Damn. had me right from the get go... dirty limped pots I likely wouldn't have stacked off with that turn, I do sometimes bluff those 4 to a flush boards on the river but only if I have no showdown value. You could have gotten more chips out of me though... not many but checking turn would have given me a bit of confidence.. Hard to do when your creaming your pants with the nuttiest of nut hands. yeah i quickly thought about what you might raise my flop bet with, hoped for a spade, and ran with it. I'm the opposite of Iv4n, every bet you make either has me crushed or tells me there's something I'm not seeing In those spots I just leave it to the poker gods to save me and punish you for playing good cards I defintitely expected you to have an A high flush or something on the turn. I really just got lucky there that a spade came on the turn, I usually can't decide until river if I believe someone flopped a flush - limped pot makes that harder to believe. i went out in 10th, not my day. that was basically the nittiest game i have ever played in.
Crazy that sort of sounds like Championship gameplay lol. I don't know if it's people overadjusting to make sure they can hit points or what, but even the first hour there seemed to be some very tight gameplay going on. People who generally 3-bet or splash around weren't making plays I've come to expect from them, hard to get value. It seemed the only big pots happening were when there were big made hands and decent draws, unfortunately that's what took me out. Congrats to the winners, welcome new participants and good to see Yahoo back in the mix. I know most want the chat back , but me and Iv4n are having a great time chatting like a couple loonies whether there's anyone else there who can or not I updated the spreadsheet last night, and think it's correct but as I just got up I'll double check at work tonight. Let me know if there are any issues, the paid fees where already updated so I didn't touch them except to move them with their associated player.

~ It was a day of flushes, huh? My pocket Ace with 1 more Ace on board lose to Obaming's flush IIRC . I almost feel that Im gonna win a big pot with that , Im glad that I didnt raise anything huge for that cards though. ~ It's pretty hard to not raise having pocket Aces. Good job! ~ I updated the spreadsheet last night, and think it's correct but as I just got up I'll double check at work tonight. Let me know if there are any issues, the paid fees where already updated so I didn't touch them except to move them with their associated player.
Thanks for that, mate! At first I was going to ask you to post the results of the T1 here in this thread, but then I figured that I could do it myself. So, here they are: I feel like the competition is becoming stronger with each tournament, which makes the game even more exciting!

I feel like the competition is becoming stronger with each tournament, which makes the game even more exciting! Taking up my position at the back of the grid. I can see you all ahead. The race is off! At least Im still ahead of people who didn't play yet. lol I was all pokered out from 3 days of multi tabling for kirll. Half tempted to push on for the prizes, its not that hard, just a grind. Still I don't think the mrs would appreciate me day and night pokering and that's about whats needed.

The tournament series are intense but at the same time people are having a lot of fun too. So worth, dropping in to see what it is all about Will you join us? With each participation you will get 10 tickets for the lottery. For every point you get via the internal point system, you will get one additional ticket.
You just need to add more tickets! Everything else is fine! That was a fun tournament yesterday and I just wanted to give you a "warning" - expect a lot from your nightmare efialtis this season! Too bad I lost my focus in the end but 5th was "okay" to start with - congrats @Hhampuz! @Iv4n I had company yesterday, my little brother was here and he loved you! So no, keep it up man! At least I make some people smile! You had some good calls in the last game, so warning received, will take extra precautions when I get in hands with you! Next game I will play from phone, I am working, so I will be more quiet!

