Hi all,

I've used Electrum for a while to send bitcoin and have never run into this issue.  Sent bitcoin to a third party and the transaction is confirmed.

Transaction ID is bde3266c1b23b2d07a4d55e0d78445cc2e7e7b3e12806457072e5118b9bfb47b

The third party is saying they need the wallet issuer (i.e. Electrum) to confirm the transaction in order to apply to my account.

Do you know what this means as the transaction is confirmed on Blockchain? https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/bde3266c1b23b2d07a4d55e0d78445cc2e7e7b3e12806457072e5118b9bfb47b

Your transaction has 135 confirmations as of writing so it is surely enough to be credited to your account balance.

Most of platforms require 1 to 3 confirmations to credit your deposits to your account balance. First, you can check it from your side: Visit their website, find ToS (Terms of conditions/ Terms of Service) or FAQs pages, and search with deposit + confirmation to see what they find out their minimum requirement on confirmation for your deposits.

Confirmations are only thing companies need to credit your account balance. The more confirmations one transaction has (deposit for your case), the less risk of reversibility on that transaction. For your case, 135 confirmations are far from enough. Additionally, bitcoin transactions are almost irreversible (it is not profitable to do such attacks).

What is the third-party company you use? Would you mind sharing their name, website then I and others can check and help you more, please.

The third party is saying they need the wallet issuer (i.e. Electrum) to confirm the transaction in order to apply to my account.
Is it exactly what the company talked to you? It is weird. Wallet software does not confirm transaction, miners confirm it instead. Wallet software help you connecting to nodes, sign and broadcast your transaction but miners / mining pools are the ones will confirm your transaction.

The third party is saying they need the wallet issuer (i.e. Electrum) to confirm the transaction in order to apply to my account.
As said above there is no such feature, bitcoins are not held on wallets, but on the network, the wallet only uses your private keys to allow you sign transactions, but, there is no feature as confirming transactions on the wallet software.

Do you know what this means as the transaction is confirmed on Blockchain?
If the receiving address is accurate the funds are already in the possession of the other party, if they are denying that, it is likely a scam.
Is the third party an individual or business? If it's a business service, you should drop their link to warn others.

That doesn't make much sense. They might be insisting that their wallet sees that it has been confirmed. That would make sense. On the other hand, if their wallet doesn't agree with block explorers, then something might be wrong with their wallet.

There's no proof they can have from the wallet issuer you are referring. My best guess is they are asking for wallet address from which you send the fund. Or maximum you cab share them the tx id only. However, it would be good if you would share which site you are galking about so that we can confirm what's exactly going on. Send them wallet address which you used to send fund from.

I still do not get the point, when the txid is enough to know the transaction is actually from you and confirmed. As you are advised above, it will be good to send them the txid of the confirmed transaction. Maybe the wallet issuer they are requesting for is the txid. And better still, send them your wallet address along, in case.

Do a quick search (upper-right) of the name of the "third party" when viewing this page: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0
If there are a few results, then read the topics.

None?
This may help to figure-out the issue: What are the exact words did he/they said about "confirm the transaction"?

Probably bitcoin is already in your wallet and did not able to notice it. Try to check your balance and see how much BTC you had been transfer. As other users had mention that there is no such thing as wallet confirmation for bitcoin transaction after it has been confirm by the miners. I guess there is a little bit understanding in your post and it does not talk about confirmations. OP you can make a quick search on google search engine on your problems. This is how I am solving my problems when it comes to transaction process where I rely on ready information provided by google but it is also better to ask it here in the forum for there are many users that are knowledgeable about the OP.

it means that this third party you are sending bitcoin to either has no idea what they are talking about and how bitcoin works or they are trying to scam you by making you think you need to take some additional steps and make you waste your time a little.
transactions are confirmed when they are included in a block by a miner. there is no additional steps and your wallet is juts a key storage. and the "wallet issuer" has no authority to do anything. they are just writing code.

204 confirmation, it already arrived there is no such thing as wallet issuer when it comes to transaction all we need is the transaction txt regardless on what wallet it was sent, if they failed to credit your account even if you provided that transaction code, there is a chance that they will not credit you at all.

I also noticed OP did not come back and update the thread if the funds was credited if it's not yet then he should name the third party and open a scam accusation.

Can you tell us more about this third party?

Maybe they are just asking for wallet issuer for record keeping purposes?

It's something like:
- Sender:
- Amount:
- Transaction ID:
- Wallet type:

It could be part of their KYT [Know Your Transactions] procedure.

... or they might just be playing dumb claiming they have received nothing( yet they already have) in order to scam OP. Sadly the person who wants help hasn't shared the third party site.

I second the opinion that you probably got scammed by them. The probability of a service using bitcoin payment gateway not knowing what confirmation is really small. Make a report about it on Scam Accusations and if the service is doing their business here, at least they will get tagged accordingly.

The third party is saying they need the wallet issuer (i.e. Electrum) to confirm the transaction in order to apply to my account.

It's scammers who usually ask for made up, usually non-existing things in order to do this and that.
Until further information I'd assume it's a scam. Especially beware if he/they ask for more money (and don't send!)

Seems OP disappeared after made this thread. I am assuming there are two possibilities as below;

1. If the third party is trusted then they are trying to confirm the address is under your control means probably you need to sign a message. If so then you may sign messages to proof of ownership. But this chance is just 0.5% (according to your main post).

2. Most likely you got a scam and scammers have been trying to scam you once again by hacking your wallet. Eventually, they might ask your seed or private keys. I think you sent the fund into a scam site either it would a Ponzi or something similar. It would be better if you can share the website with us (please use a link between codes, so no one will click on it directly). This possibility is 99.5%.

Just to notify you, there is not necessarily provide any details from your wallet to the third party to prove or confirm your transaction. Only you may share transaction id and sign message if necessary. Just ask here before you send something to the scammer.
