some people talk about zero Balance wallets for blockchain.com.
Many of Them say their security had been at High level.
Many first screen after login has error.
Hack was only for Blockchain.com wallets and imported wallets is ok.

Blockchain.com says nothing about it.  Cry Cry

If you have Blockchain.com wallet check it now and check IP setting some Ip setting changed to 185.%.%.%

Sure hack had been server side not from email or....

Don't personally have any asset stored on blockchain.com, isn't the site safe from hacks and malwares? Have they not made an official statement regards where those funds might have gone to? I'm suspecting the exchange is part of the people who defrauded the victims. I might be wrong though.

Blockchain.com is known for common bugs but if there's a hack that happened, there's no report or news about it. Those people probably have experienced the bug.
But if it's not the bug, they probably were a victim of phishing for blockchain.com. It's very common that wallet is always the subject by those phishing website makers.

It's just between two scenarios; a) you are unaware that it's your fault why someone got to access your wallet and b) blockchain.com do some sh*t to you. What's the support tell you about the case?

We can't conclude what really happened as there is also the time wherein people complaining about service but it's their fault why scammed happen. But as you have mentioned, since other people experienced it too, what we can say is, there are more reasons now why you or others shouldn't use blockchain.com for whatever purpose. There is authorization needed before someone can open Blockchain.com account so it's really a question of how the hack was done.

I understand the frustration. I don't know how much the amount involved but you really need to move on. Spread words about their sh*tty service as a form of protest if you are really sure that it's their fault.

No site is impervious to hacks and malwares. Security is a two way process;
• The user has to maintain safety when accessing an account, by not downloading unverified applications, avoiding random links, not repeating passwords etc. If one clicks on a malware or downloads a malicious script, their funds can be stolen from any platform.
• The platform also has to protect the assets of its users, by using secure servers, regularly checking for vulnerabilities etc.

I asked them and they say for bad screen and errors it is bug you can use App. for money we can't do anything Huh Angry
Do you mean they told you to use the app if you have a bad screen or error, and for stolen money, they cannot do anything about it (like refund)?

Yeah, not defending blockchain.com or anything but in the few cases I can remember about people posting about accounts hacked there, the fault generally can be pinpointed to the user themself... likely a compromised device, as is often the case with these "wallet hacks". That said, if it turns out to be a fault on server side, it's something waiting to happen.

You should be aware of the related things in account or wallet security.

There are 2 sides in this issue. The company that provides service (wallet in this case). And the customer who uses service.

Company as a service provider has to build up a good platform, bugs should be fixed, codes should be checked carefully, and security on their platform has to be strong and good to protect their customers' accounts and money.

Customers have to secure their accounts on their sides. It is their responsibilities to protect their accounts: Activate 2FA (2-factor aunthentication) with application. Some people don't care to activate 2FA. Some do activate it but choose the method with SMS code that is too bad to use. SMS code can be locked by government or telecommunication companies or the SIM swap attacks are risky.

Have healthy internet surfings.
Prepare their devices with AV softwares, keep it updated.
Accounts must be set up with strong passwords.

The company has nothing to do if customers don't care about their own security and have bad internet surfings.

Sure It is hack.it is not phishing or virus ,....
security is up there.when you want to login you must use Id and after that they send email with link for that id.after that you must use 2FA code.
Their response is not professional.I think They know about that but because of refund Don't say anything

My 2FA was ok.I had that account for 4 years No problem.

I have no doubt at all that most of the losses on this service are the result of phishing, but also that there have been some hard-to-explain cases over the years that have indicated that from time to time someone apparently finds some security holes he uses to hack. There is no great wisdom here, you just need to change the way you think - everything that is entrusted to another to keep is not really yours. You log in to your account, you see that balance is 0 and that's where the whole story ends - support has never been and will never be of much help.

extra33, I don't know if there was anything from this lawsuit - but you can try to contact this user -> Blockchain.com scam - lost funds

I do not even get the reason people will be using a wallet that support email. Email is another means a wallet can be hacked, a wallet that provided someone with seed phrase, why email again. To compromize someone's email is easy for hackers as many people are not using 2fa to protect their email. Unlike the best noncustodial wallets that does not require email at all.

Only seed phrase is enough for backup, no need of any email at all. The seed phrase should be properly written on a metallic sheet, or paper and laminated. Which means the back up is offline. If protected, nothing will happen.

