Basically from the beginning I was also sure that Chelsea would not be able to catch up with Liverpool, because Enzo Maresca emphasized that he was not chasing trophies but rather focused on team development. On the other hand, Newcastle is having a a great time recently. This was their forth consecutive win and they move up on the fifth position. In this match, the scored both goals in the first half and then defended well till full time.

I couldn't believe the result until I saw the result from Newcastle. We know Newcastle is not a weak team and they can be in the top side of the Premier League because of the players and the coaches they have got in this team but still, Newcastle could never beat a team like Manchester United in a normal situation.
Since Manchester United got a new coach I was expecting to see Amorim get Manchester United to improve a lot and help them to have better performance but still, even after getting Ten Hag fired from Manchester United, they were not having good times and Manchester United ended the year with a bad result as last game of this year against Newcastle.

In fact, I personally am quite sure that Liverpool will actually get the title this season. Meanwhile, the teams currently struggling, I think they will only fight for tickets to the UCL. And maybe Chelsea have run out of energy at the moment. And they need to step back a bit to take some steam back. But I hope they don't slump like Man United which is very sad at the moment. Chelsea has struggled well with its young players. So even though they didn't succeed this season in winning the title, I think they will get better in the next season. Because the advantage of teams that have young players is that they will increasingly have players who continue to grow towards higher quality as time goes by.

I was never really impressed with Chelsea though, not even when they were winning games. I wasn't impressed because if you look at the games they won, they didn't play any formidable team. The only teams that you could argue are formidable are Tottenham and Newcastle which were not so in form at the time. Despite how poor Manchester City has been, Chelsea are just points ahead of them.

I know that the team has a lot of potential but I believe the fans are getting ahead of themselves. When I watch Chelsea play they don't convince me as a team that can go toe to toe with top in-form teams in Europe. I believe they should take it slow, strengthen areas that need strengthening and get rid of dead weights.
