10-man Spurs won Chelsea. Arsenal was crowned Costa Brava Champions yesterday after defeating Girona in a friendly.  Lastly, Manchester City's disastrous penalties led to their defeat against Inter.

Yes, these matches look interesting, but in reality, I don't think they're that interesting. Because, in reality, these are just pre-season matches and friendlies. So, who wins or loses in these matches doesn't really matter.

Since the competing teams are just trying out new strategies and tactics, I find watching pre-season matches a bit empty. But yeah, it's better than no matches at all. So, with this in mind, I really can't wait for next season to start again. Because I'm really curious about the performance of the Premier League teams this time.

Because it seems like the title race will also be more intense, considering the current prospects of all the teams. Because Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal are really building their squads well right now. So, that will definitely result in even better teams. So,, with that in mind, I really can't wait to see them compete next season.

Obviously we were a bit surprised to see the final result of this match even though we know this match means nothing but on the other hand Leeds got the advantage here yeah at least it increased their morale and that deserves appreciation. We won't say Liverpool failed because we don't know their motivation to play today and usually at moments like this the teams play just to test strategies and new players, with today's defeat, Liverpool can evaluate to find weaknesses in every line so they are ready for the real season.

Although I watched the highlights of the match, I think Liverpool should have won against Leeds even if they played with second-class players. The second half of the match changed dramatically and Liverpool conceded 4 goals. When big teams lose to smaller teams, it can have a negative effect on the bigger team because they didn't need to win that match but should have won. To boost their confidence and to give them the confidence to continue winning matches in the upcoming tournament.

You're right, I only watch the highlights, and the worst you can do is to bet on those matches, it's not just worth it. The players are just being accessed. We can see that some are changed even before half-time to give others a chance to be accessed as well. I would start betting on the top leagues only when the league starts. I see that the players on bench even take it more seriously, since they are attempting either a spot in the first XI or a potential interest from other scouting teams.

For those that watch the game what do you guys have to say about Santos, to me I think Manchester United need to balance Chelsea at least extra £50m, lol, like dude is a baller, I was so impressed by him in that game, when people was complaining about that deal I was like you guys should calm down before Michael Carrick will decline a deal with Atlanta and go for Santos he definitely knew what he was doing, and people was like Santos is a bench warmer in Chelsea, now they've all seen what a bench warmer is capable of doing, to me with Santos Manchester United has solve 70% of their midfield problems trust me.

I didn't watch the Manchester United vs Atletico Madrid game. I haven't really watched Santos play for Manchester United so I can't say anything about his performance for now. But if you are using his performance against Atletico Madrid to justify that Manchester United needs to balance Chelsea extra £50 million, I think it's too early to say such thing and I will advise you to wait until season start, and if Santos is able to replicate the same performance he displayed against Atletico Madrid through out the season then you can now say that Manchester United rob Chelsea in the Santos deal and they need to balance extra £50 million to Chelsea. Michael Carrick didn't decline to sign Anderson from Atalanta because he has eyes for Santos, what made Anderson deal to fail was because of the knee injury that was identify by Manchester United doctors.

But this defeat taught Iraola that he still has a big task to prepare Liverpool more thoroughly before the season starts. It seems they still lack more competent players, so they need to complete their player transfers first and then they can build a more competitive squad. There is still time left to prepare for that.

Yes back then in preseason games who win or lose doesn't really matter, but nowadays we the football fans takes every winning or lose serious, even if you don't see it as a team your rival fans will see it as something, so it's better they just win, and again this preseason games are used in testing new signings and new strategies so losing any game might likely makes you not really ready for the upcoming season, so to me they should keep winning to avoid let down from other rival teams and fans.

Pre season matches don't look entertaining because maybe on the day you create a chance to watch your team to perform better, they will end up losing to a weaker teams. Honesty I don't find pre season matches interesting, that is why I don't bother myself to watch them, unless if two big teams are playing.

