I got an idea for a fun crypto skill game and have zero coding skill. Is there any place I can pitch this? Any game discussion groups with potential developers or a place where devs are looking for an interesting game project? What are possible next steps?

It's a high risk skill game and could be considered "gambling."

Nah, not gonna work.

There is no place you only pitch the project without execution the game from your self, if you feels the games was really successfully then pitch and hired some developer programmer to create the game for you and you can pitch them to looking some partner/fund maybe. Without a working product, that's could be hard too for your pitch, so, unfortunately, you will not find it.

Maybe you can find help in one of those two boards:
Project Development
Investor-based games
Describe the idea generally in a separate topic and mention that you are looking for partenership or investors looking for a good opportunity.

Note that your best option is to hire someone to develop the game and lunch it by yourself without the need to be  in partenership with anybody. If so, use this board to hire a dev: Services

You need to look for someone who knows how to code and has experience in development. But just like any employment, you need to put budget on that person and tell him what's your idea so he can pitch your idea and transform it into a game.
If you have a budget, it's just too easy for you. Searching won't be that hard because there are too many developers out there waiting for projects to come. But if you are struggling for a budget, it's a different case.

Maybe try some game engine with minimal programming and then make a prototype then maybe you can pitch that to your potential investors I think but most of the time you are going to require the services of programmers Not One but many I think

There are lots of ideas. But it's necessary that on your part, it's not just an idea but you know actually how it can be done.

Try to find some people around you. Maybe there's a person or group in your local community that might have an idea about coding.

And as suggested above, try to lurk at the Project Development section of the forum. But take note, I'm sure no one will message you about that so give them reason to reach you instead by describing everything about your concept and idea. No need to detail all the private Infos, just try to think of a way how can you catch other's attention.

Hello OP,

Have you ever heard of xaya.io? Last year I had an idea about a blockchain game and my experience with programming is very minimal.  Therefore I went out researching for a game developing Engine which would be easier to work with if you don't have much experience with coding.  About half way through, I kinda gave up because it was too far to reach. But if you are more ambitious than me, then I recommend checking out this site: https://xaya.io/learn/.

-Pho

I did notice xaya.io from of your other posts, but I think xaya is too new and having it on ETH blockchain has more potential.

Thanks.

I posted it here on the Investor-based games for more input.

This comment is right, I was going to say that you should look for someone that is going create the game for you, a good programmer that will do the job, after that you can then look for whatever support you’re going to be needing next, whether funding or partners.
If you don’t know how to go about finding someone to create the game, you can check freelancing websites, there are professional programmers who are waiting to take any good offer, so be ready to choose the best and pay to get what you need. Good luck with the game you’re about to create.

I will suggest you not enter this niche because it already seems saturated and marketing it, building userbase, volume, transactions and business is not easy for this niche anymore and that is the reason why we have seen some failed projects recently in this niche.

I think you can make Airdrops like a Cartesi or Bether IO.
When everyone must play a game to earn their airdrops token.
