimate clubs and cause their demise in the process.

Tottenham Hotspur's Caraboa Cup defeat yesterday has nothing to do being cursed or not rather it was as a result of the managers decision to underrate the power of their opponents by benching club's best players which in returned caused them to be eliminated from the competition.
I think it is too early time of the season to rest the club's players in order to save them some energy ahead of other competitive games they're gonna be in action. The defeat I think will serve as a lesson to other English Premier League clubs

I didn't see it straight away but it's bad enough for Tottenham. It seems that they are starting to feel the loss of a Hary Kane. Richarlison has not been able to replace Kane's role well. Son Heun Ming also came in from the reserves. Although it is not a prestigious trophy, it failed in the early period, they should immediately conduct an evaluation. Although Tottenham are a little lucky, they have less schedule.

Not only Son Heung Min who came off the bench but also James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski. Maybe Spurs weren't too serious about this EFL match against Fulham and even though Richarlison contributed enough by scoring 1 goal, the defeat via penalty shootout was very unpredictable. I think there are a few reasons for that. The Carabao Cup isn't very high on the priority list for most of the Premier League clubs and I think that is understandable. If they have to choose between a full and healthy line-up for a Premier League game or a Carabao Cup game, it will be the Premier League game for sure. That's why they often rotate players in and out and the players themselves are also holding back I guess as nobody wants to risk missing the important games of the season.

I also don't think that the results listed here are so shocking. Fulham vs. Tottenham makes sense. Plymouth vs. Crystal Palace as well. Swansea vs. Bournemouth is not shocking either. Then there is one outlier with Brentford, but for an underdog to make it to the penalties is also not that unusual.

I know Arsenal would definitely pick up on the long run but I'm more worried about Manchester united because the team looks confused and unbalanced at the moment there are several areas that still needs strengthening and some few players that ain't performing needs to leave for better players to come in, but they're not really impressive in the transfer window they look settled with the few players they've got and so far it's not helping because Mason Mount who they got for about £65m is underperforming and has sustained an injury making the midfield to be left without better options to replace him.
 They're supposed to have finalised the deal with Fiorentina for Amrabat and also try to offload McTomminay and Maguire both I don't know the challenges they're facing that's making hard for United to offload unwanted players every season, what i feel is that a change of ownership would be really okay to atleast try taking the club that to it's glory days but the present owners,  Glaziers are still stalling on a deal to sell the club or even mention a preferred bidder.

Agree with you, playing against Arsenal with the remaining squad is quite a difficult match, but however, this incident will provide a big note that Man United is not maximizing their opportunities in the transfer market well. Liverpool have risen this season, we can see their impressive performance at the start of the season which indicates that Jürgen Klopp's team is better than last season, and I have no doubt that they will be a strong challenger for the Premier League title this season.

I appreciate this view about Liverpool, just like I wrote yesterday, they are better than they even look and time will tell more about them. There is no club without their challenging times but I believe they are getting out of it and are surely one of the good contenders this time. They started doing better before the end of last season and I could see that Klopp has made some adjustments this time as well. And before the window closes, WilFriend Ndidi might be added as well, and if the guy performs as expected, it will be a very good strength for the centre defence.

But for Mohamed Salah, I hope his departure will not be a problem. The rumour and unconfirmed news is that he will be leaving latest by next week for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia. The undisclosed amount offered to him was claimed to be irresistible. And he's a guy who has achieved a lot already, so going to SPL at age 31 will not be a mistake again. Who knows when he's planning to retire?

Some of these mistakes are not even referees alone, the VAR board is always equipped with experience Referees that they have the right to tell the referee to go watch the screen or better still they tell him outrightly what the decision is because they have that liberty to do so. One thing I see is English referees are just shit and are causing too much problems in the beauty of the game. Against Wolves Manchester United were crucified by the referees bad decision and the most disappointing part is where does referee had to apologize to the Wolves club. If you were sure that they deserved it then award it not going and sending out apologies because almost everyone will demand it and what importance is that when the points can’t be returned.

I Also see bitter fans saying only Manchester united use to be favoured, it’s a lie almost every club one time or the other have been at the good side of a bad officiating. Manchester United was awarded the list penalties last season. The sending off of Casemiro on wrong decision is also something again, so let’s not just pick out a team for the occurring bad decisions but rather strife for them to change. This  constant mistakes is why English referees are not given important matches in Europe elite competitions

I have to admit it too, and I think it's a secret that most people generally know. I sometimes find some referees very annoying due to some controversial decisions, but as has been said, it is completely useless once the game is over. The coach even expressed some opinions about them in the interview session after the match, but that won't change anything unless there is an investigation into it.

Do you remember in the Europa League final last season, Mourinho was so angry with the referee who led the match and chased the referee into the parking lot after the match was over. That's also pointless, even if some decisions are highly controversial.

Just because EPL club is higher division doesn't mean they can easily win against lower division clubs. That is also being affecting by so many factors. I remind you that we have something called as luck. The lower divison should not also be underrated. Eleven players participate in football, but the skills of lower division players are unpredictable. Even the big club can also lose against the small clubs. In fact, the chance owned by EPL club is far bigger compared with lower divison club due to the EPL club had more experiences compared with the lower division club. I think that even small club can have some good players with good individual skill. It makes the big club sometimes feeling struggle to beat it. The result is still remain very hard to predict as luck is also playing as one of important factor in this case.

Eleven players participate in football, but the skills of lower division players are unpredictable. Even the big club can also lose against the small clubs. In fact, the chance owned by EPL club is far bigger compared with lower divison club due to the EPL club had more experiences compared with the lower division club. I think that even small club can have some good players with good individual skill. It makes the big club sometimes feeling struggle to beat it. The result is still remain very hard to predict as luck is also playing as one of important factor in this case.  

Yeah of course anything can happen in a match, besides the luck factor there are also other factors for example a strong team will not play its main squad usually the coach will give opportunities to second-tier players to increase their game play another reason to avoid the risk of injury to the main players what is clear is that the coach will prioritize other competitions. Sometimes the mainstay player will be played in the second half or before last minute or even at crucial moments.

My take; why do you think the premier league sides struggled so much against league one and championship clubsideS?

It remained without meaning. The EPL clubs mostly won carabao. I did not see a club that was struggling against the championship club. There has no chance for the lower divison club to win it. You just count some weak clubs in EPL but when it comes to the big clubs with so many world class players.

They were only seeing low division clubs as toys to play with. In my opinion, facing lower division clubs is comparable to training sessions for EPL clubs.

The only strongest club that can compete in EPL. You can call that sometimes EPL club might be struggling, but that was only happening with some weak clubs. The big clubs will always be dominating this competition.

I feel Tottenham were knocked out due to over confidence over the fact that they had won two of their games and expected that they could do same to Fulham. Or , they don't really value the Carabao Cup and are more focused on winning the EPL (hopefully). But then again, they've not been really lucky in previous years, having close calls but later being removed. At least this one they have been knocked out by Fulham has cancelled their hopes( if any) of winning since the last time they lifted it up was in 2008.
