This is a logo designing contest for fashion brand "DERNIER CRI". The logo should be preferably in black and gold colors, but can be in other colors too. The fashion brand is generic fashion products.

We intend to use that logo in our website, tags, lables, carry bags etc.

The contest will end 3rd October 2020, 5:00 PM GMT.

There will be only one winner chosen by us. But We might decide to pay some consolation prize to 2nd and 3rd winners also.

The 1st prize is 50$ in BTC.

Hi there! I'm not here to join, but I have a suggestion for you to increase the prizes(payment).
In my honest opinion, logo makers/designers/artists here prefers higher payment for logo making, though it's a contest, it still matters.
The logo of your brand will be it's identity, that's why your logo desinger or the winner here should be rewarded with better payment for his work.
Who knows if your company will boom after that. Just making suggestion tho. Goodluck

It's a French word for 'trendy' or 'latest fashion'.

Seems that Peanutswar tried to make two designs. Well, I guess I might do the same but two renditions of a same design. The OP still isn't replying on other questions that regards to how many logos can a single user make. Hence, I'll be posting now.

HERE'S MY FIRST TRY. I've come up with DC alone then tried to make some vectors that could fit its simplicity then I also tried to put some hangers so here's the first output.

So I've noticed, the hooks of the hanger seems that could make letter D and C alone, so I've separated the hanger's hook and tried to make a simple logo out of it. Personally, this is my main submission. But if the OP liked the first one as well, then why not.

The colors can be varied depending on the likes of the OP and where would it be used. Some labels are preferred to just be black and white, while some branding is fine with colors. Hence, if ever the OP wanted to have the soft copy of the Adobe Illustrator file, then I'll be pleased to send it. Goodluck to other participants!

I've come up with this design by combining D and C letters then tried to make it as pleasing and unique as possible. If you invert it upside down, it would look like a hook of hanger which symbolizes Fashion. SImplicity and minimalism in design is a trend, so does the business itself. I'm not really good in designing, so I tried to search guides and how to make modern logos. I've tried combining dozens of shapes and just came up with square and circles, manipulated to make something out of it. I've first tried using Photoshop as I have knowledge with it but I've searched that it is better to use Illustrators for Vector Designing logos so it won't be blurred if the size would be bigger. So, here's my maximum effort to be a worthy participant of this contest.

in essence, they don't have to explain much. which design they will like is a completely subjective matter, they pay for it, and will probably choose the one they think will best represent his business. they certainly won’t opt for a different design because someone complained.

Then there is no point for holding this contest if the project owner have to spend another money for a license. And it's a big shame if you submit a design that isn't originally made by you to a contest, even though you have purchased the license.

I'd really thought those simple designs would win as it can be used for their generic branding. I am a designer myself but didn't bother joining here. I've already seen a lot of similar styles of logos like those who've win and I personally didn't liked it. It is too obvious that they've plagiarized with the uncleanliness of their works. Also, if the client wants to have a versatile logo (just a suggestion), they better chose those that can be for their general "fashion" business. Having a womenfigure in a logo would be seemed to be a business mostly for women's fashion, henceforth onto having men figures as well. If they also wanted to be a famous brand soon, they better be looking on what are the logos of famous fashion brands nowadays, most and almost every brands do have generic logo, and they better chose those logos that were made with vectors, they might find a problem if they chose those winners that would only provide jpeg files, it'll be blurred if they scale it up.

I am just saying my personal designing critiques. I hope the OP would reconsider looking at the bigger picture. Logo defines their business. It is critical.

Background - I used a fabric silk to make more elegant since it was all about fashion.

For both submission I do have vector files. Though the second one since there's little time left, I did utilize a commercially available one with a license and added my own changes to it. Vector files can be resized without having any loss in quality.

edit: the blur one is my first idea but it didn't go well so I find the font with this which is I got the monoton font and this gives me the greater idea to use it. By rasterizing each layer to make it to the theme of black and gold I come up with my second entry.