We should also be careful of hackers, they can make use of malware like keyloggers, trojan horse and many others to perform malicious activities on our wallet device that can lead to loss of funds. But specifically, using blockchain wallet is more risky as it requires emails which can be used to compromise the wallet if attackers knows about it.

Better use safe wallet like electrum for bitcoin or coinomi for multicurrency purposes.

Since blockchain wallet is online there are many possible can be happen you might be infected or you might be phished.

That's why I stop using online wallet because we can't blame them if you contact them they will always say "that the issue is in our side not their side" and they already have reputation in Bitcoin industry.

Next time don't use their service to avoid loses.

Do you remember the address if where your coins are save?
Maybe we can check it on explorer if still has the balance and maybe it's just a bug? Because sometimes they have some bugs reporting it to their support will fix the issue by refreshing your account(Just like on Coinbase).

Once I got a mail like that
Quote
You have received a transaction/payment, please click below to see the transaction.
A hidden suspicious link
There was few more thing written in that message, I don't remember those. During that time I shouldn't receive any transaction unless someone sent it by mistake. I was aware about it. Instead of clicking the mail link I logged in to my Blockchain account and found no new tx. Then I checked the mail again, title was Blockchain.com but the mail address wasn't blockchain official mail address. So I ignored it and deleted the message. And haven't faced any issue with my account yet. Maybe it was a fishing attack by someone to access my account.

Can you confirm that anything like this never happened with you?

Since blockchain wallet is online there are many possible can be happen you might be infected or you might be phished.

That's why I stop using online wallet because we can't blame them if you contact them they will always say "that the issue is in our side not their side" and they already have reputation in Bitcoin industry.

Next time don't use their service to avoid loses.

Do you remember the address if where your coins are save?
Maybe we can check it on explorer if still has the balance and maybe it's just a bug? Because sometimes they have some bugs reporting it to their support will fix the issue by refreshing your account(Just like on Coinbase).

sure I  checked balance is 0.
They have problem with their servers .people must talk about it and leave them before losing money

I did not send to exchange just I lost etherum and stellar. both are zero Now.
I understand your situation. I was making a point with that example topic created by the other user against Blockchain.

Quote
I talked with others and some people have same experience.
Money gone to unknown wallets.
My first screen open with error.
I used seeds and recovered it but now wallets are zero and History shows transfer to  unknown wallets.sure Blockhain.com Hacked
I am not sure about the hack thing you are not the one I saw first time was saying the same thing. Like I said there were few other users too who made some post in the forum about their funds not showing up or they lost funds.

People have many problems with blockchain.com now
What do you expect us to do? We are just forum guys. I think Blockchain.com does not have any account with us too or we could call them and ask for an explanation.

I asked them and they say for bad screen and errors it is bug you can use App. for money we can't do anything Huh Angry

Maybe people must send their money to safer wallet

Asked them how is it possible to breached your account even with 2FA. Somehow they can give you some reasons why it happened.

Ask also for logs as maybe there's a "mole" around you that you are unaware of.

Either way, don't use blockchain.com now.

OP there just gave an update that everything is fine now on his side.

But as you have mentioned, since other people experienced it too, what we can say is, there are more reasons now why you or others should't use blockchain.com for whatever purpose.

I understand the frustration. I don't know how much the amount involved but you really need to move on. Spread words about their sh*tty service as a form of protest if you are really sure that it's their fault.

I asked them and they say for bad screen and errors it is bug you can use App. for money we can't do anything Huh Angry

Maybe people must send their money to safer wallet

If that's the case people should really withdraw their funds to different provider since how could those balance missing if there's no somethings shady happening? Maybe for now ask them to solve your issue since if they insist then this is a big red flag on them.

Don't personally have any asset stored on blockchain.com, isn't the site safe from hacks and malwares? Have they not made an official statement regards where those funds might have gone to? I'm suspecting the exchange is part of the people who defrauded the victims. I might be wrong though.

My bitcoins are still in the wallets plus I didn't hear any news of hacked blockchain.
I believe this technology is hugged strong and there's no way to take it down. I request you to post any source link here so we can be more careful.

Because it's the easiest way to make a crypto wallet - all you need is an email and a password. But I wouldn’t agree that it’s easy to hack someone’s email, especially if the user has a strong password and it is familiar with the basics of computer security. I also have an account there, and email makes sense because 2FA is tied to it - but I would never keep more than a few tens of dollars worth on any online wallet.

