The Filecoin $205 million ICO project has finally set a launch date after the first one was delayed because of the ongoing COVID19 pandemic. In our latest altcoin news, we can see that that now there’s a new launch date.

Filecoin will finally launch after a few years of delay and aims to become a decentralized “Dropbox” but its creator’s Protocol Labs will have to fend off the miner mutiny and have to deal with competitors on the market. The file hosting protocol Filecoin has finally set a launch date for the mainnet and it will now go live at block 148,888 which should be on October 15. The data which was announced yesterday comes after three years of Protocol Labs raising the Filecoin $205 million ICO for the project.

This project is familiar to me.

Did they have a bounty before? I think I used to see people wearing their signature a year ago or two if I'm not mistaken. This project has been delayed for long.

But congratulations to them if they've made $205M with their ICO. It's very rare to see ICOs getting that crowd sale and with that amount, it's an achievement.

I have been following this project, i haven't invested because i would like to buy the real coin and not the token. But i think this project will be revolutionary. I want to see it live to see if its a good business to start mining it. Maybe with some 8TB hard disks we could find a couple of blocks at the start and get some FileCoins.

That means the IOU tokens that are still traded on exchange sites will be replaced with the real filecoin like Polkadot. That's an interesting event.

Despites the launch of the mainnet and the demand for this token is not so big as DOT.
It looks like to get doubled or even tripled from this update will be impossible to happen for sure.