You are welcome to join! All you need to know you can read in the OP, namely in the "Entry Fees & Passwords" section. Also, maybe take a look at "The Lottery" section. Fun fact: there is a possibility of joining just one game, taking the last place in it, and still winning several-fold of your "investment" during the draw. ~ At least I make some people smile! You had some good calls in the last game, so warning received, will take extra precautions when I get in hands with you! Next game I will play from phone, I am working, so I will be more quiet! I can't chat myself since I don't have enough krill for that, but I enjoy reading you guy's chatting. SO, Please, don't be quiet! Trust me, your audience is wider than you think.

this was a tough beat for @Iv4n:
i semi-bluffed the nut flush draw the whole way, and got there on the river. then i saw him lose most of his chips on a preflop misclick a few hands later. sorry dude, shitty day!
You call it semi-bluffing! yes! semi-bluffing is an important strategy to have in the toolbox IMO. don't dismiss it so easily. https://www.cardschat.com/semi-bluff.phpSo what exactly is a poker semi-bluff?
Well the simple definition is whenever you bet with a hand that has good potential to become the best hand by the river, you are semi-bluffing. You are bluffing because you currently have no hand when you bet. However, you have good “outs” to end up with the best hand by the time the last card is dealt.
And that’s why this tactic is called a semi-bluff, not a pure bluff. You are betting with “something”, not simply with air.
Why is a semi-bluff a good poker betting strategy?
The profit you earn from playing semi-bluffing poker comes from having two ways in which you can win the pot. If your opponent folds to your bluff bet, then your bluff will work and you get paid off. While if you actually make your draw you win by having the best hand.
This makes it hard to counter semi-bluff poker plays because it is difficult to determine when your opponent actually has a hand, when he is pure bluffing and when he is chasing a monster draw. If a player varies his play correctly, he can keep his opponents guessing.
Of all the species of poker animal out there, the tight aggressive players will find semi-bluff poker betting strategies more profitable because fewer players in general will call their bluffs. Their table image has been cultivated to show a player who aggressively plays a few good hands. Thus opponents will often fold to their semi-bluff bets. i try to mix it up a bit, but most players here would probably call me tight aggressive (TAG) which is why semi-bluffing can work in my favor. my TAG image increases my fold equity---the increased chances i will win the pot because my opponent will fold outright. not only that, but i have lots of outs. in the AcJc hand, i had the nut flush draw + 2 backdoor inside straight draws + overcard on the flop. on the turn, i gained the inside straight draw. lots of outs, and also a decent chance you will fold because of the odds i already have a made hand. on the AdQd hand, i made the same fold equity considerations. on the flop and turn, i had the nut flush draw + 2 overcards. on the flop, i was the favorite to win both hands (almost 2/3 of the time in both cases) and on the turn, i had given myself the pot odds to keep betting my equity. It's not like you calling with nothing, but you are semi-bluffing again? And it's not under pair, it was straight, I just couldn't believe it's happening again! If you remember the first time and this time, it's totally the same! Same rising, same calling, and both times I was stronger in the beginning. This time I thought you had some set and on the river I got straight, I thought I was stronger this time, but cards said no! i was lucky you rivered the straight. I need to do something about you, all in on your semi-bluffing sounds like a good solution! jamming in someone's face when you have a made hand is a good way to deal with this type of aggression. but keep this in mind: my intention is to play a made hand (set, overpair, etc) the same way i play a semi-bluff. that way, you can't tell if i have a hand or not, and if you do call my bets then i have good outs to a better hand. @iv4n was talking trash half the game and i couldn't say anything back. I had fun with myself! And it wasn't so trashy, or it was? I hope I didn't offend anyone? no offense take. i don't mind a little trash talk anyway. i only wish i could talk back lol. i'm in the middle of moving right now, very little time to play poker outside of our weekly game. one of these days i'll get the 500 krill. and then they will lower the chat requirement. Hey guys, have been on holiday for almost 5 weeks, so sorry that I missed the recent tournaments. Next Sunday I´m in, can´t wait to kick ur a**** glad to see you back dude!

Thank you for explaining what is semi-bluff, but I think you miss the point here! You didn't have anything after flop and turn, you had outs that's true, but on your first 200 chips bet on flop would you pay all in to see that flush?! Would you chase your outs in tournament without re-buys in the middle of the game? Now it's late to talk about what we would do, but if I reraised you on flop and make a big raise on turn would you pay that river? And don't get me wrong, what bothers me how similar both hands are and how you got flush on the river in both hands! I'm looking forward to all our next hands, I will watch you more closely definitely! Hey guys, have been on holiday for almost 5 weeks, so sorry that I missed the recent tournaments. Next Sunday I´m in, can´t wait to kick ur a**** That's a nice long holiday! Glad to have you back, see you at the tables!

