Don't be a prey to this tactics of scam projects. It's crazy to send amount of crypto coins to their account for us to be able to withdraw the coins.
It's not only YFI but those who send messages like that urging you to send crypto first, is 100% scam. Also, they are giving you so good to be true amouny of free coins for you be able to be desperate to withdraw that coin which actually a fake balance.

I never rely on telegram for some information. We have too many scammers and clones there. I just go through market tracker, people who are greedy will get caught.
Sometime the only best way is to follow their social site. Cause on telegram there are plenty of activity happening like announcement of their presale or private sale.  These scammers who know how to create a tokens would likely to make a token and promote its site for at least 24 hours and later on will be gone like in an instant.

Thanks for the share but i am one of the few person that cares nothing about telegram using not unless i need to talk to some people that only have access thru this apps.

Since i become a target of scams for many times i decided to Least telegram to one of my contact providing(but of course in some times for important reason i use it still).

Airdrop also is not on my line,But Good to see that there are still others willing to share and broadcast the shit from these scammers.
I see currently a lot of fake Telegram on behalf of the DeFi project...
not only YFI & YFII telegrams were faked but LINK, Aave, and Maker were also faked. we must be careful before joining the telegram group and don't be tempted by the conversations of the fraudsters in the group if you are added unilaterally then come out immediately then 'report'.
Blocked instantly if you are being PMed or the conversation in the group is not considered as legit.
Most Bot are talking or their Paid to shill just to make people believe their existence and legitimacy.

I usually avoid this kind of airdrop, in fact I never believe in the erc20 token airdrop because I know gas costs are very high at this time, many erc20 tokens stop doing transactions at this time, usually they ask for money to claim the airdrop results on the grounds of gas costs, but still many are willing to send money, if people think smart if indeed the airdrop is given for free in large numbers, they should have enough money for gas costs, but why ask for money for gas fees, of course people who think will understand it is a fraud

Most of these telegram airdrops are just useless as it can be. Not really a fan of telegram airdrops because usually they will waste your energy doing what is needed and in this case they might steal your funds. More than likely, you will have fake balance here, don't think they will be generous in giving out free money.

To be honest, I have experience earning legitimate free money from telegram airdrops back in the year of 2017. But today it's true that most telegram airdrops today are scams and waste of time because they are now using bots and showing you fake balances for you to assume that you are really earning money. Scams are really taking advantage everything that is trending like ICO projects and DeFi projects, that is why avoid participating in any airdrops scams and scam projects.

Fraud and theft in the digital currency market will not end, but it will decrease with the increase in awareness, regulation and legalization of this young market. For me personally, I do not trust any Airdrop that asks me a fee for sending the cryptocurrency, as this indicates the weakness of the project or fraud.

Disclaimer: Please don't click any links under greed, else you'll be responsible for your loss. I'm sharing this just to make you aware of their scam, that's it.

I've been into an airdrops based group that gives me updates whenever a new airdrop is up.

This is what I received in that group, I thought to check this out as I smelled some scam.

Everything was good, until they, in their group, started asking to send Eth and get back double the Eth.

Now, the shittiest part here, as you already know that gas fee is too high in the Eth network specifically for DeFi protocol, what these guys threw in the bot was hilarious! They sent me this:

Quote
1 SET YOUR WALLET
2 CHECK YOUR WALLET
3 SEND GAS FEE TO WITHDRAW 🦄

Then, when I gave my address, they showed me this:

Quote
yearn.finance (YFI):
🦄 My ETH Address
💹 Distribute in 09/03/2020
⛽ Send 0.005 Ethereum  to process your withdrawal.

0x0FBdbB563b1e951129D25b8CB13BD11219294865

◾ Users who caught taking only proof of others will be permanently banned

◾ Your Screen Shot of Deposit or Transaction hash 📸

TBH, I can clearly say these mofos are none from YFI's team and you won't get anything once you send them the Eth, so just don't fall for this! Wink

And the same shit is inside YFII's channel too but I'm not going to share it. Just don't fall for these coins, they're worth so high that it's common sense nobody would give them for free.

I guess the rule of thumb here is just not to trust anything that promises you money for not doing anything. Promising to double your money if you jist send them money is sketchy enough. Never trust too good to be true gains. Ever.

