What I feel is that some players have individual skills but are unable to perform in combination within the team. Now, if the same problems are seen even after changing the manager, then people will talk about the skills of the players in the team. And I agree with you.

I will not say Bruno Fernandes, Mbeumo, Cunha  bad player. But their combination may not be strong. Again, I can expect consistent goal scoring and best contribution from a player like Rashford. But in reality, the performance is not as expected. I feel that Manchester United may not be able to show any good performance this season.
The players' selfishness has prevented them from achieving the same level of success as last season under interim manager Michael Carrick.
While Michael Carrick is still the current manager, the problem this season is that none of the players are truly hungry for goals in front of goal. This doesn't mean the players Manchester United have are less good, it just means they prefer to focus on individual goals, which ultimately makes it difficult for the team to achieve maximum results.
Rashford's quality is not the same as it was in previous seasons. This is especially true after his loan spell at Barcelona, but his contributions and performance seem to have declined slightly. When he returned to the starting lineup, he struggled to score goals for the team that made his name.

Mate the game has been won, let's not talk as if Liverpool was given two red card, it was only 1 red card, a team that is strong as theyvwere rated si supposed to manage the situation and maybe the score would've been 1 or the would've ended as a goaless draw, the outcome of that match proves that Manchester City is better than Liverpool, I was among those that think that even with the red card, Manchester City will still find it difficult to win Liverpool, but to my greatest surprise, Liverpool was beaten by them 3goals to nothing at home, for me, this is a normal winning, red card shouldn't be fronted as an excuse.
Manchester city is better than Liverpool hands down. So it has nothing to do with that red card because whether they were given a red card or not, Manchester city would still have won. There's nothing to prove, when was the last time they have perform at Manchester city level? even during last session, you can't compare Manchester city to Liverpool, the difference was clear.

So they have been better than Liverpool even before this season. The advantage Liverpool had was that they were at anfield yet they were still flog 0-3.

Honestly, the outcome of this match really surprised me, though I understand that Manchester City is in good form, and performing excellently well this season, but on the side of Liverpool, they performed very poor, and couldn't even score a single goal. So far Manchester City have won 6 matches out of their first six games played, and Liverpool have only won 2 matches with 3 draws. This is not an excellent performance on their part, and if they should continue in their present performance, they could mix top position at the end of the English premiership season.

Manchester City were able to attack very strongly and they were very confident that they would defeat the Liverpool team. Since the Liverpool team has been going through a lot of weakness this season, they could not stop the attack of the Manchester City team despite trying hard. The form that Manchester City is in this season makes them the favorites to win the title and they have won every match they have played so far. But if we look at Liverpool's results, then they are very disappointed, so their chances are very low. However, since the Liverpool team has brought some players to their team this season, but still there has been no change in their game. Manchester City team wants to maintain their consistency and maintain their performance relatively and they will compete with Liverpool quite a lot.

Newcastle played relatively well last season. The team won 14 out of 38 matches and were 12th in the table but their chances this season look very weak. When the team lost 4-1 to Coventry City, it was easy to imagine how much the team has deteriorated. Newcastle had possession of the ball for most of the match and had 20 shots on goal of which 5 were on target. Coventry City played with discipline despite having only 35 percent of the ball in their possession and converted 4 of their 8 shots into goals. Coventry City have a promising team of talented players these players will probably be able to take the team to a better position.

Newcastle are exactly like last season, if you remember correctly they started making some decent games towards the middle of the season, allowing them not to drop down the table and move up to the lower division.
It's slightly worse this season, due to sales (in my opinion senseless) but maybe they needed the money?
Newcastle are a small reality, absolutely not comparable to the big teams in the Premiere League Championship, the fact that they are in the game is already a small achievement.
Surely this season you can't expect exceptional performances, the only objective they have to maintain is not to leave the Championship and perhaps to hinder some team in reaching the points, otherwise from my point of view, it doesn't have the characteristics to do better.

So, when do you think we'll start talking about Carrick getting sacked?   Roll Eyes
Hmm... Another interesting topic.

Do you really think coaching  has been the problem of Man United all these while? OK, lets go back in time. Since 2016 till date, United have sacked 5 permanent managers, including experienced coaches like Mourinho and Louis van Gaal, mathematically, they sack one manager in every two years. But even at that, there has been no significant result  for the club. My guts tells me the problem is not with the coach, maybe if they  finance Carrick to buy his choice of players the situation would have been different.
No, I didn't mean it that way. It's just a joke that frustrated United fans usually make about the club.

I know these problems are not entirely the manager's fault. There are several other issues that make it difficult for United to find their old identity again. The club's ownership is also part of the problem because United are a big and popular club that are expected to achieve good results. When they suffer several defeats, the pressure starts to build, making the players feel uncomfortable and preventing them from performing at their best. Even giving Carrick plenty of opportunities to bring in new players hasn't changed anything.

Hhe he he has to be joking. The City boys are professional. Whatever the club is facing, the players don't care about the  114 charges. They get paid, they got to keep playing, winning for the team.

