Ranking websites in google is a result of combination of different factors. In this post I'll talk about 5 different factors that you should focus on to get most of out Google's search algorithm. Note this is just my opinion based on experience, this does not represent factual information.
5. Direct Traffic Doesn't matter how users land on your website fact of the matter is your ranking will improve, whether it's all Chinese or Indian traffic, the more direct traffic and the lower bounce rates your site gets the better your google ranking will get. I've used it myself multiple times and seen website jump in ranking overnight. Yes, traffic exchanges work. Update: Be careful with traffic exchanges though plenty of my pages on forumsupport (no longer around) have penalised for using traffic exchange and thrown to trash by google.
4. Social Media Social media account with good following drives a ton of traffic to your site. That's why it's always discouraged to buy followers, they're dummy accounts. The only time fake followers help is when you're trying to get more followers and have been active already. People tend to follow others who have little less or more followers than them. If you got account sitting there with 10 followers, not many people will follow you doesn't matter how good profile look, how good content you share is.
3. Quality Of Content It's how well your content is written, how lengthy it is, how many relevant keywords it contains, if bounce rate is low on that page. If you know what you're talking about, uniqueness of content, if you got h2, h1, h3 tags on page, if keywords present in title are present in content's body. Does it contains images, are alt tags available, about of external links.
2. Your Site's Answer To User Question This is about having answer to question posed by a person, we here aren't talking in computer terms, it's human to human, how someone asks a questions and how you respond. In 2016 people there's more and more people with smartphones and they ask more and more questions, if your site uses keywords but doesn't answer the question it's pointless. For example, someone searches in google "How To Rank My Site In Google Search" you should have article explaining exactly that with accurate answer. If you know about something, write about it, but don't think in terms of keyword, think what a user would ask if he wants explanation on that subject.
1. Backlinks Yeah backlinks to me get number 1 spot. Links coming from authoritative site, when we use term authoritative we don't really mean some well known edu website, to me authoritative word means something that's above you. Lets say your site gets 100 organic visitors a day, and you've made a backlink on site that also gets 100 visitors from google, this website is considered authoritative, now it's not to say links from site from 50 visitors doesn't find, it does count, but it cannot be compared to juice coming off site that's holds more authority than yours. Backlink, backlinks, backlinks you want to consider doing backlinks all day long. Write something and post on someone else's site with backlink to your site, that's #1 rank increasing factor to me and so far combination of somewhat okay backlinks and all of the factors above has worked perfectly for me.