Same as YFIJ (Year Finance Junior) created for "Meme Token"

A few days ago they created the token and share the trade link on "Uniswap" also they add the liquidation to make confident for the a lot people to trade the token. After that's the token price reached around 0.5$-8$ and now they deleted the telegram group before they deleted the owner make some "Pin Message" do not trade the token ~LOL. Now they already gone, the token have 280 transaction and volume trade reached 50K USD.

A good amount for scam, anyone not learning from "Ethereum Token Rainbow and Bitconect on 2017".
DeFi hype will surely end up just like ICO of 2017, since newbies don't like learning they will keep falling for such scams because they want quick gains, I love making my money very slow and steady to avoid unnecessary crashes, newbies need to learn first before running after money

I don't think that's an important problem as long as we can still make a lot of profit from this DeFi project, I will continue to support it, you can see many good projects that were born from DeFi, hopefully this will be the answer to the technological developments that have been waiting for you. many investors.

Scammers sure rides the popularity of YFI/YFII.  There are lots of  people who are scammed with this kind of scheme.  I wonder why they only need 0.005 and not 0.1 or higher.  Possibly to make the project legit since gas fee is not that far from 0.005 ETH.  I guess they have the token named as YFI but different contract.  And that is enough to fool gullible  people around.

True!  Ride the wave till it lasts.  People who take advantage of an event to get profit (not exploiting of scamming of course) are the smart ones.  Set aside the emotion and use our wits.  There is no harm in taking profit on trending cryptocurrency as long as the method is fair.

Best to stay away from airdrops that tells you to deposit or send any eth tokens theres no airdrop like this with fee if a project wants to airdrop for promotional purposes they only need your wallet thats all dont fall for an easy money attempt.

I saw the YFI fake airdrops on telegram and laughed so hard. How will someone in his/her widest dream believe they can get 0.1 YFI from airdrop, lol. I don't pity people who fall for such if it turns out to be a waste of time or scam. We should apply common sense before venturing any airdrop.
I saw this one too and many fall on this one, I hope they are still safe right now and their information is still safe, well I doubt on this.

There's a lot of scam promotions out there and they are taking advantage the peak of many DeFi projects, so if you see a good to be true offer you must think twice before giving up your information. Deal only with the real developer and know the risk of joining such a ponzi telegram group, don't make investing too hard for you, it easy to find a legit information about the specific project, do your homework.

Thank you for providing information about telegram group scams, I have never heard of the YFI / YFII telegram group.
But the method used is still the same, by offering rewards to be good to be true. We have to be careful every investment
offer that promises to make double our capital. Because that is the strategy used by scammers to commit fraud, usually
greedy people are often become victims.

Yes, in things like this sometimes we also have to use logical thinking so as not to get caught up in sweet promises from people we don't know, because in reality it is very rare for people to make promises to give big money to other people who she doesn't know him at all, so obviously on this point I totally agree that we all don't believe anything that promises you money for doing nothing.
I think the chat group link that you provided does not match what YFI and YFII have, I checked on coinmarketcap that the YFI telegram group is https://web.telegram.org/#/im?p=@iearnfinance while Meanwhile, YFII is https://web.telegram.org/#/im?p=@yfiifinance so you have to be more careful and not be fooled by fake telegram groups.

OMG! Telegram apps now are the main home-based of the scammers now. This looks scary, that's why I don't trust any of the airdrops due to it always a trap to get a victim. Although, there are still a few of the legit telegram channels still exist. Thanks for this reminders about this one Sir, need to be more careful about joining in any of the airdrops program.

Sending ETH to them and getting double, is just a cheap scam attempt carried out by many scammers to lure the greedy ones. The simple truth is that only people who are very greedy will keep falling for this type of scam and to make it worst, these group of scammers keeps using this approach which shows that people are still gullible and greedy hence not caring if the project, giveaway or airdrop is scam or not so far they will get their anticipated reward.
Also, Defi is really taking a different step and it will be wise to make sure we invest rightly to be on the safer side than chasing profits and ends up feeding scammers.

unfortunately this is not the fault of telegram but it is the fault of telegram users, and I have also seen that some telegram groups can give a sign that the group is a scam, there are already several cryptocurrency groups that have a sign next to their name with a "scam" sign.
