Mohamed Salah: Liverpool star signs two-year contract extension

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has signed a new contract at Anfield, ending a monthslong saga over the Egypt international's future with the Merseyside club.

Salah, whose previous deal was set to expire this summer, had repeatedly suggested that this could be his final season at Liverpool. However, the 32-year-old has now committed himself to Arne Slot's side, signing a two-year deal that will keep him at the club until at least 2027.

Discussions have been taking place for several months, with sporting director Richard Hughes overseeing negotiations with Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas Issa. Recent reports had suggested Salah -- who is Liverpool's highest-paid player -- had agreed to reduce his salary in order to remain at Anfield; however, a source told ESPN that a pay cut was never on the agenda for either party.

Actually Newcastle do not really have to win all of their remaining games to be at the fourth position moreover the fifth position currently isn't a bad one and so I don't think they will even have to struggle so hard because finishing at either position still qualifies them for the champions league next season, they don't need that very top four finishing except they are targeting the premier league title which ofcourse is too late to aim at then they will need to win all of their remaining games. Even Manchester City and Chelsea will now have to ease up with the struggle seeing that they can still secure a UCL spot from the fifth position on the table.

It's shocking that this is happening this season, Nottingham forest used to be below tenth position almost every football season but now they are the third on the table...if they had won some of their matches that ended as a draw or loss they would have given arsenal a very tough time.. Manchester city are not putting in any effort to climb to the top this season, Chelsea are far better than them but they have had some lapses..like you said the first three positions are settled except if the blues can outdo Nottingham forest which is almost too late at this point

In fact every season we see that different teams perform differently, for example Madrid and Liverpool had the potential to achieve a lot in this season's Champions League but they couldn't adapt to that potential situation.

According to the Premier League continuity, we can now say that the Nottingham Forest will play in the Champions League next season. I don't know if these guys can get the job done, talking about Arsenal who haven't taken that chance of locking this point gap between them and the Reds and even topping the league table. For now we have 11pts that's separating those two teams but can Arsenal start gathering point whenever Liverpool lose or draw a game because that is the only chance they have and winning is a must, like Arteta need to urge the boys to use that same energy they are using in the champions league and apply it to every remaining game they play in the EPL, that would make them see a better picture of becoming champions and also chasing what some players in the past could not get and that's the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TITLE.

I also want to correct your statement, if Man United wins in the UEL there will be no reduction in teams qualifying for the Champions League zone so it will remain 6 teams. So 7 EPL teams may be impossible, but for 6 teams the chances are still very big.
