The pressure is mounting on Liverpool considering that Tottenham Hotspur have gotten a goal and would have come close to getting yet another one through Richarlison and now it seems that with the blow to Jeremy Frimpong he has now been substituted even though he came in as a result of Isak getting a knock and all I can say is that Liverpool and Slot are now clueless. It would be a big blow should Tottenham equalize since they are two men down now.

It's only temporary for City to occupy first place because Arsenal haven't yet faced Everton, and they'll likely win that match, given Everton's less-than-impressive performance. So, Arsenal could very well retake the top spot after that match.
And I quite agree with your statement about Manchester City's impressive performance. Their performance wasn't that impressive at the start of the season, but as the season progressed, they showed increasing consistency, and they're now on a five-game winning streak in the Premier League.
I have a feeling that Manchester City might just take over the top spot soon if their performance continues like this.

Manchester City have found their rhythm and the other title contenders will be looking at them and worried about how consistent they have been in the last couple of seasons. If City find their flow, then they can be impossible to stop. They do not even have to be top of the table at this point in the season, what they do is stay close enough to the top and when it gets to the run-in, they go on unstoppable winning runs, that culminate in them winning the title.

What is the guarantee that any team would maintain any sort of form they have? Nobody guarantees you anything, particularly in the EPL. But recent history tells me that City are city are a winning machine. They have the champions mentality and character and when it comes to a title charge, they have it in their DNA to come out on top.

That said, i'd be watching Everton v Arsenal pretty closely, hoping for an upset. I strongly believe Everton can pull one off tonight, though i could turn out to be completely wrong.

Two red cards could hurt Tottenham not only in this match but also in the next one. Actually, it was a very unnecessary mistake. Getting an additional red card when the team was already behind in goals felt like a double defeat in this match for Tottenham.
Liverpool really managed to take advantage of the situation well. Although Tottenham almost managed to equalize the score, Liverpool won the match as expected.

The next match that will be crucial is Everton vs. Arsenal. Everton is actually a team that often causes Arsenal trouble. However, with Arteta's squad depth, I think Arsenal will win this match with more than two goals scored.

Chelsea team is losing 3 points today against their opponent Newcastle, Newcastle is already 2 goals ahead after attacking strongly in their first game. Chelsea is a strong team but they are not able to attack successfully and are failing to respond, if they lose this match then they will lose points.
Chelsea team's performance must improve in the second half otherwise it will be difficult for them to maintain the high position of the points table again this season. Since Chelsea is still two goals behind, it seems very challenging for them to win. Newcastle is attacking very strongly and they are playing with a very confident attitude. Anyway, there is a lot of excitement between the two teams in this match and both teams will become stronger in the second half.

The Chelsea team is a team which has a reputation among the good teams. Chelsea has a strong club and is also dedicated to having the best and they need to maintain their position as a good team. Newcastle will face the team Chelsea in their next match and they will put their efforts to do their best and make the match in their court. But it is necessary for Chelsea to beat the Newcastle because if the team Chelsea will not manage to have this match in their favour then it will be problematic for them.  And their decline in the performance will result in the loss of the match and this drops their points too. And I think Chelsea is not in the position that they can bear the decrease of their points. The situation is turning into a suspense due to the team's weak attack line.

Chelsea obviously have a sufficient quality. The real question is whether Maresca will stop the experimenting in crucial matches. If he learns from this and just plays people in their natural positions then Chelsea will be fine. But if he keeps reinventing the wheel every week, dropping points is a habit.



The Newcastle match already happened, and actually tells us something way more interesting than just "weak attack". I see what you are saying there about Chelsea needing to secure their place but that game is the better evidence of what's really going on.

It wasn't as if Chelsea couldn't score because they recovered from 2-0 down at St. James' Park - where they'd been hammered on their last two visits. The trouble was that Maresca was thinking too hard. After the Cardiff match he benched Enzo Fernandez (probably for disciplinary purposes), and then tried to make a hybrid midfielder out of Reece James. For the first half it was a disaster: Chelsea had all the possession, but it went nowhere - just sideways passing as Newcastle sat back and waited to counter.

Everything changed when Maresca finally managed to correct it by halftime and put James back at right-back. Credit where it's due: suddenly Chelsea had defensive solidity and creativity going forward. The second half was a total one sideder in their favour. Newcastle was just gassed, they just couldn't press, you can see the fear creeping in because they've been blowing leads all season.

This is the time for Arteta to prioritise one title and win it instead to lose everything. He should focus more in the champions league because it seems to me easier to win than the English Premier league.

The Champions League and Premier League title, no one is easy for Arsenal to consider winning than the other. Arteta will gat to face each of them with his full might, like it is Arsenal's last game to show that Arsenal is still in their best form to a win title this season. It could be the Premier League or the Champions League.
Arsenal is not in its bad form currently, to begin to have less hope on them. They can win most of their matches, bad as it is, they draw. But not to lose any of their crucial match as it stands, it will be difficult.

