Now I think the fundamentals are there. It's time for $1000 Bitcoin. Everyone ready?

Now I think the fundamentals are there.
The fundamentals aren't even close to being there. The core development team is working hard on making Bitcoin sound. They are doing epic work and will deserve statues one day. We need a lot more development before mass adoption. At this rate it will be 1-2 years before really useful smartphone apps are developed. Then another 1-2 years before people realize that Bitcoin is not a Ponzi scheme. Then another 1-2 years before people start designing powerful business tools that take advantage of Bitcoin's unique properties not accessible by traditional currencies. I guesstimate 3-6 years before we have real fundamentals. I'm hoping to hear some good news from Prague.

Any significantly advanced cryptocurrency is indistinguishable from Ponzi Tulips.

Everyone in this thread is a bear, It'll be over nine thousand by Christmas for sure.
I personally guarantee I'm willing to sell at that price - which makes me a bear too!

Well, I hope it gets to that price, that way you'll be able to pay for the rights to use a picture that's not watermarked...

The $-price for bitcoins will be over 9000, at least,
but the €-price will be 2 or so.

PS: I had to write this.

I can theoretically see Bitcoin at $1000+ by Jan 1, 2015. That would be the "wet dream" scenario. But as far as next Jan is concerned, I'd be surprised if we are $5+.

I don't think the thread is very funny, btw.

At least when my currency devalues, it doesn't get heavier to buy a loaf of bread.

Million dollar idea: Bitcoin for loaves of bread. Shipped.
