The problem is, Windows 10 keeps updating one of my staking computers and Chess isn't set to run at launch. So, haven't been running the wallet lately.
Should I just let the old wallet sync?

The blockchain is reloaded with protocol 60014... this is not compatible with 60013

So, where can we get some of these coins to start staking?
You say is a hardfork, but you don't mention from what coin it was forked. It would be nice to know to see who are the coin holders. And if you can share with us the official site of the coin, that would be awesome.
The last time i did staking was some years ago with clam coin, and i'm waiting to find another nice coin for this but with a decent revenue. Maybe this is the one, i will keep an eye on it.

Their money supply is unlimited. So I don't think it is really worth staking this coin. Would be hard to achieve a good value in the market. And besides, no website, and what use case are they going to explore here? If just staking, difficult to be valuable in the current market. So many coins are sprouting everyday. So there's a lot of choice for traders to look at.

lol, then it sounds like a terrible coin... with infinite supply, without a page or a team to back it up with being impossible for them to make something from it. I will keep an eye on the new staking coins, and after reading this commend form TT i will skip this coin, sound as a joke now. Anyone can create a new fork, but that doesn0t mean the had to do it. If the new users want to fork a coin just to learn how to do it, that's fine, but please don't take that experiment as a valid new coin,

To answer the comments/questions above, I guess the person who initiated this new fork will answer later, thus only a quick reply by me: 1) Here is the thread for the ORIGINAL coin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1510517.0code: https://github.com/COINFORCHESS/ChessCoin2) and here the site: * "coin started in 2016. It uses the POS (proof of stake) mechanism to create blocks. The annual staking rate is 32%." https://chess-coin.github.io/I find it NOT good that in the announcement here, the 32% are not mentioned at all :-( It looks like - for newcomers - that this new fork went from "only" 0.32% to again 0.32% :-( 3) and here my blog: https://chess-fan.github.io/blog/* note that in 2019 October a hard fork also was done... and reverted again Sep. 2019 -Hard Fork @block 1999793 -ChessCoin 1.1 -protocolversion 60013 -Blocktime 5min/ 21000 transaction -PoS 0.32% -Moneysupply/ unlimited. -Transactions costs 0.0001/ unlimited. Sep.2020 -Update to ChessCoin 1.2 -protocolversion 60014 -Blocktime 5min/ 21000 transaction -PoS 0.32% -Moneysupply/ unlimited. -Transactions costs 0.0001/ unlimited. Promoted by 42

I think the blockchain is cooked. I just sync'd with no wallet, I put my wallet back in there, and it does back to half sync'd and not syncing/connection....there is a thread on here recently about how devs can make a chain crooked to serve their purposes. Otherwise, how do I get my old coins back?

Thanks. I do still have a balance it shows. Now hopefully a good bootstrap and up again. .32% a year isn't much of a stake reward but guess if the coin becomes a sponsor again it should have a good rise in price.

0.32% a year is nothing... if you invest $100 you get only 32 cents, what a joke... I search for ChessCoin in coinmarquet cap and found a couple of them, can op explain which one is the one he is promoting? https://www.coinmarketcap.com/currencies/chess-coin/https://www.coinmarketcap.com/currencies/chesscoin/I like the staking coins projects, that's why i want to fully understand this one. Hope OP can share the right information with us.

I like the staking coin ones too. Some of the coins I stake are: VersionCoin, TruckCoin, HoboNickels, HODLCoin, Stronghands, Mintcoin, Elite (was 1337), InflationCoin, Bottlecaps, Stackbit, Stackbit, RAIN, OverpoweredCoin, CompoundCoin (original one), and Proof of Stake coin.
I hope we can get a bootstrap for this coin.
