It is a surprise to see a good morning message popping out from one of my friend. Its been long to get a message from him, and the message made the day. He hasn't known about bitcoin and he isn't used to it. But the message he sent has got a big information in it. He has forwarded the message even without knowing the true meaning, and the message is True.

Perhaps your friend has already been informed or even interested about Bitcoin and crypto. The greeting is basically promoting Bitcoin and crypto.

However, the line "invest in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies" is just like the tiny tip of something enormous. It entails knowledge; it entails careful research not just of Bitcoin itself but also of how to securely access and keep it.

There must be serious disclaimers following this encouragement or, better yet, precautionary warnings. This is the overused line of scammers soliciting investments from gullible individuals in the name of Bitcoin and crypto.

What was your reply to that? I'm with Darker45 that people who heard about bitcoin but had little idea about it are easy prey for scammers.

I maybe over thinking this but the image is kinda ironic. Old man recommending buying bitcoin when it's the youngsters, the millennials, or whatever you call them, who are more open to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Perhaps it's trying to portray that old men are wise but that's not the case with bitcoin.

Tbh I think if their friend sent them this and their førend isn't into crypto but they are then it's perfectly fine. Probably just something they found online while they were browsing...

I assume if his friend wants to get into crypto, he'd try to get some advice from Op at least...

But also the slogan is kinda true, everything else funds the banks and the fat cats that exist only to exploit the system while bitcoin and crypto is a separate endeavour so far at least.

That's some Facebook boomer stuff right there.

The first 4 lines are quite true(besides the gold one, because you can purchase small grams of gold), but I don't know how "invest in bitcoin & cryptocurrencies" is automatically the thing to do because in some cases, it's definitely not.

Oh yeah, and who would forget this?, Peter Schiff son buys more bitcoin against his advise.

Perhaps the OP's friend is really into Bitcoin right now, or in the process of joining the 'investors club'. And he knows who to ask for if he is that serious. And I'm sure @AjithBtc already knows what to advise and at least put him into the right path that Bitcoin is not a "get rich quick scheme".

Based on what your friend has said, it seems like he has a little bit knowledge about bitcoin or cryptocurrency, maybe he is an investor and a beginner in the crypto world, you better give him some advice, beginners should be guided by the seniors because as what other said they are prone from being scammed. Beginners are commonly the victims of every scammer especially those people who love to invest, fake websites can attract them with good offers. It would be easy for scammers to trick beginners because of being a lack of knowledge. Beginners are an explorer and it is really possible that they may encounter fake websites.

it sounds to me like another overly hyped up person who thought the pump and dumps in altcoin market is the actual deal where real "currencies" are growing. usually these people are in for a big surprise after they lost a ton of money to  the dumping part of the same pumps that made them think they've struck oil by finding some shitcoin.
i have always told newcomers to stick to bitcoin and then after at least 6 months of learning and seeing what really goes on in altcoin market decide whether they want to touch it or not.

its not promoting if his friend already know that op is into bitcoin long time ago but i guess it some kind of a bragging that his friend is now into bitcoin . it can be a form of promotion too if he send the same message on more than 5 person and those person are not yet involved into the crypto verse  .

He has forwarded the message even without knowing the true meaning, and the message is True.
why not ? the message can be easily understand if we search its meaning on google and who knows what if your friend is now into bitcoin  ? and you arent aware with that because you dont see him or talk to him oftenly .

I only tell newcomers about bitcoin now and never let the conversation shift to the altcoin market. I know it's their money but I feel it's my duty to at least give them a huge warning call of what they could find on the other side of the moon. Once in bitcoin, there's no going back (and forth).

I see it as a nice ad, not a perfect one (as @Darker45 said, at least a disclaimer there is necessary) and, like any ad, is not 100% true.
Gold is costly? Bitcoin is also not cheap (let's not talk about satoshis, let's talk about outsider's perception, OK?).
Properties are not affordable? It depends on how much money you have (and want to invest) and the country you are targeting. You may be surprised.
Of course, I like the ad. But again, it's just an ad.

It is strange to see why he sent you that message, especially if he hasn't known about bitcoin. Or perhaps, he wants to tell you about investing in bitcoin and crypto. Or he already knew about crypto and bitcoin, so he advises you indirectly, so he thinks you will ask him about investing in bitcoin or crypto. I agree that the message is true.

There are many possibilities why he sent that message. I think you can reply by asking about his reason sent that message to you. I guess he will explain more to you. I am curious what is your reply to him.

Old man recommending buying bitcoin when it's the youngsters, the millennials, or whatever you call them, who are more open to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Perhaps it's trying to portray that old men are wise but that's not the case with bitcoin.
That man isn't really old. He is just your typical balding, small business owner. The people he is giving advise to seem like middle aged couple so there isn't the age difference. Instead, the dressing sense is showing the difference between a self-employed Indian businessman and the ironed-shirt wearing, salaried Indian employee.

Gold is costly? Bitcoin is also not cheap (let's not talk about satoshis, let's talk about outsider's perception, OK?).
That is why its Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, i guess. A lot of Indians lost money by buying random crypto-offerings. This time around there people are better aware and are mostly going through established exchanges. These exchanges list cryptos that have been out there in the international market for a while. During 2017, a lot of people got fooled by advertisements and local marketing. People aren't so naive anymore though.

Myself too never had such a thought about the image that's been depicted along with the quote. That's really awesome, because majority of the Indian population prefer to be on the safer side with a monthly salary. Person who is little bald can be considered a new generation small scale business person. Cheesy

None will examine in-depth as you've done. Congrats on the effort, because your statement clearly describes the addition of cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is expensive, but when it comes to cryptocurrencies as a whole there are small priced assets as well. Based on one's ability one can make his investment.

OP, with the coming bull market, I would be careful of such messages from a friend who has not talked to you in a while, especially if he knows you're a HODLer. Next message might be a loan request. Hahaha.

It is a message about Bitcoin that is in a wide community perhaps on Facebook. It may be shared among the Non-Bitcoiner and could be a way to spread the word about Bitcoin.
I always have the impression that for every person who knows about Bitcoin there is someone who does not know.
Although Bitcoin is more than a decade old, we have a society that has not had any experience with it.

Nothing to worry, we've got trusted escrow service providers. I'll mention him about the collateral, and if he's ok to provide the collateral can sanction his loan request. I believe he'll come request a borrow and not loan Shocked

How do you know he is not a Bitcoiner though? You said you're not in regular contact with him? Who knows if he's already in crypto but just started to go public about it, just like somebody said above.

Anyway, judging from the message, it looks like he has been shilled so hard about Bitcoin from somebody else.