Doku brought that win for Manchester City, but I have this belief that Liverpool, with a complete team, will come back into the game. The Manchester win was easy because Liverpool were down to 10 men.
That's right, I never expected them to react to the news like this, they are really professional and that's a positive sign about a team. The performance against Liverpool is why I think they are capable of winning the league. I know the season is just getting started, Liverpool were a man down so it's expected that they lose but I was still impressed in City's performance.

Liverpool with a complete team wouldn't come back from 3 goals down, they could only make it impossible for City to score 3. With a complete team. I just think they can only win with maybe a goal or 2 and Liverpool will definitely reply back.

Even giving Carrick plenty of opportunities to bring in new players hasn't changed anything.
Which new players are you talking about? Grin Is it Carlos Baleba, Santos and Youri Tielemans. Let's be realistic, apart from Baleba, most of these signings are average players and besides, they are all midfielders. If you look at the squad, you will notice they need atleast a winger and a proper striker in front of goal. They are also lacking in defence. Carrick had a limited budget to work with in the transfer window, and most of his target players were not signed by the club. The club owners has to do better if ever Man United is going to come out of this problem.

Arsenal is trying to be consistent, and I know that now people will think Manchester City have a better shot than us in winning the Premier League. I trust my club so much that even if we are second, we are going to be catching up very soon because there is no way we are not winning. We have what it takes for us to win the Premier League, and I am not yet happy with most of the performances, but I still trust my club.

And what I always want people to understand is that they need to be more patient when it comes to all this because there is no way it was going to be easy, so we need to be more patient just that sometimes Arsenal can be relaxed.
I like the fact you trust your team so much, even when they are disappointing at times. Though I'm a fan of all teams, I don't have a particular team at heart because I don't want to get too attached and make emotional decisions. That's why I'm rooting for all teams.

In football, nothing is certain, and for the good of the fans, it's better for them to be prepared for the unexpected. So, even if Arsenal is trying to remain consistent, remember that anything can still happen. It might not be Arsenal or Man City that wins in the end, but a team no one expects. Nevertheless, the rules remain the same: teams have to score more goals to win, so they all need to keep pushing and not to give up or feel relaxed.

Plenty times have we see a team come down to ten men and yet still be able to defend that game till the last so that the opponent they are playing against don't score. Real Madrid did that to Villarreal when Vinicius Junior got that card for drawing the players hair. So playing with ten men isn't an assurance that the ten men team will loose.

Liverpool tried defending after going down to ten men, there defending couldn't just stop Manchester City from scoring. That should tell us something about Manchester City level of attacking. Still having a full team will have given Liverpool a better chance, but even with a complete teeam I am still sure that Manchester City will still have won though it may have been by one or two goal difference.

Without going back and forth we all know who is likely to win the trophy in this season.

It would not be wrong to say that Manchester United's team management is responsible for this situation. A total of 8 players have been sold from the team and 7 new players have signed contracts. The new players who have come from different teams or clubs will need more time to settle in. You cannot put the entire blame on Michael Carrick.

In this difficult time for the team Carrick will have to try harder to maintain the team's discipline. How to use which players will get the best results, these issues need to be analyzed further.

I won’t want to say much about Newcastle rather i will prefer to applaud Coventry for an exceptional performance yesterday, a team that have been away from the Premier league since 2001 came back and is trashing Newcastle 4:1, another key observation this season is that the EPL matches are producing lots of goals this season and that makes the matches very interesting, few days back Chelsea won 5:1 scoring two goals in less than 10mins in the first half, yesterdays match between Newcastle and Coventry produced 4 goals in the second half and i am left to wonder if the EPL strikers have improved or the defenders aren’t doing their jobs well.

Given that both teams have been in poor form recently, the draw didn't surprise me at all. Tottenham has started the season so badly that I’m actually wondering if they might get relegated; just a few seasons ago, they were contending for the top spot. They were a strong team back in the days of Son and Kane.

As for Manchester United, they are exactly the same as always they deserve this situation for continuing to field players like Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire.
Well you are right, with both teams currently struggling with their foam, a draw is a fair result, especially for Tottenham. They were down to 10 men, so to still get a point away from home, it a good result for them. I understand why Manchester United fans are furious about this result, Tottenham have been poor since the beginning of season, they are still finding it hard to get a win this season in the premier league.

Manchester United really need to start doing better, especially in games like this, you can’t have your opponent down to 10 men in 2 consecutive games at home and not being able to win. Currently there a lot of question mark on Carrick, he really needs to start bringing in results.

A team that has Rashford, Bruno, Mbeumo, Cunha and Sesko upfront should be able to convert chances, but I see that they don't perform at their best and it is a big reason to worry. I understand that their midfield isn't the best now as they couldn't get a replacement for Casemiro and their defense too has issues. Players like Maguire, Dalot, Dorgu, Mainoo are not having enough quality to revive this team and the lapses from the back to midfield is really affecting the attack. I think Carrick has to fix this team from the back up before they can get any tangible results.

