Yes, the title for the topic is very vague and I do know and understand that so you don't have to feel inclined to post about it, or ridicule me about it. I would just ask you to read the whole topic to get a better understanding on why I chose the topic to be so, and maybe then it would make more sense?

Hello!
I'm Meteor, and I go by "MeteorDash" on many forums so if you've seen that name on any other forums before, yup that's me. I've personally been in tons and tons of forums, I have a lot of free time and way too much curiosity to satiate so I hop around from forum to forum hoping to learn more. Although I've been a part of bitcointalk.org for quite a while I haven't exactly posted, in fact this happens to be my first post. This is because, frankly I had no idea what the fuck was going on. It felt all over the place to me, a newbie who just so happened to find this forum. But I noticed that every time I closed the tab out of sheer confusion and frustration, I kept coming back to it because I could not give up. I realized that because of how confusing it was, it just led to me wanting to know more. So I kept going, scrolling through, going through various subsections, and spending hours just gazing upon how much of an impact the users on this forum were making. It struck me, and in that moment I had finally understood the meaning behind the forum, why it existed, and what it stands for. This realization had led to me scrolling further and deeper into the forum learning various things that I would not have learnt if I didn't hit that "register" button. For this, I am thankful.

Cryptocurrency has always been a field I was very interested in, I had been learning about it since I was quite young and have recently delved further into learning the concepts behind it, such as blockchain and what not. I personally believed that blockchain is the future, and regardless of the outcome, my thoughts have stayed constant since. I wanted to start a project regarding this, but please don't get me wrong but I am not delusional. Although I want to start a project I more than realize that neither do I have the knowledge to start one, nor do I have the experience. Which brings to question on why I had chosen what I had chosen as the thread topic. I WANT TO LEARN! Not via courses, not via tutorials, not via guides, but by studying and understanding the workings of how established projects (or even startups) in this field thrive and grow. If you, or someone you know is able to mentor me, please leave a reply to this thread and maybe we can proceed with talking further. If not, at least let me know what my other options are, since I am genuinely invested in this and I want to learn more.

Once again, if you are reading this, thanks for taking the time of your day to go through this.

Hello Meteor and Welcome to Bitcointalk forum.

I well understand your frustration when surfing the forum without a helpful guide. The homepage interface is a mess but it's great that you found this board to post about your thoughts.
It's earlier to talk about how projects work now. A lot of documentations are waiting for you to check. You are lucky to not starting from scratch as you are already involved in the crypto field.
I think you should first learn how to use the forum (unfortunetly, it's not a friendly-use for newbies) and how things work here. Start with those two topics:
Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ
Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?)
And not to forget to use the options in the menu bar in top of the page, especially HELP and SEARCH.

I wish you the best of luck .

I guess you've been here a while, observing and going through posts as stated in article and use of terms like thread..., It's good. You picked just a right step by surfing through the forum for a while before posting anything because, it keeps you off being banned and again, doing your best not to be discouraged! So long as your keen on learning, the forum users are always ready to help you through all that you need to know.
I most say people as yourself (that are ready to learn) are needed here. Just stay the course you've began.
Your welcome to our community.
If I may rightly point out, your article clearly has a topic in the topic section but lacks a heading as per it's content. A content as large as yours should have a heading, that way, it would be better appreciated.
Beginners and help is a very safe zone for you as it guides and tutors you on the basics of the forum and cryptocurrency.
Familiarize yourself with sticky or pinned posts (that is, the the first 2-3 posts on the board that has a pin attached to the topic sentence). These posts often guides you on how the forum and certain boards operates and the need to knows of the forum.
Have an aim and learn with every step you take.

If you don't want a guide or any procedure, and you are only looking for a mentor, I think this is not the right place to find a mentor.

If you want to find a mentor, I suggest you check Fiverr or Upwork instead there are crypto mentor out there but first let me know what exactly project do you plan?

I think this thread below is worth reading before you start everything

I would suggest that you really go around this forum and learn and don't look for mentors. There are tons of knowledge out here, you just have to dig around. We have a search function that you can utilise if you want to look for subjects that interest you, but if you have doubts then you can ask questions. One thing I learn through this forum is that there are people who are really wanting to help, but they don't want to spoon feed you. Best of luck in your journey here and welcome.

Hello there Meteor, welcome to the Bitcointalk community, the first Bitcoin forum made by the Bitcoin creator.

As your titles say, "I WANT TO LEARN". Not any guides or tutorial but studying and understanding will probably you can do it by your self but I think it will take your precious time to spend a bit more while understanding the whole system works. The suggestion above and also by BitMaxz is very important to know, in that thread, it compiled most important to read here in the forum.

Enjoy reading and exploring in the forum, the rules, and the technical stuff discussion might give you additional knowledge of your ongoing project plan. Lastly is, don't hesitate to ask here in the community this regard to your queries. There are a lot of helpful members here that will give you a suggestion and advise if there's something you want clarification.

Welcome to the forum, Meteor! We're glad that you made it here. It's nice to know that you have understood when people are saying about making their own projects, you've got to assume that it's about making a new token.

Not all of the time blockchain is like that and I think that it's not what you are thinking. Enjoy the forum and don't be afraid to ask questions. There are too many individuals and members here who would love to answer your questions just post it to the appropriate section which you think is right.

I'm glad you have that kind of thinking we need new people that has this kind of endeavor to contribute to the advancement of this technology

Since you are dreaming of creating your own project someday, I want to ask you first. Have you already tried investing to bitcoin, altcoins, tried HYIPs, faucets, airdrops or anything related to crypto? Anything whether it ended well or not. I wonder because you told us that you are interested to it for quite a long time but you haven't mention about investing.

Hmm, if not then I advice you to have such kind of experience first. It is vital because It will significantly help you to relate yourself and have insights on what your prospective investors really need. You know, "To be a good leader, you must be a good follower first" Cheesy (sort of that).

Nevertheless, good luck to your journey here and enjoy!

Welcome to the forum!

since you are new in posting here in the forum then I guess you need to learn about the forum. I will try to make a short introductory or tips about the forum. Important things that should be consider like,

1. Familiarize the forum rules and regulations.
2. read the pinned post above every section.
3. this section(beginners & help) fits to all users not only for newbie to learn about cryptocurrency. You should often visit this section.
4. Check also meta section to get some reference about how the forum works, statistical reports and see ban appeals for plagirism.
5. Section for bitcoin discussion is best for learning about bitcoin. When not familiar with something you can get back to this section and ask about it or directly to bitcoin section.
6. Do not believe in fast and easy money. There are offers here especially in investments that are good to be true. This is how scammers work. Beware also on clicking links that are probably a malware. You should know to distinguish a  trusted user or not to avoid getting scam.
7. Try to use the search button to search for guides especially in technical aspects like creating digital wallets, how to transfer coins/bitcoin, how buy crypto and trusted exchange. You may optionally create a thread and ask for someone to answer you or direct you to the thread that you should be looking for.
8. Earning opportunity is possible here by doing bounty hunting but this is not advisable here. However, learn on how to look for a good bounties and who are trusted bounty managers promoting the project that high chances to pay.
9. Take your time to learn at your phase there is no need to rush things here. Try to get involved in discussion that could help you learn. Ignore things that are not actually helping you.
10. No one is perfect here but try to be your best here by abiding and enforce rules and regulations by reporting threads or post you notice that it is for scamming. This will definitely help the forum.

You have stated OP that you have been through a lot of forum then probably you can say something about bitcointalk forum. I wish to know your impressions in regards to bitcointalk forum.
