Avalon 1066 pro hardware issue

Hello everyone,
I need help with my Avalon 1066 pro55th miner.
I bought it recently and when I started it one of data cable ( control board to hashboard cable) burnt due to heat. So I changed it but again it got same problem. So I opened the miner and one of power connector clip fell off. It's loose fitted and may be due to this data cable is heating.
How I reattach it?? What material or chemical uses for its soldering.

@Bluffking, If it is not under warranty: You can try to contact user lightfoot here at the forum. He has the right equipment to do such pcb connection repairs, for reasonable cost.

If it is under warranty: Please contact Canaan.

Thanks for advice. it's under warranty but I can't send it back to factory as I am from India and shipping charges are high.
I want to do it in here, as you see it's not big work but just know what material/paste used to do it.

Ok, then I think it would be optimal if you find an Indian guy who does soldering repairs

If you just want to reattach the connector clip you will need a hotair/blower working station it must look like this below.



You may also need to add more lead to the terminal. Use a soldering lead that mostly uses on old TV it looks like this below to make it stronger.



Then use soldering iron I think 30w or 45w  is fine then you may also need flux or I think rosin(Cheaper) is fine. After adding lead you can start reattached the clip.

make sure you have a small spacer between the

 the -  and the rest of the pcb  so you dont solder a short.

These are completely different theories, if the first one is correct then you need to manage the heat first or else you will face the same issue again, I am not familiar with Avalon miners, but almost everyone in this forum says they are robust, which means they should have some sort of heat-protection and not allow the miner to get hot enough to melt the miner's components.
 
So my guess is that the second theory is more likely and this is just a manufacturing defect due to inadequate quality control, which sadly you have to fix since you can't send the miner back (a problem which I face as well due to the shipping cost and other complications).

I believe he only needs the soldering iron, the heatgun has no use in this fix and it probably costs a lot more than the soldering iron.

Anyway, I would advise against him trying to fix it if he has no previous experience in soldering, it may seem like an easy job but it isn't.

Thats why my recommendation was to take it to a professional soldering guy.

A couple points about this:
1) The OP mentioned a data cable getting burnt. If the terminal that came off was the negative one, a burnt cable tells me that w/o the high-current connection to the PSU the chips were probably trying to complete the circuit by trying to connect through the returns in the data cable. Not good! There is a chance that other parts may have been damaged by that (hopefully not).

2) The bus terminals are very substantial chunks of metal connecting to an equally substantial pad on the PCB. That means you will need a rather hefty soldering iron - at least 50W and even higher would be better. In fact, one of those old transformer-type soldering guns - usually >100w - would be very handy...

The pics show what looks to be bolt holes in both the PCB and terminal. Wonder why Canaan did not reinforce the connection by using a bolt as well as just solder?

good point.

on that note if he bolted them back on it could work.

And if bolting it on worked he could then do soldering work.

seems to me 2 bolts and 2 nuts = cheap as compared to an entire solder station purchase.

Ie if bolting it on does not work don't bother to solder it back.

I have to add that if the holes I see in the pads do not also go through the PCB then DO NOT be tempted to drill some holes through the PCB! There is no (easy) way to know where there are signal traces or power planes inside the boards (they can have up to 3 internal layers) and you cannot take the risk of cutting through them and/or shorting something out..