I waited for all the matches in this round to finish before commenting so that the standings would be finalized; I’m going to talk about the games that caught my eye:

Manchester United 1 - 1 Tottenham

The first half looked like an amateur match whenever the ball was at the feet of the attackers from either team. It was shocking to see Savinho squander a great scoring opportunity, and for Manchester United, Amad Diallo also missed a chance from a prime position. Both teams have issues in attack, at times, their forwards seem to play like amateurs, and this is hurting both sides. Manchester United scored and even benefited from a Tottenham player getting a red card, yet they still only managed a draw conceding a goal that could easily have been prevented.

The headlines say: " Manchester United's worst start to a season since... " It has been over 30 years since Manchester United had such a poor start. But the worst part is that they show no signs of improvement. The squad is the same as last season, and the starting XI is the same, so where is the problem? Honestly, I can't understand how Manchester United has declined so much this season. On the other hand, there's Tottenham; they had time to make new signings but wasted time and money on poor ones, and as a result, they are in the relegation zone again.

Michael Carrick: “When things aren't quite going to plan, I understand the reaction. It still hurts”.

“It's not nice having to go through that, but I thought the players used it well in the second half”.

He should start investigating each player, it looks like the players are sabotaging his work.

Liverpool 0 - 3 Manchester City

I had no doubt that Manchester City would win this match. Before the season started, I had serious reservations about Manchester City's new manager; I even predicted they would finish third or fourth at best. I saw Arsenal in first place, Manchester United in second, and Liverpool in third. But I was completely wrong; reality shows Manchester City performing better than last season, and it is a fact that they are the top title contenders. With their current manager, Liverpool stands no chance of challenging for the title, and things won't improve if they keep him on that becomes clearer with every game.

While I can make exemption for some of the players there to be of better quality, they are still underperforming.

I think there will be a lot of improvement in Their midfield now that baleba is back to his feet, from his performance I can clearly say that he's the perfect replacement for casemiro just that he needs some time to build up. And yeah as for the defense line i think carricks need to work on that area because the defense is very poor and that's the  more reason why they keep Lossing matches,  he should try and summon courage in them because they are very slow in attacking Their opponents, leny yoro and Martinez really tried in Their previous match.

I see some Manchester United fans putting all the blames on Micheal Carrick as if he is the sole cause of what is happening to the team, without calling out the poor quality of the players in his team. I believe that he over achieved last season by taking them to the uefa champions league, because in this Manchester United team, none of their player can get into the first eleven team of Manchester City or arsenal, and their fans are expecting a miracle from him, that's only shows the pressure that comes with the Manchester United job.

Though I expected them to improve as the season goes on, but I doubt if Manchester United hierarchy will be patient enough to see that happen.

There is a lot to say about Newcastle underperforming against Coventry. But on second thought, I want to justify the loss by saying Newcastle are not the same as the one we saw last season. Selling their captain to Arsenal and an important player to a different club. Players like Tonali. The Newcastle team has a weak midfield. Coventry capitalize on that weak spot to get their first win at their home ground in the 2026 campaign.

This Coventry win will motivate the team for the next Premier League fixture. The manager believes they will stay up in the league. The team has to believe in him, in the project, and eventually it will all be worth rejoicing.

Amongst all the players you mentioned, the only outstanding players there are Bruno and Mbuemo the rest doesn't follow and the funny part is that Bruno is not a finisher and I don't know how to classify him because he plays almost all the position in the pitch in other words I will call him a free role player and he always do well regardless. Mbuemo has been delivering this team for some time now and this underperformance I hope it doesn't distract him, I will suggest they get another striker in place of Sesko.

Manchester city have be very impressive under the new coach and the players are adapting very quickly to maresca’s kind of ball and we can see the results and consistency, in which they are the favorites to win the title this season for now but what I am concerned about is if they will maintain this consistency till the end of the season to be able to win the title especially with factors like injury and fatigue because of the long season and the demand of remain consistent in both the champions league and premier league.
Liverpool will also need to put more effort in their performances to see that they improve to get the consistency and performance that’s needed to make them serious title contenders because they have not started well this season and they need to work hard to make sure the level of performance they need to be title contenders is restored to the team.

Manchester United problem is getting worser every single day, the only player that's putting all his efforts mostly is bruno. Let tell you guys if by mistake bruno get injured Manchester United is finish but i didn't pray injury, bruno is really doing his best playing all positions. What I'm yet to understand is those midfielders that was signed last transfer window, noon of them have performed very well season the season started because i understand why a club like Manchester United will play 6 matches won just 1 match that's so bad, with this very performance from them i wonder what they'll play in today match against Atletico Madrid today. Let garrick act fast to solve this problem before is late for him

While it's true that finances play a crucial role when a team wants to make further progress, I believe a great coach can leverage even the smallest amount of money. So, as len01 said, firing Carrick would clearly be a good solution for Manchester united. While the season is still relatively short, everything can be better controlled. Carrick hasn't really been able to show anything at Manchester United. I'm confused, because he looked so great when he coached this team at the end of last season. But now that greatness isn't visible, so firing him now could clearly be a great solution. If left unchecked, Manchester United could fall into the relegation zone this season, and that's very dangerous. We can see for ourselves that Manchester United are clearly at the bottom of the table. So, something must be done to improve things. Because their period is continuously like this in every season, it's clearly not funny.
