Yes I have to agree with you. This was at times a barrage of personal attacks and lots of petty squabbling rather than a Presidential debate.
In interviews political commentators were saying the whole set up of the debate was wrong saying the moderation was clearly wrong too. The moderator allowed them to interject unnecessarily on multiple occasions when there was no need for them to disrupt the rhythm of the other and at times the moderator tried to keep the peace and be balanced he simply did not control the situation as a moderator should.
When the moderator pressed the question about the NY Times tax release information, Trump was adamant he has paid millions in income tax for 2016 and 2017. That just might come back to haunt him.
As for Biden, he did far better than I expected. Now I am not so sure Trump will get a landslide victory, I am starting to think Biden just did enough in the first if three live television debates to edge closer to the Presidency than before.
What were your highlights of the television debate?
It was more personal that a presidential debate should be, they seemed to attack each other more that facing the problems of America and how they would address that if reelected or elected (in Bidens case). Tbh I don't know if either of this men is right for America looking at how that debate panned out.
Trump considers his tenure as POTUS a success when it actually isn't and would not stop blaming others (mostly China) for his own mistakes, the election is only few weeks from now, it's now up to the citizens of the U.S. to choose the 'better man' for the job, but as for the debate, it was far from convincing me to pick one out of the two of them.
