Nano Ledger S Current Shipping Time and Carrier?

I'm looking at nano ledger s site right now as I need to buy a new one.  Shows the item is 59 dollars and a sales tax in my state.  So it would be around 67 dollars or so total.


It also shows Express shipping with DHL of 4-5 business days and that cost another 18 dollars or so.  So the total price of it is around 85 dollars almost.  I know a while back nano ledger had discounts where someone said it was 50 dollars and once was like 42 dollars total.  But back then, was there option for free shipping?


I"m asking about people who are located in the US.


When i bought my nano ledger s years ago, i recalled i paid like 130 dollars for it because it was much more expensive, because... i paid for express DHL shipping, it still would been over 100 dollars for it.  But has nano ever offered free ground shipping or it always has been express shipping?  I like to know those of you who bought it when it was a huge discount like when it was under 50 dollars months ago.  I recalled months ago, it was like 40 dollars before tax and like 43 total after tax that someone else said.. but did they give you option for free shipping? 


Also all ledgers come straight from France right?


I'm pretty certain years ago when i bought my nano ledger s, there was other shipping options where i believe it was free shipping or ups shipping that cost less?  I assume the situation now is because of covid?  Or does nano ledger only offer express shipping with their packages?

I also noticed this right now.  If you buy a nano ledger x as oppose to nano ledger s... there is free dhl shipping.  Was that how it was like before?  It cost 130 dollars for the nano ledger x and around 85 for the nano ledger s.  So its a no brainer just get the nano ledger s right?  Again the nano ledger s worked fine for me back then when it worked.

I seen some on reddit where some ppl said they get like 20% off with it.  But using those codes, there is no risk with it right?  I assume when someone post those promo codes, then they get some money back as its like they referred you to buy one with their code right?

1. Can't recall it from my head but free shipping probably happens on Nano S too for promotional purpose.
2. The price is obviously cheaper now since Nano X is available.
3. Free shipping and express shipping will obviously have differences in the time it takes to deliver your wallet. So if you want it fast, express is your choice. If not, free shipping is better
4. Yea Ledger ships from France.
5. Yea there's no harm using promotional code, just like you guess it's for marketing. Pay attention to the website you visit and don't fall for phishing.

Hi.  Well if i go to ledger site directly and order it and say someone on reddit post the promo codes, there is zero risk using anyones promo code for a discount on ledger site right?  I know that might sound like a dumb question but i just want to be sure.

I'm not sure what risk you think there is in putting in a promo code? How do you think using a promo code could be used against you?

All a promo code does is tell the checkout system to apply a specific discount to your order. It might have some requirements like Nano X added to order to receive 50% off Nano S... or it might be "set shipping to $0 if 2x Nano S added to order" etc...

Using a promo code is not going to infect your PC with malware or reveal your seed or mean you get sent a modified ledger...  At worst, it might "link" your purchase to someone providing an affiliate code, but they're not the same as promo codes... affiliate codes don't tend to provide a discount.

And given affiliate codes tend to get posted all over the place, being linked to an affiliate doesn't really much to anyone... except perhaps the person who owns the affiliate code... and they don't even get details of your purchase, they just get some $

Another thing.  Do you all remember if you needed to sign for it when the package came to you back in the US?  It requires a signature right?  Such as they aren't going to just drop it at your front door?  I don't remember if i had to sign for it or not years ago but i do know i would't want them to leave it outside similar to like how you order from amazon and they leave it at your doorstep if you aren't home.

IIRC, when the package(ledger nano s) came I was not at home by that time but the courier notified me before they came to drop off. Not exactly a door to door delivery but I just gave an instruction where they should have drop it off with my representative to receive the package and that's my brother.

There's a signature and that's needed as a proof that the package was received.

Why is that important?
The sender is responsible for the delivery of the product.

OP is an extreme worry-wart (no offense, jerry0), so he's probably concerned with all of that and more.

I ordered both my Ledger S and X from Amazon, and I didn't have to sign for either one--but that's probably not an answer OP cares about.  However, signature confirmation isn't usually required by businesses unless the item being shipped has a very high value and they want to ensure that a human being (and presumably the right one) took possession of it.  I seriously doubt Ledger would ship their products with signature confirmation required.

Also, I didn't know they were all shipped from France.  Interesting.

Yeah... I vaguely recall that mine was sent via DHL... and I wasn't home at the time so had to go to the DHL depot with ID to sign for and collect it... Couriers in this country really seem to struggle when delivering to apartment buildings, as most don't have secure delivery storage or "live in" building managers to hold packages for residents

Living in France here. I received a Ledger Nano last week and I can assure you the mail carrier asked my signature. With the COVID she asked me to use my own pen.

Regardless of the shipping method you will go for, a signature will be required at the delivery.

I clearly remember that for both devices ordered from Ledger I had to sign the receipt of the shipment, and this is always the case for every shipment that has a tracking number - because the signature is a confirmation that the shipment has been delivered.

Also, I didn't know they were all shipped from France.  Interesting.

Just in case the customer ordered directly from Ledger which is based in France, but if someone orders through official resellers then they send the shipment from their warehouse locally. For example in the USA we can take the Nano S from Wallmart which has a price of $44.99 and free shipping. Of course, buyers mostly choose to buy directly from the manufacturer in order to avoid resellers, all because of the lower risk when it comes to any manipulation with the devices.
