Is it that some project manager just decides to play on people's intelligence or probably they don't know they are denting their own integrity, when you make a promise to your bounty participants, we so much hold on to it and in that, we put all effort to support your project, well! we appreciate those who announces that their promises is subject to change and they do smartly where necessary. For those project who waste people's precious time and when it's time to pay them their token they unapologetically refuse, and may not even pay at all. What are they up to? They need to be call to order sincerely.

I would suggest something to all the users who participate in bounties:

1. Ask them to hire an escrow or some sort of trustworthy member to manage it for them.
2. Do not work for anyone before hand or without getting any upfront, internet is filled with scammers.
3. I am sure you can't trust any new project, if you fall for this it's your own fault.

That were my words on this, I don't think you still need enough knowledge to realize if the project is going to be a scam or not.
Good Luck!

This doesn't belong to this section I suppose.

I think the very best thing to suggest is that it really paid in weekly manner so that even those are just tokens ateast they've been paid on you and that's what you are expecting. I have seen such manners but too few or too rare to see on the bounty section, I think if some implement it, it could really make a difference.

The project manager also does not have full control over the distribution, control of the project and further project development. The project manager only manages the project campaign so that the project can be successful and can reach the target according to the predetermined time. Some senior project managers such as Yahoo, Hhampuz and other project managers have good credibility in managing projects to be successful and can pay participants according to their participation.

The project manager who does not pay the participants who have worked hard may have reasons because he was not paid by the project developer and many other reasons. The most common reason is that a project is a scam project. Participants will also not be paid when the tasks they are doing are not appropriate and violate the rules that have been set in the campaign.

This post belongs in the altcoin section.

I understand that bounties are important for some forum members but you are taking part in many that have very shady rules and if you had logic you would never accept to work for months without any guarantee. It is your fault for allowing these managers to have a job and get paid while you don't. If you take part in the promotion of a project through a bounty campaign in social media and more important as a content creator you should demand better options of payment instead of a promise that you might get paid after many months in the form of tokens of this project.

If the project is not a scam, values their coin, and want it to succeed after getting listed in an exchange they should have a marketing plan that includes funds for payments of bounty hunters in Bitcoin or another already tradeable cryptocurrency, and the payments should be weekly.

Instead, bounty hunters accept bounty rules like these:

  • Bounty is expected to last x weeks, but team reserves the right to prolong or shorten if they see fit
  • Total of x project tokens is allocated to the bounty, conversion to the equivalent value will be done when bounty ends
  • The bounty manager and the project team reserve the right to make changes to the conditions at any time
  • Payments will be made after x months
  • No tokens will be distributed if the project fails

All these along with some more ridiculous rules that I read make me believe that these projects are all scams and just pay the minimum they can only to hire the bounty manager. Why you even accept these rules? The payment should be in real money and not after x months that may be never. The working conditions imposed by ICOs and bounty managers are worse than slavery and you are willingly accepting them. Also I have many doubts about any research made by managers on the validity of a project.

Not worth of bitcoin discussion. It's an altcoin discussion, kindly move this thread there.

For those project who waste people's precious time and when it's time to pay them their token they unapologetically refuse, and may not even pay at all. What are they up to? They need to be call to order sincerely.
If this problem keeps on existing in bounty hunting, it's time for you guys to rethink if you are about to join a bounty campaign or any type of bounty. A manager's reputation is also important when you join, always check and validate it.

Actually this is not new anymore. Most campaign manager or projects in the altcoin section bounded by the rule Anytime we can change the rules on the campaign. Nothing can beat the dead horse on this particular rule.

Dont blame some manager, they are also external hired people who comission to do the work on handling the campaign. Its always the prerogative of the project if there are subject to change on some rules particularly on payment. This is actually sucks but learn to live with it. If you dont want to be under this kind of system dont join campaigns.

Your suggestion is good, but only 1 from 1000 bounties implemented this method. Why? Because :

1. Trustworthy member often ask to use escrow, the project manager will refuse it and he can still hire newbie member who want to manage it or he doesn't use any campaign manager.
2. Most of project manager don't have any budget for advance payment and they doing bounty program is aiming to get profit (investors money).
3. I'd say it's better to see the professional and the coin/token utility rather than old nor new project. New project not always a scam, and old project is not always a legitimate project or vice versa.

Fine I got you right, but firstly, is it possible for a good project manager to join a scam project and not know?
Secondly, I want to agree that the duty of some hired  managers ends at a point and they may not have control over payments, but don't they think managing such types of project can dent their reputation. I have seen many managers that you can never doubt any session of their project. It's always sure from beginning to the end. Infact once you see their name, you are so confident to have seen a good project.

