I suppose they did not take any of my advice to heart.  It's a shame because I'd love for them to change a few things up and end up earning back peoples trust over time.  VERY possible to do, but not like this.

And no, it is in now way shape or form wrong to outbid yourself.  I do it all the time on ebay when I think I wont be around for the auctions end or don't feel like being around for it, among other reasons.  You are paying more for something you're already winning..that being wrong doesn't make any sense, if anything it's dumb on the bidder part.  Also if it's an intimidation factor to someone I'd say well done to the bidder if you were able to actually do that by simply bidding on an item.

about the bidding I could almost see that but eBay allows you to set a max bid - so you can leave the lower bid and if someone outbids you, the system will keep raising your bid until it hits your max, so you could raise the max bid if you are going to be gone without raising your current bid. That being said, is not an option on the forums though. But also, on eBay its done to shill bid - to raise the price - I have caught dozens of sellers who use alt accounts to bid on their own items, even multiple accounts to make it look like the item is desirable.

but you make a good point. Sadly, that is probably the least of his "issues"

I will note this - he removed his red trust flag on me recently - either yesterday or today.

I think you meant to say "Trust Feedback" - it looks like they have repainted your trust feedback wall with retaliatory feedback.

(I hadn't realised there was a second thread concerning these alts, will follow the investigation here.)

Oh absolutely, I hear you.  I made that statement based on the fact that I don't operate like that and as in someone doing it with a legit bid. Like if you're on vaca or whatever and don't want to pay attention or can't ..nothing wrong with bidding higher. Only hurts the bidder if it's legit bid.  I have caught tons of ebay users doing it too. I created this album maybe a year ago to expose several members who were doing it for at least 2 years.  but I ended up not really knowing how to use it to expose them and forgot about it until now- https://imgur.com/a/hSJKD2A

I don't have any issues with this at all. I've won plenty of auctions from legit sellers for goods at low prices. But yes, you have plenty of that going on too.

Anyhow, this is bitcointalk, not eBay, so generally I believe it's frowned upon/not trustworthy. It's akin to trolling in a way, in my opinion I guess... Maybe I'll change my mind, I don't know, but it's annoying - at least edit your bid instead?....  It's really quite sad I will have to add this as an auction rule:

"No self-bidding - if you are the high bidder on an item, you cannot change or increase your bid until or unless someone outbids you".

Yeah ebay was not a great example exactly.  I have never upped my bid on here when being on top, but I also don't see a big deal if you got some shit going on , wont be there for the end, and don't have time to find a proxy bidder.  I guess I am changing my mind a bit on this now too with all this being pointed out.  The issue becomes who's acting in all honestly..impossible to know really so just don't do it I suppose is the best route.

this might be a stretch but the forum bans for plagiarism right? Does it count if it is in a signature? He puts quite a few random lines in there and I have not seen one yet that was his original thought and he does so without citing the source of the quote. They are all copied from somewhere.

Current one is: Every leaf before it falls must think itself immortal. It is a quote of Marty Rubin.

Yeah that's a stretch, I haven't seen a ban for any kind of sig plagiarism, just neg trust ... For example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439792.0

I think he also stole chronicsky's username and just changed it to Rainbow. Brilliant guy for sure. Roll Eyes

This is a stretch. Plagiarism is mostly in relation to the actual replies that you leave, since one could make the parallel to the substance of the post that the user brought to it: zero, if none of the ideas were their own. That would essentially be like writing a blank post. Smiley

After all, if signature plagiarism was a problem, then you would see a lot of bans. Wink

Let's not go that route. Plagiarism is passing someone's text as your own. It's not uncommon to have a witty quote in one's signature and expecting a reference in the limited signature space is not fair.

Yea I knew it was a stretch but I wasn't sure how the forum rules related to that - and Phil lol look at how much shit I shoved in my signature, he could have added where he got it from if so inclined.

I was just grasping for straws.

I was just grasping for straws.

I know it's frustrating but the only thing that really works is some sort of combination between ignoring/not engaging the troll and reporting their disruptive posts to moderators. Even if the troll gets banned for plagiarism or ban evasion they'll likely be back with an even angrier sockpuppet, which apparently has already happened once or twice with this particular specimen. But not getting a response and/or seeing their posts disappear hits them where it hurts.

acemax was only active for one week before being banned:

yet managed to put together a trust list, one or two names stand out:

None of the other three; Bla2kja2k (nuked), alamjob239 (inactive) or Rainbowsky appear to have created a DT list of their own.

I don't know that there's a connection between Basorexia and your four alts, but the top four UID's that receive merit from Basorexia ( Dime Per 1 NPXS, Pastrana, Aleksandr_ov (banned) and 6eTxoBeH ) might be worth looking at given their cross sharing of merits and their activity (password / email etc) in March 2020 leading up to Aleksandr_ov being banned at the start of April.

I was initially actually trying to help him - so many times people put something up for sale with an generic stock photo that might be incorrect or with no image at all. I made the reference to the couch because with the issues he has from red trust, it would at least be a way we all would know that he actually had the item, as we know that is his couch based on historical posts.

Really? Did I ask you that? No, I did not, fool. Roll Eyes

Nothing is wrong with me, you just have no basic reading comprehension skills obviously, so it must really suck to be you.

Have a great day!  Cheesy

No worries, he's just being a drama queen or something. Something seriously wrong this dude. Just think. How pathetic your life must be when you are essentially blacklisted 3 times from an internet forum, yet still cannot comprehend rules or form any real basic human interaction without being a total asshat.  He's already been banned, and sooner or later it'll happen again.... He's just fucked in the head, I'm sorry. Lol... Tongue
