Injury, lack of quality attacker also played a role to their inconsistency last season, their key player Saka was injured, Ødegaard lost form due to fatigue and Arteta had to test several players in the top 9 position as false 9 so all those stuffs contributed to their failure in winning the league, well I expect something better this season since they've got a top 9, signed additional players in strategic position to increase their depth and also signed a keeper as support incase of rotation due to several competitions they're participating in, this time around Arteta won't have any excuse and failure to win a trophy would mean that he's not the right man for the club, they can't keep ending as runners up without trophies.

Arsenal are very good at breaking hearts, there second name is inconsistency but there is something I have observed about them. I'm not sure if it's the effort they put in playing from the beginning of the season, it's towards the end of the season or in the middle they do lack this consistency, they don't do it in the beginning, they usually stand toe to toe with any team or even sometime be at the top of the table until they begin to fall down.

What I observed during this period is injuries, if happened last two seasons and it's happened this season that just pass again. However, I have notice they came loaded with this season with different players, I believe they are going to have sufficient players enough to lead them to the promise land. Gabriel has been a failure for them, maybe Gyokores will patch that place and even do better than this before. Arsenal really deserved a the trophy now or never.

Inconsistency in what way exactly? I don't quite get your statement well or may be I am misinterpreting it. Arsenal have not been good enough to keep their top performance from the beginning till the end but to me they are one of the most consistent team in the league in recent years always finishing second place and maintaining it every year is something. They consistency is not in performance like Chelsea, Manchester United and others but they fail to be champions one way or another.
I believe why lose matches they are not supposed to lose is because they didn't have a prolific striker. There are match your striker wins for you singlehandedly and that's what Arsenal lacks all these years, I just hope Gyokeres will finally help solve that problem.

It is very obvious you are one bias football fan. Being sentimental all the time is not right, sometime say the truth. Arsenal have been this close in winning trophies, they only missed little details over the years but this summer they try to fill in those details.

Arsenal has really been disappointing tho in terms of winning major trophies since Mikel Arteta had to handle the team it had always been a "this close" to winning trophy phenomenon.