I have doubts they will be able win the Premier League Competition next season under Andoni Iraola after that pre-season game. Most importantly, they will find themselves in a bad position if they do not sign important players for him during this transfer window. They do not have the qualities and depth to withstand both the Premier League Competition and the Champions League competition. I'm afraid that they will also end up getting a fatal blow against Newcastle United during their opening fixture.  The bookmakers already have them as favorites but I will not be deceived. Andoni Iraola will struggle maybe this season and then turn this around next season. I don't see them entering top four in conclusion.

I don't consider pre-season as a serious game which was why I also don't concentrate on it, I thought I'm the only one that is not paying too much attention to it, but I followed it up despite I don't watch. The main aim of playing pre-season is to warm up their players especially for the manager who are starting their first season in the club, for instance Chelsea and Manchester City that are having new manager will eventually concentrate on this preseason, so that they can know the strategy that they are going to use to survive when they season started.

The game between Liverpool against Leeds was a wonderful match, because when I check the liveScore I saw that Liverpool was leading with two goals and then I ignore the match because I was so confident that Liverpool will win, after the match I now check the LiveScore again and saw that Liverpool was defeated. It was a big surprise to me but it doesn't bother me since it is not the main league.

In addition most teams plays their academy players in a bid to integrate some of the players into their first eleven thus I wouldn't think there is any competitive game in those pre- season matches, in fact some club managers had also lamented of likely losing some of their keys players to other clubs thus that would likely disorganized their first team selection and moreso  those players would avoid physicality that is too much physical contact in the course of playing to avoid injuries and as you had rightly said a whole team can be changed at half time, however some clubs utilizes preseason  matches to integrate new signings into their team just like Arsenal new signing Christos Tzolis being played as a replacement to Trossard and other clubs too.

I completely agree with all of your arguments. Losing several experienced players without bringing in the right replacements is one of the signs that Liverpool may struggle to achieve success under Andoni Iraola. He may be optimistic, but optimism alone won't be enough to keep Liverpool competing at the top.

However, I still think Liverpool have a realistic chance of finishing in the top four. Securing a top four finish would give the players the confidence boost they need and help them head into the following season with greater belief.

Santos has same profile as Casimero have they actually sign Santos to replace Casimero position and actually Santos was more technical and attacking mind then Casimero. If you remember in the Manchester united vs Atlético game they started more chance then everyone and create alot of big chances I love him playing like that's they actually remind me a prime pogba when Manchester United sign him they solve 90% of midfield problem. And that why I see him sant an play for red Devil for many year and he is the actual solution for this Manchester united team. They have potential to be the main men in the midfield they can go step ahead of Bruno Fernandes if they remain give that's kinda consistent performance.

Exactly the same feeling I have towards these games, they’re not a game that could worry one because of some results we see some teams are given us. Some teams are only using those games to warm up their players as you said and to also test their new talents, it new players before the full season begins. I just see that stage as a warming step towards when the new season will begin.

I am not even moved by those results and I don’t even waste most of time watching them. Only those gambling on them will even have much focus on them, but it is something I just overlook and wait for the new season to begin. The new season is what will test the skills of these teams because all team will put in their best efforts and try to come out victorious in their most earliest matches before the season get me further more.

I think I have joined the group of those who are not going to be ruling out a new signing making a great start in first season, on a good day I would say Iraola will struggle in his first season, this is ideal to happen but with how Arne Slot actually played out I am very skeptical on certain predictions been made. Arne slot was dubbed to be going to struggle in his first but instead he ended up winning the league and then the second season he was supposed to easily battle for the league due to how much was spend and what he did I his first season but the manager actually ended failing.

But this defeat taught Iraola that he still has a big task to prepare Liverpool more thoroughly before the season starts. It seems they still lack more competent players, so they need to complete their player transfers first, and then they can build a more competitive squad. There is still time left to prepare for that.

Pre-season games have never been my judge of any club's performance. Most players and clubs don't feel the thrill that comes when the league has officially started, and this can make some teams perform very poorly, but the case will be different when the season officially kicks off, the atmosphere of the games and also the energy from the fans with the knowledge of the coaches on adjusting all the flaws from the games played will just make everything different.