Thank you for explaining what is semi-bluff, but I think you miss the point here! You didn't have anything after flop and turn, you had outs that's true, but on your first 200 chips bet on flop would you pay all in to see that flush?! on the flop, i was the favorite to win. i may not have had a made hand, but it's a little odd to say i didn't have anything when i was the most likely to win at showdown. would i pay if you check-raised all-in? it depends on the situation---pot odds, whether i feel pot committed, whether i feel like gambling when i'm a 60/40 favorite etc. there are many situations where it would be acceptable to call, especially if i've made significant bets already. Would you chase your outs in tournament without re-buys in the middle of the game? i was not chasing draws. that usually implies passively calling down with bad odds. i rarely do that outside of multi-way pots that pay me off huge if i hit. i was the preflop aggressor betting in position to a passive checker---big difference IMO. on that AQ vs 77 hand, i'm sure if you hit one of your 6 non-diamond outs to a straight on the river, you wouldn't be complaining. i'm sure that open-ended straight draw factored into your decision to call the turn, right? and so you must understand the equity of draws even if it feels shitty when your opponents hit them. that's just poker. Now it's late to talk about what we would do, but if I reraised you on flop and make a big raise on turn would you pay that river? again, it depends on the pot odds, but quite possibly. i would maybe just 4-bet shove all-in on the flop, especially in a MTT where i'm looking to build a stack as early as possible or get knocked out. if you check-raised me on the flop and again on the turn, then yes i would call. without knowing the exact stacks/pot, i assume i'd be pot committed by that point. And don't get me wrong, what bothers me how similar both hands are and how you got flush on the river in both hands! the chances to make a flush by the river when on a flopped flush draw = 35%. (and that's not taking into consideration straight draws or draws to a higher pair) it's a very frequent occurrence, so it should be no surprise that it happened twice. this is why flush draw + open-ended straight draws are extremely valuable semi-bluffing hands because you will improve to a straight or flush by the river the majority of the time. by default, that makes it stronger than any pocket pair on an unpaired flop board. what you're also not considering is all the times i did not hit my outs by the river, including those times where we did not show down and you did not see my hand. you're thinking "this guy is so lucky every time" (who do you think i am, @Hhampuz? ) because you have selective memory for these 2 hands. in truth i am running quite bad in this series.....

I can't think of anyone who would jam their stack in with a flush draw on the flop . FOMA is way tighter than i am, he labelled me quite early on and was spot on LAG he's very TAG. If the odds are there he's calling, albeit there are probably some tight folds for better spots... oh my he's speaking through me. When it comes to stacks on the flop it gets more interesting with his style of play, it's how I get my best suckouts. I can't say for sure but I bet he would have folded to a jam on the turn, but I'd have to look at what the stacks and pot size were again. After reviewing the image, I'd say he would have laid it down, with you outstacking him, bu ti can't see what was in the pot on the turn. In his spot I actually feel cheated if I don't hit my flush lol. Although I would have probably apologized and said i feel gross. We all feel cheated when we raise/call to see that flush, especially after flop where you got 2 suited cards and you need just one more! But twice!? Well he got me two times in almost the same way, and he won both hands thanks to that river card, I will not forget that anytime soon! Maybe I even had some nightmares about that, but I won't admit anything! My wife get used to my Sunday poker nights, she doesn't even ask me anything, she just gives me free space! I try to return the favor as always! As I said this Sunday is my night shift, so I will play from the phone. How free I will be I can't tell, like always that will depend on Sunday evening, I can be free to play, but if I have some serious problems I will not be able to put all my attention on the game. I will try to give my best in any case, and we will see how well will that go!

Mine too and I thought she would be pissed off with me. Its managed to just become a thing. She even asked if I wanted any snacks for poker this week! Winning.
