Hi. I wanna get started with USDT. Can someone please guide me which is best wallet in terms of security n usage ?

Since USDT is an ERC token it has a transaction cost (fuel) and is not recommended to move it on transactions, the right way to use it is by buying and selling on the exchange. If you want to save dollars then do it with real money and not with cripto, but if you want to trade and buy and sell all the time, the use USDT, that way you avoid the bank each time you sell the bitcoins.

USDT is mainly used for trading and kind of that is the whole utility of stablecoins to store value of crypto I guess,,, but I think more people are using it now to send each other dollar payments. I know a lot of crypto services ask for stablecoin payments since everything is priced in dollars anyway. It is okay to transact, just Gas fees so high right now.

USDT is an erc20-Token, so it is integrated in the Ethereum Network. That means you can use any Wallet which support ETH. The most common are MEW (https://www.myetherwallet.com/ ) and MetaMask (https://metamask.io/). MetaMask is a plugin for chrome and chrome-based browser + available as an app for android and iOS.

Tether is now built on three blockchains.

1. Omini later which is built on bitcoin blockchain
2. ERC20 which is built on ethereum blockchain
3. And the last one for now is built on tron blockchain which is called TRC20 token.

Hardware wallet that support bitcoin, ethereum and tron can be used to store tether because they are support the three blockchain. Wallets like coinomi also support this, but it is an online wallet. If the amount of tether the person want to hold is much, I will suggest using hardware wallet like trezor one or ledger nano s or x.

He can then decide which one to use, be it omini layer for bitcoin, ERC20 for ethereum platform or the TRC20. But, in my opinion, using the omini layer is best but nothing bad using the other two.

There is also Tether on Liquid, Bcash, Algorand, OMG, EOS, and something called Solana.

There are 3 types of USDT blockchain now, ERC20 , TRC20 , Omni , the best blockchain is TRC20 , the fee is zero!
If you want to withdraw in ERC20 blockchain you need to pay 4$ fee usually but TRC20 is fee-free the thing is that the receiver address must be trc20 in that case, Omni has the same fee as erc20 for withdrawing usually.

I think it better to go with Tron USDT because of the erc20 gas fee is ridiculously high right now and I think the gas fee will still be high because of the popularity of Defi and for Tron wallet I use Tronlink

What your purpose to have this coin?

This coin is not suitable to hold, you better use this coin for a trading fair like USDT-BTC which many trader use.

You can choose an exchange, yeah I think almost crypto currency exchange will provide a USDT wallet.

There are different types of ethers available so you need to know which tether should be stored on which wallet, wrong usage will result into complete loss.

Here's the best wallet for USDT and IMO if for ethereum asset and it should be my crypto as it can be running offline without needed a connection and for the TRON usdt asset and you must try to use tron link for that.

Mycrypto is the best wallet consider it gives you various features combined with the good security and regular updates.

is that important ? he only ask for a wallet , nothing more .

This coin is not suitable to hold, you better use this coin for a trading fair like USDT-BTC which many trader use.

what if he isnt a trader? lets not force the guy to do trade . we dont know if he is a gambler or he is a company owner and wants to buy or pay his workers using a stable coin because this is better than using a common crypto . most importantly usdt is suitable for hodling

putting assets on exchange is as dangerous as holding them on the wallet having your p key

To the best of my knowledge, Tether (USDT) currently works on three (3) chains now, the first is Omini, the second is ERC 20 that is, the Ethereum blockchain and the third is TRC 20 that is, the Tron blockchain. Also, it looks like Binance chain is also working to get it working on theirs. So it means that, whichever blockchain network you prefer, you have to get the wallet which is suitable for it. As for me, I would say Trust wallet, this is because, Trust wallet supports ERC 20 and TRC 20 tokens, thus meaning that you can use trust wallet to store it, but you will have to use the right wallet address. In addition to that, I would also prefer TRC 20 chain owing to the fact USDT transactions are free, unlike Omini and ERC 20.
So, you can get started with Trust wallet; just download the wallet, install, backup your keys, and add USDT, either for ERC 20 or TRC 20.

The gas fees has been going back again to the normal gas fees and you need only a few cents to pay the tx fees in the network and use ERC20 USDT is not a bad choice too.
I quite agree with your statement if we must try to go back again to use the alternative chain that has fast tx and cheap fees but USDT erc20 has already accepted by almost all of exchange sites.
That means more money to sell or buy.
