I'm totally new to mining.
I'm not really sure, but how does the mining performance look for my computer?
Ryzen 5 1600 16GB RAM 2993mhz Radeon 5700
I bought it mostly for gaming, but since I don't have time for that anymore, then how effective can it be? What can be improved?

you're in the bitcoin mining subforum, so i'll give you a bitcoin mining answer... Your pc is worth nothing for bitcoin mining... You might aswell try to mine using pen and paper, the odds of solving a block are only a little bit smaller... Next time, read the sticky post(s) before posting in a subforum... Here's one of those sticky posts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2959621.0--snip-- TL/DR Summary: - You CANNOT meaningfully mine bitcoin with your PC or laptop no matter how powerful it is. - You CANNOT meaningfully mine bitcoin with your tablet or phone no matter how powerful it is. - Mining apps for your phone or tablet that claim to mine bitcoin are almost certainly scams. - You CANNOT find software here to mine bitcoin with your PC by itself. - You MIGHT be able to do one of the above with altcoins, but such discussion goes into the altcoin mining section. - You CANNOT find or post software here to mine on other peoples' PC without their permission. --snip--

If you want to know how much you can earn per day, it's simple, download Nicehash miner, here: https://www.nicehash.com/download-centerThis app is very good for beginners and for people who don't want to spend so much time looking for miners, best coin to mine etc, I'm using right now because I can receive in BTC and the app is very stable, easy to deal After you install, select to mine with your GPU and CPU and the app will do a benchmark and show how much can you expect daily, maybe the value will be different by the end of the day, but it's a good prediction You can do a overclock and undervolt in your GPU to make the hashrate higher, but this you can do later

You can start mining monero or any other coins which can use the ryzen cpu. but it wont be much profitable. if you can add some GPU to your build , then ETH will be a good option .

Your Radeon 5700 can make about $2 a day or so. With $0.10 kwh in power its more like $1.80 or so. So you can probably make $50 per month as long as you mine almost 24 hours a day. Your CPU is also very good however I don't mine CPU coins so have no idea. The coin to mine with that CPU would be Monero. RAM doesn't really mean much in mining, can't really mine with your ram. Just make sure to keep your case well ventilated so it doesn't over heat. And disable mining when you are going to play a game.

Since you are completely new in mining, start with idena mining (network with 3.600 nodes and coin IDNA listed on 2 today and from next week on 3 exchanges) Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) the power of your computer does not matter with iden mining, even an old laptop connected to the network is enough. And with the current coin price, you have a chance to earn several dozen or even more than 100 dollars a month you can read this post as well: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5162979.msg55048222#msg55048222

One very important thing regarding mining - what kind of PSU do you have? PSU with Gold 80 Plus rating or better is highly desirable in mining operations - miner is running 24/7 - for the same reason it's highly advisable that you have Tier 1 or Tier 2 PSU. Check yours PSU Tier here: https://www.gamingscan.com/psu-hierarchy/Your GPU is excellent for mining Ethereum, and your CPU is good for Monero. Check Monero benchmark for your CPU here: https://monerobenchmarks.info/

This card is good for Ethash Algorithm ( ETC and ETH) mining and you can get up to 52 MH to 56 MH with 120 watt power draw from the wall but mind you make sure you watch your temp, I don't know the brand of your 5700 but some brands are bad. They get hot too quickly

You just have to get validated which happens in every 15 days . Also doing this make your 5700 not fried as its have heating issues if you run 24X7.

If are want to do solo mining then, sadly your PC is not enough to mine any top coins. I would advise you to start selling your hashpower on nicehash which can give you some profits but, it will all depend on where you live and how much they charge you for electricity.

As many have said, your computer won't return a worthwhile profit if you decide to mine by using it. You will likely pay more than what you gain by using it to mine. Tho, I can see you have an interest in crypto and the mining process then it no hurt to try and learn the basics of starting a .bat, guiding toward a pool, withdraw it to your wallet.

I remembered last 2018 when raven coin was then able to mine with cpu, ryzen is the best recommended cpu that day, and I was in my mind to buy a dozen of desktop with ryzen processor, and base of their experience it gives a good hashrate compare to intel xeon cpu. I'm not updated if the latest generation of ryzen would enable to mine a cpu minable coin.

you can still mine many coins with CPU - just look for it ... and the ryzen processor is definitely more effective than smarts when it comes to mining, so if you have it, it's always worth trying ... I recommend the article https://www.techradar.com/news/best-mining-cpu you can read that AMD processors are really good ones......

There is no chance to mine with that hardware, if you want to try it as a sport and not as a business, the configure your pc with a doge mining pool, that way you will understand how is it done and why isn't good business to do it with a normal pc. Some coins can be mined only with Video card, but to make a profit with them you need a rack of video cards to get a decent hash power, it would look something like this: So to be crear, it's possible but with the electric bill will be much higher than what you get of mining profit.

you want to use that PC for mining only or? cause if you are planning to enter in the mining world you can start with that config you have, why not, just grab a proper algo like some monero fork, that will not suck much electricity and will give you at least a little profit by the end of the month
but the real money is being made with mining rigs at least from 5 GPU cards per rig and above... cause it's all in ROI (not counting asics and fpga in that story)

If you don't believe it or don't get it, I don't have the time to try to convince you, sorry.

It’s better to mine ETH based coins if you have GPU’s. Tbh single GPU mining won't be profitable due to complexity of ETH increasing day by day. If you just starting - welcome man 🙂 GPU mining calculator said you will have up to 1 usd/day.
Try to join any of the available pools to start. Feel free to ask anything.
