Sometimes, in football, we can't predict what will happen. In today's match, if I had been told that Southampton would be able to draw against Manchester City, I would have fully denied it. I would have said that the person did not know anything or that they were not following the match, because I believe Manchester City is far better than Southampton and has everything needed to win the match. But surprisingly, the game ended in a draw, which nobody was expecting.

I would say that this is even a moment when Manchester City needed the match most, but despite all their efforts, they still ended the match with just one point. As for the Southampton team, I don't know why they played so seriously, even when they have already been relegated. Maybe they just wanted to have a good record against Manchester City. If that is the case, they should have played like this against other teams instead of relying on defensive tactics. If they had, they might not have ended up relegated.This is how they always play against big teams whenever they are relegated. It’s similar to how they played against Arsenal last season when they were also relegated. The funny thing about Southampton is that they were only able to gather 12 points out of 36 matches played it is really very bad.

So true, sometimes we really can't predict what will happen in football despite how good a particular side is and how poor or bad the other side is. It's always 90 minutes that's the deciding factor. Who would have imagined that Manchester will not win this match let alone think that they wouldn't score at least one goal. Domination upon dominance yet they failed to break through the defence throughout 90 minutes. Lots of coupons is already gone due to this very game. Even me, I have lost two different coupons just because of this game. 0 - 0 who would have actually predicted this score line!

I am almost doubting Arsenal's resolve to end in the second place in the EPL standings this season. Liverpool may have won the league already but they wouldn't want to lose another game in a row after losing to Chelsea last weekend, so at least they will want to settle for a draw against Arsenal. This score line is somehow funny and surprising to me. While I was hoping that Manchester City will escape the competition in the top five by winning convincingly today against Southampton they rather decided to share points, now Manchester City is still in probability.

Why I said this is funny is that Southampton who is already relegated held Manchester City to a goalless draw. Like, what are they now actually fighting for? This match has shown me that there's no match fixing in EPL, if not, it could be a easy task in the above match.

I personally still believe Manchester City can win this match, even though City seem to have difficulty breaking through the Southampton defense to create goals, but the opportunity is always open, just waiting for the right momentum to execute. besides that, Southampton are tough enough to be able to withstand strong and fast attacks from Manchester City, as we know Southampton have performed very badly this season, based on statistics they are ranked bottom.

It cannot be imagined that a draw will be obtained from this match, even the worst possibility of defeat that Manchester City might experience, this will make things even worse, because this is a good opportunity to add 3 valuable points for Manchester City.

The match has just ended with Manchester City dropping two valuable points in my opinion, this is certainly a big blow to them and a huge twist in the race for the top four. Dropping this points means they have to win their remaining matches which is luckily against Bournemouth and Fulham, ideally I would have actually expected them to win this games considering their recent form but the game today shows that something can still happen, I hope they don’t actually take this form to the FA cup final against Crystal Palace next weekend because it is there only source of getting a trophy this season.
They are still in third place on the table and just two points above Chelsea and Newcastle who both play against each other tomorrow and four points ahead of Nottingham Forest, they wouldn’t be dropping off the top five this weekend but if Nottingham Forest wins then the competition will be back on  

I expected Manchester City to win Southampton today but unfortunately, they could only get a draw which will make their stay in the third position a little shaky because anyone who wins between Newcastle and Chelsea will move to the third position while Manchester City will fall back to the fourth position though i don't think they will be threatened. Manchester City played reluctantly against Southampton and the match couldn't produce a single goal which made the game so boring to watch but i just feel the reason why they didn't take the match serious was due to early preparations against their FA Cup final match against Crystal Palace next weekend but regardless that they lost 2 points today but they can improve in their upcoming Premier League games and solidify their aim for a Champions League spot next season. Manchester City's next two Premier League opponents which are Bournemouth and Fulham won't be difficult for them to win and even if they are able to win just one among the two teams, they will qualify for next season's Champions League. Nottingham Forest can still have a chance of climbing to the top 5 if Chelsea or Newcastle wins tomorrow and Nottingham Forest win their match against Leicester City, so they should not lose hope in the fight for a Champions League participation next season.

The comeback of Haaland from his injury give no changes to the squad. They obviously lack of quality in players and without creativity. Things are not going their way, and missed important points against worst club in PL is just a disaster. They showed poor performance and bad build up whole game.
They're just simply allergic to counter attacking their opponent.

Man City completely dominated the match even though they were playing as guests. It's just a shame that none of the many opportunities they got could be converted into goals, and it seems they really missed out on clinical finishing. Luckily, they still got 1 point because at least they didn't get knocked out of the top 5 this week. If Newcastle draws against Chelsea, then Man City will remain in third place, but if either side wins the match, then Man City will drop to 4th place.

From this match, it can be seen that Man City is still inconsistent. I think they could lose the opportunity to play in the Champions League if they do not get maximum results in the remaining two matches.

Yeah this is beyond our predictions, when we thought Manchester City would play aggressively because they wanted to secure a spot in the champions league but the fact is Man City missed it, luckily this draw doesn't have much impact on their position in the standings. What makes me wonder is why it is so difficult to beat Southampton who have no targets anymore while we know Man City are on fire with a winning streak lately, imagine Man City fired 26 shots throughout the match but no goals lol.

By the way we still have one match today Bournemouth vs Aston Villa, here Aston Villa are still aiming for points to catch up Nottingham these two teams are competing for a ticket to the Europa League next season, Aston Villa must take advantage of Nottingham's poor performance lately only 1 win from the last 5 matches. If Aston Villa win then they will be in 6th position .

If at the end of this season and Arsenal failed to end it at the second position in the EPL it would be more disappointing that after all the best shows they gave all through the season in all competitions they still couldn't end hold it next to the league champions. It won't be like Manchester city had the worst season because for any team to end in second place after going through all the losses City had and still had to end in second place then they would be better off than an Arsenal team that may end in third place. I hope that doesn't happen eventually.

With the force Manchester City were using to win their matches lately in the Premier League and with how Arsenal were struggling to win their matches in the Premier League lately because of their quarter final and semi final matches in the UEFA Champions League, I thought Manchester City would overtake Arsenal in second place in the Premier League table, but with the draw Manchester City played with Southampton today, I don't see Manchester City overtaking Arsenal in the Premier League table.

Wolverhampton lost 2-0 at home to Brighton.We can say that Wolverhampton put in a better performance but they were not effective in front of goal today.Brighton, on the other hand, did not have much purpose but managed to increase their points to 55 by winning this away game.
Bournemouth, who haven't lost for 5 weeks, couldn't win at home against Aston Villa.Aston Villa took the lead with Ollie Watkins towards the end of the first half and managed to win the match with this goal.Aston villa increased their points to 63 with this win and managed to get ahead of Nottingham Forest with more than a match.

Since this match ended till now, I have been asking myself why Southampton have not put this kind of performance that earned them a draw with Manchester City today, perhaps they would have escaped their relegation to the English Championship. On the part of Manchester City,  I will say that they are gambling with their chances of not qualifying for the hotly contested Champions League spot. It is now certain that either of Tottenham and Manchester United will take one spot so the only available slot is being contested by Manchester City,  Chelsea and Newcastle.  This is the reason Manchester City never needed this draw.