Possible, because the managers are also human and can make mistakes. But the point is that the legitimate well known managers are not bad people, they would not tarnish their reputation with a scam project and so as soon as it gets caught they will withdraw any promotions they were organizing. Now about the people participating in the project, it is upto the manager to decide whether to give them anything at all, because the participants are supposed to be joining the campaign after having done their own research as well but I know this is not the case always.

Till date I have seen managers compensate the campaign participants from their own pocket. This sad side of things, nobody ever understood. Sad

No this is a wrong approach. I know all the managers told by @taufik123 are not anybody to compare with because they have set a standard of their own, still the onus of checking and doing research is also partially on the participants.

But they also have a rule, bounty manager has the right to change anything in the middle or any time of the campaign period so users can't really do anything when they accept this term. Why giving the manager as an upper hand if someone deceives you then go to reputation and ruin them.

Bounty manager shouldnt really took all the blame. Why? they are just employees too that had been hired up by the project team unless if the said manager is just part of the team then we can really blame them up but excluding those sole managers on this field then they are indeed doing their best for its participants to be paid up.Its just too unethical if they wont mind
on forcing the team to follow on whats the deal. They would also get pressured when the participants do continously whining about their pay.Its just a wrong mindset to have
to make it generalize in all managers out there. Wasting up your precious time? get used to it because bounty had turned already to a shit several years ago.

A part of the project team or not, if the bounty manager accept to manage the scam project... he's wrong. And if bounty hunters keep promoting the scam project, they also wrong too.
There're a bunch scam project who start bounty program, both bounty manager and bounty hunters should determine and do own research first before joining.

Regarding if he only had been hired by the project team, bounty manager actually can easily reject the bounty if it's scam.

Maybe you can share more light on the type of research hunters should probably embark on before joining a bounty, a proven research you can suggest that have worked 100% and can guarantee hunters will make the right decision and determine outrightly from the research that the bounty will most definitely pay,
Yeah, I will be glad to hear such super research...

Nowadays bounties is full of scam, so there's no proven 100% research can be worked to guarantee they will pay.

Some suggestion before joining a bounty :
1. Check their website, whitepaper, social media, team, roadmap, real usage nor utility of the coin/token,and github. If you find one of them is plagiarism or fake, leave it.
2. Join a bounties managed by trusted and popular bounty manager such as @murat, @masulum, @btcltcdigger etc.
3. Prioritize a bounty payed with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stable coin or top 10 coin.
4. Prioritize a bounty with escrowed funds.
5. If they ask to submit KYC or deposit xxx amount, leave it.

If you follow it, probably it will prevent you 80-90% getting scammed.

It seems reputed bounty managers stopped promoting any of such bounties so the hunters need to choose the bounties wisely. If they choose random newbie managed campaign and expecting their promises will come true is utter stupidity.

We moved a lot from ICO seasons but still people think ICO can make a project successful and promoting it.

Is it that some project manager just decides to play on people's intelligence or probably they don't know they are denting their own integrity .  when you make a promise to your bounty participants, we so much hold on to it and in that, we put all effort to support your project
depends on what kind of manager he was . if his preference is working for cash then chances are he isnt wise enough to chose a proper campaign to manage but managers didnt intend to hurt the hunters  . hunters shouldnt easily believe on what is promise to them but you still need to exert an effort to work if you are expecting for something  .

For those project who waste people's precious time and when it's time to pay them their token they unapologetically refuse, and may not even pay at all. What are they up to?

they are only up to scamming people . you dont wanted your time to get wasted but you just tried and hope for the best  . but what can you do , projects is just a scam .

I think this is ordinary problems in bounties so for me its better stick with bounty managers that has good record of bounties that they handle. Because good bounty managers they tend to check the project first before they will handle it. Your success rate should be higher if you work for a good bounty managers Wink

There nothing that can be done in this situation, project owners always find a way to do anything possible to frustrate hunters because they have a higher hand when it comes to bounty reward payment, most of them don't normally want to keep to their promise when it is time to pay because nobody can challenge them.

How about asking for BTC for the fee besides the tokens they allocate for the campaign. DRK Defi is also an example that one campaign you would probably take because they did risk real funds loike the TRX tokens. Its just few though.

Managers are also being paid by the team. You can't expect them to challenge the team.
Bounty campaigns are not regulated but most of hte time DT users are looking into the potential bounty scam though which is good.