Better use safe wallet like electrum for bitcoin or coinomi for multicurrency purposes.

Electrum is safer than some online wallets just because it gives the user full control over his private keys, but no less secure than the same if we consider how many users have fallen victim to phishing attacks over the past 2 years. There are only levels of security that can be achieved by using different ways of storing private keys, but it is not just a matter of what we use, but also the way we use it.

Sure hack had been server side not from email or....

can you show the address that your bitcoins were sent? because honestly I don't like how blockchain.com provided services in the past (I say in the past because I haven't used Blockchain.com for more than a year), they made me stay many days to unlock the 2Fa sms and it was terrible days for me and after that I stopped using blockchain.com, and I had more than 7 attempts by someone to want to break my password, sometimes I would use my cell and via 2Fa sms with the code, I already knew that someone tried to get into my blockchain.com wallet and when I was going to see my email, there was also information about someone trying to get into my wallet

I think you need to heads up on this board, Web Wallets and use the search button engine on the forum and probably you will be shocked that there are too many of them who created a lot of threads towards this web wallet. Technically, this web wallet is very buggy and low response in support team, bunch of complaints against them. If you have huge of Bitcoin amount, I suggest to use hardware wallet.

On the other hand, don't trust wallet that you didn't the one who control the key (not your key, not your Bitcoin). Once your email account were hacked, goodbye to your Bitcoin.

Well, if there's no balance under your wallet even you check them already on explorer it means that someone already transfers it to another wallet.

Honestly, I don't believe that someone could access and hack the wallet with 2fa and email which is very difficult. Unless from the start someone already monitors your device or PC that can remotely access your device or make a log of your keystroke and clipboard.

So possible the hacker has the secret key of your 2FA and have access in your email.

Why not try to scan the whole PC you currently using if you found nothing then maybe they right the problem is in your side?

Actually, I tried to recover my wallet before with the same email but it show me different wallet's so why not try to recover your wallet again using your backup it must be show different wallet from old to new. Then choose the old one and check maybe your balance is there(Worth trying.)

We cant deny that this wallet had been the first or common wallet when we are still noobs or are still on learning phase.Agree? when you do already get some experience and knowledge
you'll surely realize that it isnt really worth nor ideal to store up huge amounts of coins into this wallet and rather choose a wallet on where you do posses the keys without any need of hassle
of logging in informations or whatsoever. blockchain had already been known to be buggy and they do have a very slow support response which do sucks. There are even some instances of
lost funds which is still on the questionable side neither its an external or an internal one.

But since it gain a reputation people are still trusting that wallet even if there's a few issue's existing on them, but since this incident occur again and their support doesn't give any clear answer to the person affected I think its best for now to avoid them since we cannot really trust them up if they will not act correctly for the issue what their users encounter on them.

Blockchain.com is known for common bugs but if there's a hack that happened, there's no report or news about it. Those people probably have experienced the bug.
But if it's not the bug, they probably were a victim of phishing for blockchain.com. It's very common that wallet is always the subject by those phishing website makers.

I have not experienced that issues in my blockchain.com account, but blockchain.com is a very popular target of phishing emails I have seen a lot of it coming to my email, but one thing that's interesting to take note is there is an email verification before you can log in to your account and it's an email to approve one's IP, I have to agree with the majority here it's always best to store your coin on a wallet that you own a coin or better a desktop wallet.

AFAIK, there is a 2FA reset function on blockchain wallets. I have forgotten one of the blockchain wallet passwords and 2FA, later send an email for explaining the situation and the support team asked some questions before deleting the 2FA from the old account. Social engineering improved a lot since 2017 and the inexperienced users can easily fall to these traps. If the hacker has remote access to the PC, it is easy to repeat the same steps and recover the wallet intentionally. Anyway, web wallets are vulnerable to attacks and should be avoided for holding large amounts.

In the web wallet sub section I can experience there lots of hot topic regarding on blockchain.com I use blockchain nearly consistently since 2018 so I am quite surprised to see that. Subsequent on coming such allegation it's smart move to stay away. As there is a lack of transparency, having phishing mail issue and dominant part oppose using it so I might uninstall it immediately, better go with something like Exodus, Electrum.
