As we continue to gamble, we learn a lot of things and understand how it is important to control our emotions.
We see the impact of it on those irresponsible gamblers including us when we were one of them.
The personal experience we've got and as well as the experience of others when they're all collected by us, we have an idea how to contain it.
If we don't have that self control we are at risk for not only losing our money, but also our selves.
We provably realize all of the mistake we made especially when we lost huge amount of money. If we exceed on our limits that shows how irresponsible we are and for sure majority of us experience that situation. But good thing that there are several people manage to handle the situation well and they just gamble aiming to have fun.
Those good people probably have learned it as well the hard way and that's why they are chill and don't want their energy wasted on making their day bad but overreacting to their losses.
My opinion on this one is to moderate, since we say 'drink moderately' so as 'gamble moderately'.
Your opinion is right, but thinking about it, moderation may not work for some people either; it is not a must to drink alcohol. Even in moderate amounts or very few amounts, some people may still feel very intoxicated from alcohol because of how lightheaded they are; for such persons, avoiding cocktails or any alcoholic beverage in general may be the best choice for them, as even moderate drinking will not be good for them.
It is good you know what works for you and then stick to that pattern. If heavy drinking does not affect you in any way, then consume your alcohol and gamble, but be conscious of your health. If alcohol affects you, it is still alright to not indulge.
It makes sense and you're right that before going to moderation what if that person doesn't have to moderate anything and just not do it at all.
Because it depends on the gambler if they see that they can actually moderate it by themselves.
And I agree about knowing what works for us because things can't just be equal or the same for me, for you and to the others.
