I disagree. There are many developed countries in the world, besides the listed ones, that will not give up their currency. The currency of these countries is supported by the demand for their goods / services, which can only be bought for their national currency.

I guess you are referring to only traditional fiat currencies. There are many other existing currencies aside fiats. So, it shouldn't be difficult for all the countries to switch to fully decentralized currencies like cryptocurrency, without problems. They can still retain their currency names if they wish, and their currencies would be well governed by qualified members in Crypto space and protected from falling apart... all done cheaply. By the way, the fiats as they currently are can easily be protected from falling apart if they do the right thing

However, it's better they decentralize the current fiat currencies for transparency and accountability sake. They can still print them in physical form after decentralizing

I'm not sure of your reasoning, but I agree that the British pound is going to struggle. This is partially because of the UK government's poor response to the pandemic, but also because of Brexit and the government's mismanagement of the transition. Voluntarily cutting yourself off from your biggest trading partner doesn't seem like a brilliant strategic move at the best of times, but couple this with the pandemic, and then add in the UK's current attempts to disregard parts of the withdrawal agreement that they've already signed up to... and the whole thing looks like a real mess.

There are no eternal friends or foes, only eternal interests. Britain is very clever in exploiting the situation between allies and enemies on the European continent. Britain shows that no country can be bound by any treaty forever. The nature of international diplomacy is dynamic, national interests are static, as long as it is in the name of national interests and the safety of the state from national threats, the government of a country can take different policies.

I'm not sure that the government has absolute control. Russia looms large in all of this. They have been implicated in manipulation towards a pro-Brexit referendum outcome, and a pro-independence outcome in the Scottish referendum. Quite apart from their involvement with Trump in the US. The way that all of these election outcomes weaken various different opponents of Russia does highlight their influence. But I'm moving away from the point of the thread. Yes, Brexit weakens both the UK and the EU - although the UK more so.

Are you sure with your post that those currencies will be gone easily? Where did you find the news or where is your proof? I think you just underestimated those countries and Leaders there. Leaders of every country will surely make a way to overcome this crisis and recover even little by little. I believe leaders of every country are smart person.

Every year someone will say that [the currency] is about to die and the economy will crumble to dust because it was created only for [action]. GL is now in principle quite an interesting position - they have started to finish the Bracket and I see a brighter future for them as a separate country than as one of the locomotives of the EU. Why? Because we all see what is happening with the EU now and this can not but upset - a good idea of the past was maximally spoiled by the trends of the current one.