I am really sorry for what I have done. I never thought that getting in google will cause for my account to have red tag. I thought that plagiarism is directly stolen of works. I just innovated the logo. However, I did not notice it that I will be tag of it. I am really sorry for what I have done. Based on my understanding, even if you just were a participant, you can get 5 dollars for the effort. You guys did a great job, but with the current issues of this contest, every prizes are on-hold. Hence, all you can do is to wait for the OP and their management for further instructions and announcement. If they re-contest it, I guess it would be fine but they must be strict and the contest must not last for more than two days, as their business requires it. Hence, you don't need to do anything at all.

Do you know that theft in designing can be punishable by the law? It's already obvious that the accused users plagiarized for the contest, giving them days to defend themselves would only make some to crate their own "excuses" and would only be non-sense. Based on my understanding, even if you just were a participant, you can get 5 dollars for the effort. You guys did a great job, but with the current issues of this contest, every prizes are on-hold. Hence, all you can do is to wait for the OP and their management for further instructions and announcement. If they re-contest it, I guess it would be fine but they must be strict and the contest must not last for more than two days, as their business requires it. Hence, you don't need to do anything at all.

I am not just sure if this would make sense, in case OP don't like that their logo came from licensed vector sources - maybe we can give him a day or two to have every submission be checked whether it is original or not and do another deliberation after disqualifying all plagiarized works.

Do you know that theft in designing can be punishable by the law? It's already obvious that the accused users plagiarized for the contest, giving them days to defend themselves would only make some to crate their own "excuses" and would only be non-sense. All I can suggest to do OP is re-contest or try to look if the other submissions can fit their business.

Sorry mate. Should have stuck with the first submission. Well with the license, there's no plagiarism. Reason why they have subscription sites like shutterstock so we can use resources from there legally, wasn't a jpg ripped out of google or from another business. Never had any intent to plagiarise.

Due to current circumstances, we can not use the logos we decided as winning ones. Trusting that it would be a fair game we announced results after few hours after the submissions were done without checking the originality of work. And what happened is really sad.

So we will be extending the contest for 2 more days.
The contest would end on 7th Oct 2020

And after another 2 days we will declare the results, i.e on 9th Oct 2020.

We will keep on investigating if the logos submitted are original work or not.

However the contest will be limited to current participants including Jayce and Roycilik.

Every participant must submit their logos here and not on PM and if you want to use your previously submitted logos, please post them again because it would be easier to keep track of. Secondly: It's a matter of cursive C, which can be used as a mirror image and made into a D , plus the reason I didn't remove the watermark was because I was sure someone will try and find something like that 🤣

Secondly: The software I used have this basic font that we can add as we please , plus none of the vector images were used , there is no plagiarism as I see it, secondly if you want download the software , it's available for free on the app and unfortunately due to unpaid version I could only use very limited color : thus blue. < Using the same unpaid software with limited possibilities is not plagiarism. You can only use the letter "C" from additional big fonts if it's not unlocked .

{Plus I was actually going more for an infinity version , and in the background choose the one that had colors of the earth 🌎 which means the brand is global and signifies infinite possibilities. }

Plus the girl also used the same software, at the same time the only font available of unpaid version and decide to remove the watermark by cropping the image.

I like jayce's design also, maybe that yellow part could be a little more gold, but I guess such minor corrections can't be a serious problem, no matter what the last choice is.

I guess the OP really had something in mind on what kind of logo they will choose. There are also many minimalist approach designs that also had great ideas such as Insanerman's

There is no doubt the Jayce is one of the best designer in bitcointalk. If the company go directly to jayce they will get the good logo design for their brand. But yes always should try to create a contest to find out the best one especially for logo. OP also did like that and at the end the we are seeing the reality that most of the designers plagiarise others' works/ideas. which is really unfair and unprofessional for a designer. Actually I didn't plan to join this contest. Sujonali1819 was the first one who told me about this contest and I told him that I might not join due to my tight work schedule.
