Is there such a wallet that I can install on my computer and import private keys without having to go to various sites.

Importing private keys on a website doesn't seem safe to me at all. There are many cases of stolen wallets.

I have been using mycrypto desktop wallet since a few years ago and i never encounter any problem to import, create, export, store all of my ethereum, and ERC20 assets in my wallet. You can import your privatekey even when you are offline.

It was also getting the regular update from the developer too.

That means the chance for the wallet to be vulnerable will be less because the dev is still actively working on the improvisation of the wallet.

Yeah, importing private key is very risky of phishing, you can lost all of your coins and tokens if you getting phished.
You can try to use metamask wallet, it is a browser extension, just install it on your browser. I am using it to store eth and tokens.
No need to import private key, just using your password to unlock it when you want to use.

Maybe ETH node lets you import those token addresses to your wallet, But if you do it online then you will not be able to know the balance because your node will be outdated. Wallets need to be connected to the internet to be sync with the full network. Is how it works.

MyEtherWallet not a big problem at all.

Also, you have some option too accessing them with "offline", will make you more secure than accessing wallets when you are online. Just search it on google because my self already reading some topic about sending/accessing mew with offline option.

Ledger or MEW is the best option for storing erc 20 tokens in the offline mode.

If you are going with MEW, just create the paper wallet on the MEW site and keep the funds in offline mode until you needs them.But make sure you write down the private keys before storing the funds or else you may never be able to access them in future.

You can try to consider https://www.coinomi.com/en/downloads/ as another choice. This wallet has already supported almost all of the ERC20 tokens. You can add your custom token too. Some people above me have already suggested the reliable wallet too but for me this wallet has a very good UX and UI.
It's always updating the list of tokens too. It looks good if you can consider this wallet as your choice to be used to store your token or asset.

You are too worried, it does requires to be connected to the web for you to see the balances and history of your wallet. Just like myetherwallet. You don't have that much problem using it as long as you are safely keeping your private keys or the .json file.
But for your best experience of being secured, you'll always see the suggestion of Ledger wallets.

Hardware wallets store ERC-20 tokens. That is the safest way to secure your crypto since you'll be keeping your own private key. It will be the best investment you can make for your crypto's security. I am not also comfortable keeping my crypto online especially if it's a huge fund.

There are no applications nor wallets that could support offline-services. But there are a lot of hardware/cold wallet that you can use such as Ledger Nano X^[1] or Trezor Hardware wallet^[2]. Even applications that requires installment on your device is a bit risky, not unless you install wallet that are trusted such as Coinbase etc. But mostly, wallets requires online/internet connectivity to fully function it's services. Hence, there's no far great wallet compared to those hardware wallets.

If he doesn't want to buy a hardware wallet, why not simply use Ian Coleman's code for start? https://github.com/iancoleman/bip39

Use it safely offline, get a 24 words seed and generate address(es) for Ethereum (default is Bitcoin, but there's a combo box there with plenty of coins) and here you are.
Of course, the seed will have to be saved safely offline. And all the traces also deleted. Only the addresses should stay "at hand".

Of course, he cannot spend, but his wish was to be offline. This is great for HODL (although I don't really recommend HODLing tokens because they tend to go to 0 within months or days).

Ledger Nano is an offline wallet and I am pretty sure they do support a lot of erc20 tokens as well.

However if we are talking about offline that means you can't really do much, you can't send or receive or anything because no information is leaving your wallet and goes to system without any online connection.

Now if it is only to keep the money safe somehow, you could just get a wallet address, put every single detail you need on a piece of paper, put any money you want in it, and then just delete it from the computer, that means the only place it exists would be that piece of paper, that is as offline as it gets. If you would ever want to make any move again, or just simply sell because it went up, use that information on the paper and you can get it back to sell.

The only solution is to use other hardware if you don't want to access it via myetherwallet, then like what other already advise only having ledger nano or trezor will be a help. I only use my trezor before for some coins I have in bounties  or airdrop but as time passed you will only see that they lose in values better only put valuable coins in it as your investment that you know will still have value in the future if you plan not to go online in doing transactions for long.

Offline wallets for ERC20 tokens isn't available, as said usage of hardware wallets were the only choice. One of the user has suggested to create through GitHub using a code and generating seed. This is possible with the technical people, and for people with simple understanding myetherwallet is the only choice.

My Etherwallet (mew) is probably the best desktop wallet to use and you are absolutely right importing keys on a website is always unsafe. Consider getting a hardwaare wallet which is always the safest.
