Chelsea finished in 10th place. Chelsea didn't even qualify for the Conference League. Liverpool finished in 5th place and will go to the Champions League, and even if Liverpool had finished in 5th place and not qualified for the Champions League, they would still have gone to the Europa League. So based on that, it's easy to say that Liverpool did much better than Chelsea. Liverpool finished the season with 60 points. Chelsea was a disaster; they only managed 52 points. It's a big fact that, considering the high investment Chelsea made in their squad, they were the biggest failure in the Premier League in my opinion.

I think both teams underperformed. We often see champions struggle the following season. This didn't happen much in the Premier League because City has built a big dynasty in recent years. But I think everyone saw Liverpool's decline coming this season. Chelsea weren't doing too bad early in the season but they lost 6 in a row in March and April. That caused them to fall behind.

As for the season's losers, we can count Chelsea and Tottenham. At least Liverpool secured a Champions League spot again. The season's winners aside from Arsenal were Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Brighton and Sunderland. I think we can add Brentford as well, as they'll play in the Conference League qualifiers. These teams exceeded expectations. Premier League is really the best football league in the world.

Chelsea actually underperformed far below expectation and it was unfortunate for than because their woes actually started when there were few games to the end of the season and they just didn't had time to recover and get back to the top top five places as Liverpool did after a poor season start.
But if we're to consider what was invested into the two clubs this season I think Liverpool invested far more than Chelsea in the transfer windows. However, I am even glad that Chelsea didn't make it to any of the European competitions, perhaps just like Manchester United they would now have time to concentrate on the team building as they would only be participating in domestic competitions.

The fans shouldn't expect too much from him when the results doesn't go the way they planned because his still on the building stage. I believe Carrick will do great things for Manchester United if the board supports him by giving him total control of who comes and goes out of the team, give him the funds to buy his choice players. Carrick will rebuild Manchester United if his given the patience from fans and owner, money to purchase and freedom to have his own squad without any external interference.

With the way Manchester United performed in the season that just ended under the coaching of Carrick, it's evident that the coming season will be very hot.
Considering the time Amorim was sacked and Carrick replaced him, and seeing that Manchester United still managed to end the season in the 3rd place in the EPL table, I have a very strong conviction that come next season, Manchester United will likely contend for the Premier league title and their chances of winning will be very high if their performance still under Carrick will be as good as it was this season.

And speaking of the Manchester United management handing over certain important decision over to Carrick to make, well, it all depends on how the club management trusts him, and it's also based on his performance.
In the short term, Carrick has shown how good and worthy he is to coach the Manchester United team, now it's left for the management to hand over to Carrick now or still wait and see how he performs in the coming season.

Despite the fact that chelsea's squad was quite strong, their performance was weak. Chelsea spent  330 million+ on buying players this season. This is a very big amount. Anyway, chelsea was able to earn about 280 million by selling players. Even then, despite spending such a huge amount, we have not  seen any improvement in chelsea's performance. Last season , chelsea was in  fourth place in the table, but this season their position is in tenth place.

Bruno Fernandes has truly created a masterpiece, it is not possible that a single player can be so impactful for a team, which has done everything to try to get as far as possible, clearly this team is excellent and they have laid solid foundations for next year which at this point i believe could be theirs.
When you're playing with zeal and passion to make sure that your team progresses, there's always a reward for such person at the end. I could remember when United team was facing a big challenge of instability, it was only Bruno Fernandez that does all the work to make sure Manchester united moves forward. A case in point is when board awards short two year contract it is definite indication of safety first strategy, they are hedging their money and not investing fully in long term project. I think best quality Carrick has is his strong attachment towards club DNA, which he is immediately respected by fans and players as result of it. When a squad really desires to play on behalf of its manager, it will automatically give extra 10 percent on field. Provided that Carrick is able to leverage this emotional support, creating cohesive, strong team spirit within initial months, outcome will be the results. Amorim was great manager but manchester united can't understand and didn't give time . I know Carrick did well after amorim saked and the last half of the season was good for Carrick.  But I am Thinking if they give time to amorim they give so much glory than Carrick. Truth be told I think not much credit is actually been given to amorin for the good works that he did with that Manchester United team although he failed to complete the work because of the lack of preciseness from the attack but we can all agree that amorin was actually the one that engineered some of the major changes in terms of players that left the club and also the signing of the trio currently helping the team well now.

Since he was initially appointed as the interim manager of Manchester United, Michael Carrick has shown enough proof for us to believe that he can manage the team in the best possible way. Apart from significantly improving the team's style of play, it's visible that the club players are playing with such unity and same mentality.
Now that he's gotten the opportunity to take to help the club win as many trophies as possible next season, I hope he'll be able to get it done. I'm rooting for him to succeed.

I think that after Pep left City Arsenal are the only name for the title next season, but this is just at this moment, it will surly be update although the transfer season. The one that it will treat Arsenal the most is in my mind Man Utd. Carrick was fenomenal in this season and if he continues doing it, it spells trouble for the rest of EPL. Arsenal will definitely strengthen their positions especially in the left wing and playmaker position maybe even a defensive midfielder also. So they will have a couple of changes for sure.

You're right,, Manchester United will certainly hope for even better performance next season. They feel they've found the perfect coach to help their team, which hasn't been able to win the Premier League for a long time. Hopefully, that's true,, as it would be incredibly exciting to see Manchester United return to their best form and compete as well as they did during Sir Alex Ferguson's tenure.

Hopefully,, Manchester United's current strong performance won't be like the one when Ten Hag was in charge. Ten Hag led Manchester United to a third-place finish in the Premier League, if I'm not mistaken. But after that,, we know Manchester United's performance has deteriorated again. I just saw the notification few minutes ago, I must say it is a bit of a harsh decision taken in a hurry by Liverpool management considering the fact that he won the EPL trophy just last season, I felt they should have given him more time to rebuild his team after some bad moments this season. Anyways, the club management always does what they consider best for the club's interest and I can already perceive from Liverpool fans around that they're fed up with Slot. What's your opinion on this shocking move by Liverpool management?

I just came across the news in our local newspapers and would have posted it if there was no update on this thread. Sadly, some clubs are not patient enough to give managers enough time to build the squad. This was a manager who helped Liverpool win the EPL two seasons ago and he has been sacked just because they had a terrible season. But he still helped the club to finish in the fifth position and qualify for the UCL.

I read that he has been replaced by former Bournemouth manager, Andoni Iraola. The new coach had a commendable last season with Bournemouth, leading them to the Europa League. He would be replaced in the club by Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose.

In my view, Arne Slot deserved to be given one more season to prove his worth.