That being said, I still have faith in Arsenal that this season will be a good one they will celebrate with a title.

Ekitike came and hit the ground running almost immediately. While there was so much expectations on Isak and Wirtz, Ekitike who is considered less talented and over priced began to deliver for Liverpool as soon as he was signed. As Ekitike started to deliver, I thought that  Liverpool will reduce their interest in Isak but they didn't, but only for them to get him ineffective for now.

Ekitike deserves his flowers and it should be given to him. I am waiting to see how he will align with and without Salah. As far as I am concerned, all these new signings, non has gotten his place in Liverpool.

I think I can feel calm about one of the matches, namely Everton vs. Arsenal, because Arsenal has managed to take a 1-goal lead, albeit from a penalty kick. I am hoping on them again this season because they have more squad then Manchester City and Liverpool.

I agree. Tottenham made it as uncomfortable as possible for Liverpool — no control, no rhythm, just constant pressure. Even with a red card they stayed in the fight, and that chaos actually suited them. The big issue was discipline: two really unnecessary red cards, and it easily could’ve been more. In the end, there wasn’t much football, but that’s exactly why this win is so important for Liverpool. They survived a proper battle.

Newcastle failed to win against Chelsea at home. Although they closed the first half 2-0 ahead with a goal from Woltemade, they conceded goals in the second half and ended the match with a 2-2 draw. We can say that both teams were very eager to win the match, but unfortunately they shared the points at the end.
No winner emerged in the clash between two struggling teams. Burnley drew 1-1 away against Bournemouth. We can say that Bournemouth played with more pressure and were more eager to score, but they just couldn't find the winning goal today.

I didn't expect Newcastle to end the game in a draw because they had 2 goals advantage in the first half and being the home team I expected them to be able to prevent Chelsea from scoring 2 goals and leveling things up. It was an interesting game and a very competitive game and even though I expected Chelsea to win because of Newcastle inconsistency they did well to equalize and get a point at least.
The premier is just a crazy league where it's difficult to predict winners of games no matter how small the opponent is, we have seen how Wolves that is in the relegation zone gave league leaders Arsenal tough time. Bournemouth were able to hold Manchester United but couldn't win against Burnley that's crazy but it's not surprising.

Sometimes with the purchase of expensive players does not guarantee anything there are often players who fail like this, maybe Wirtz has not found confidence playing at Liverpool because the competition there is tight with players as well as Isak where last season was on fire with Newcastle after going to Liverpool the game declined.
It does not rule out the possibility that next season they will be better and they had a bad first season, there is still hope to rise despite many criticizing them.

I didn't see the game, but judging by the statistics and replay, Liverpool may have got the three points, but in my opinion they lost the match. To have such difficulties against a team with a red card when you're the favourites is really not a good performance.

The second red card in the 93rd minute was the coup de grace. Otherwise, Tottenham might even have managed a draw.

Self-confidence can affect players, it can be aimed at Isak and Wirtz at this time who have poor performance, because pessimistic decision-making on the field will make him hesitate and it is better to give it to others than to be executed by himself, it is a disease, as a striker should have high confidence than other players to execute and carry the ball with confidence to pierce the enemy's defense.

There is always time to change and get better on the pitch, as long as he is willing to change Wirtz will perform better, it's just a mental problem I guess.

I don't think that Tottenham losing to Liverpool currently has due to the ten men that they have due to an early Red card. From the beginning of the game Liverpool has been the better side , even though the red card impacted on them negatively I still believe that Liverpool would have won this game even without a red car to Tottenham. The truth is that Tottenham has not yet gotten it right as they are still struggling to maintain a stable form from the start of the season.

That's not true, it is obvious that the red card contribute to their losing and the funniest part is even with the red card Tottenham still possessed I never believed Liverpool could give them the chance to score 1 even with two man down that is to show that the red card really affect them. Had it mean they played with full squad Liverpool would have begged for wining today but the red card just make things very easy for them which they still struggled even with the red card and if not for the opportunities missed by Tottenham in the last minute this match would have likely end with draw.

Arsenal are winning with a goal lead but they return the ball back to their own half under several occasions that would have counted for a proper attack. The confidence in today's attack from Arsenal isn't the usual, kind of dull attacking play, if they suit up in the second half, Arsenal are likely to score more goals.

I also observed Everton are attacking from one side of their forward, Arsenal already understands the pattern of play and it doesn't seem to help them. It's a long 45 minutes again, Everton can make up some numbers but it's less likely of them with their current attacking strategy.

It was humiliating to see that even with Tottenham down to just 10 men from the 33rd minute of the first half, Liverpool couldn't secure a convincing victory and had to concede a goal, even playing against an opponent with only 10 players on the pitch. Imagine if Tottenham had had 11 players until the end of the game; it would most likely have been a draw. Unfortunately, Liverpool is still far from being a perfect team.
