This artist is tokenizing his body, selling tattoo 'lots' for stablecoins

"Let me be your canvas"

South Carolina-based artist @shitcoinhodler, who goes by the name "Bishop," is tokenizing himself by selling different parts of his body for what he is calling people's "tattooing pleasure."

Bishop marks off locations on his body and tokenizes them like real estate lots. The rules are pretty simple: customers must buy the lot they are interested in and pay for construction, which means they can decide on the tattoo design and also must pay for Bishop to get it done. Customers can make payments in DAI, USDT, sUSD or USDc, and the tattoos will be created at Blu Gorilla Tattoo in Charleston, South Carolina. Customers must pay for the tattoo in advance.

So far, Bishop has sold a few lots, mostly to artists from the non-fungible tokens (NFT) art community. His most expensive sale so far? A tattoo on his chest for 2 ETH (around $768).

Bishop said he plans to section off his back and front torso for minting soon, as well as his neck-to-waist. Bishop plans to go out-of-state to get some of these tattoos because it is illegal to get neck, head and face tattoos in South Carolina.

free promotional material Wink since every body will talk about this initiative.
generally speaking there is a bigger interest by artist in NTF and original artwork on blockchain.
just as example a piece by Robert Alice as by sold by Christies's auctions just few days ago! https://async.art/art/master/0xb6dae651468e9593e4581705a09c10a76ac1e0c8-606

This is imaginary where I live.
However, I found this an interesting idea indeed. Before media picks up this story, some crypto coin really needs to rent some space and make a tattoo. They will get additional advertisement for free Wink

If he wanted to get tatoo in that area then it should expensive because that is a permanent advertisement that could happen for tatoo is hard to remove and considered as permanent.

However, I just wonder if it is okay to wear different tokens in his body to advertise? Just like signature campaign all of the bounty managers does not want in their campaign for a bounty hunter to wear multiple signatures.

Is it permanent tattoo? Or will the tattoos be left permanent on his body, or does he have a specific time to change them for another? And does he have rules on what can be drawn on his body?
Well, I don't see the benefit of this aside from probably monitizing his body (and maybe private parts too) for personal gains. Hope this doesn't become a trend where people with lots of fans will advertised to get pierced, or get things drawn on their body for money.

Is there any morality or ethics involved in selling your body or commoditizing your body?
What are his reasons for tokenizing his body that way?
what will be the benefit of those that buy part of his body?

I'm curious

This is a funny comment lol. Of course no multiple signature wearing for campaign or bounty but humans can choose to tattoo whatever part of their body in advert for their choice coins. Meanwhile, I think is another publicity stunt for the artist and it will also make the coin a little popular.

What really caught my attention was the fact that he is using cryptocurrencies as a payment method, and the question is why? Maybe he have come to understand that in order to achieve his aim as well as removing any payment restrictions, that crypto is the best bet. However, I do not know much about Tattoos, but how long will this tattoo last on his body, is it permanent or what? And if it's permanent, what's his gain?
Nevertheless, I am in no position to judge but it's clear that people are now seeing that unlike the funny things they heard about crypto, that indeed crypto can really help one achieve his aim. In the coming years, we will see different ways in which people will use crypto for their personal endeavours, this is just the beginning and mass adoption is just closer.
