It's been a while when Twitter was used for those scam giveaways and other bad schemes. What the newbies don't know is that the airdrop can be a scam, all they hope is that it is legit free money online.

Although the initiative to put a hashtag in those could give hesitation to some participants but not every one of them would listen to a stranger online if they're hungry to join and wanting this fake free money online.

#fakegiveaways
#fakeairdrop

I like those Hashtags , But I personally am not obsessed to airdrops , most of them don't worth a penny even if they are real and you win a competition among a lot of people , Stakingdrops are a better idea in my view , you get APR on your favorite coin and you know it's legit!

#fakegiveaways
#fakeairdrop

These two hashtags will help you a lot to determine whether your giveaway or airdrop has been reported as fake or scam.

Most of the time those are the common hashtag you will encounter on Twitter but also these are the additional word to find out some scams, giveaway, and airdrop.

  • free
  • giveaway
  • earnmoney
  • invest

Most of the time I saw those tags but in my life, I never been seen those hashtags on Twitter and becomes a trend we all know that if there is some top 10 trending with those hashtags many people getting curious about it and this is the reason why the bitcoin becomes popular and most of the platform is rising because of its more easily to scam other people.

Indeed. You can determine a fake aidrops or giveaways by seeing these 4 hashtags that you have mentioned because it is the most common words that scammers used in Twitter. I also encountered seeing these kind of phrases in other social media platforms like facebook, reddit, telegram, etc. So they could attract people or newbies to join their fake airdrops and giveaways.

To be quite frank with you, your method seems rather simple but, I believe it's still quite effective @ owner of OP. I was expecting something more technical or there about. I guess the #fakegiveaways and #fakeairdrops all depends on if the platform has been red flagged by some users to encourage others to use their discretion or apply a lot of caution in using the platform and probably expect very little or nothing. So, it depends largely on prior experience by other users. It's nice if it's helpful as I believe it could be. I apply great caution to red flagged platforms.
About free giveaways, I agree and join you in not advocating for it at all, also on the airdrop aspect too. I like the idea of putting in the work to get a result that would be worth every piece of your input effort. You'll appreciate it more that way.

I don't think this will help, it's more time consuming than necessary. I have won 0.05 BTC giveaway one-time which was hosted on Twitter. What was different? It didn't ask me to send anything, didn't ask for my private key. Your due diligence helps you more than this hashtags rabbit hole.

Fake giveaways are not a new issue, there are plenty of different articles that discuss the signs that you should observe before joining a giveaway. Try to look on the official website and accounts to verify if there's a giveaway announcement. Search if there are similar giveaways since plagiarism is always used by a scammer to make their work believable. Be aware that giveaways are tricky, they can be beneficial and bait at the same time. Don't always assume that it is a better deal, try to be more observable and educate yourself. Using the hashtags can also give you ideas about which giveaways to stay away from.

Not all airdrops are bad you just need to find the right one.

For example BAT airdrop, Atomic Wallet airdrop, BTT airdrop and there are many others. You need to participate in airdrops for projects that are already established or being traded in exchanges.

What @pakhitheboss has suggested is another way to find out fake airdrops and giveaway scams on twitter.
You're right, not all airdrops are bad and end up being a scam. but doing research first is very important to filter and find out which airdrops are genuine and and airdrop scams. because currently there are many airdrop scams that trap hunters, harming time and material. projects that are already on the exchange and then do an airdrop, of course, don't question them again. But the problem is when the airdrop scam disguises itself as a coin on the exchange. That's why it's important to do research first.

Using those hashtags will not help you need to also have awareness about the scams that are present, and also don't based on the followers, tweets or like that the user have, always Do Your Own Research and don't based on the opinion of others. And also remember that giveaways doesn't ask for important details such as Passwords, Private Keys, and you don't to send any amount because It's a giveaway and Airdrop it's supposed to be free although some airdrops don't but stay on the free side.

I generally do not advocate Giveaways or airdrop as most of them are fake, but I see a lot of Newbies falling for them every day.

Recently Twitter has been in the news for fake giveaway and hacking scam which most of us here know. So I did a few checks and found an option to help those interested to determine whether you are participating or promoting a scam.

If you are someone who participates in Twitter giveaways & airdrops then you need to first check whether the giveaway is genuine or not by doing a simple search using these two hashtags.

#fakegiveaways
#fakeairdrop

These two hastags still cannot guarantee anything but, will help you to find genuine giveaways or airdrops.

Both of them can't determine legitimate or scam. New account doesn't mean it's scam and old account nor huge amount followers always legit. There're many service offering add fake followers and people usually sell his old account.

The best way to determine it's by reading the whitepaper, the coin/token, utility on real life/economy sectors, etc.

Some the research even don't give us the idea if the airdrop coins are real or scam. Since the coins are not on exchange we cannot really tell the future of the coins.
The only thing good about the airdropped coins is they are free and we do not have to spend money to get them.
yes airdrop is free and there is no need to spend money to be able to follow it, only time and effort is needed to do some of the tasks given.

Several studies were conducted to prevent losses due to the airdrop. It's quite important to do this, if the research doesn't provide a picture I think you should go into more detail.

Currently choosing airdrop and bounty must be more specific and must be more detailed. lots of scam projects that hurt a lot of people.

People get hurt from these scam bounties in the form of spending their time in this activity. There is less monetary scam as those fake companies do not take direct money from those who work for their bounty. Therefore people who have extra time should go for the bounty hunting because in most cases it will be useless tp spend time on it.

I believe right now we have some good number of fake and scam giveaways and airdrops around us so better leave them and never give them any try is best option because I check few sites which believe currently we have nearly 90% to 95% giveaways and airdrops are fake on twitter and youtube so never encourage them just leave them is good for all peoples and try to give others this lesson is also good because any lost of money in this is not good.

Indeed. It surely doesn't guarantee at all. Even I don't know whether it really works or not. But yes, at least for you, it may be a bit helpful.
Well, actually there are no specific ways to determine fake giveaways or fake airdrops. You can do your own ways or follow other suggestions. But the point,  how you can find the signs or proofs whether it is fake or real ones. However, if you want to avoid the fake ones, you mustn't join giveaway or airdrop that you don't really know the projects. While if the giveaway or airdrop was announced officially by a trusted crypto project, ex: a giveaway from a top exchange, then it is no problem to join. As long as you find the information from the official site or social media channels of the project.
