Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Raising it was probably a good move... Although I thought quite a few people from there made a decent amount of money moving to +4 phone regions (Germany, Belgium and Scandinavia) and pick up seasonal work there?

Anyway I'll be sure to add it to my list once the pandemic is over if I take a trip round Europe.

To be able to buy a "Patek Philippe" after waiting years, prospective buyers must literally apply with a CV.
The manufacture's flagship watches, are only sold with the personal permission of Patek Philippe's CEO, Thierry Stern!

Financial status of the buyer and his standing, are important.
The owner family of Patek is demonstrably on a solid clientele, far away from any jet set.
Patek is not for nothing one of the most exclusive watch manufacturers in the whole world.

"Patek Philippe-Nautilus 5712" is still a dream for me...:

But until then, I am also satisfied with the "Audemars Piquet-Royal Oak:

That's probably a house in most of Europe back then... And 75% of one in England (so close enough to one).

The poor people are still migrating...but West isn't like it was in the 90's -00's

Yeah it's a bit of a weird time for a lot of Europe. The UK looks to have started to stagnate economy wise since the last drop in 2016. Sweden has only recently started to grow and I'm not sure how sustainable that is. Germany is still moving though at a pace similar to the US - but both may slow.

But the east was, for a while at least, crashing really hard. That might have reversed by now if a lot of people have started up successful businesses over there.

Because it's not just a watch, what you're going to wear on your hand is actually a status symbol showing that you belong to a certain social elite that can afford a watch that costs $70 000. And given what SiNeReiNZzz post, this is not a watch you can just buy (at least not a new copy), but you have to apply to buy it - but it's nothing new, it's the same thing with some luxury car types.

I personally don’t like the design of this watch, and I wouldn’t buy it even if it costs $70, but like I said before it’s a lot more than a watch that some are willing to pay that price for. For people who have millions or billions, $70 000 it’s like you or me buy something for $7 Wink

Philip Patek is a famous Swiss watchmaker and they only produce high-end watches in limited quantities or pre-ordered by famous and powerful people. Usually, the heads of state, billionaires, and celebrities place an order for this company to produce.
In addition to the super-luxury items above, they also produce unlimited quantities but very high prices.
Of course, the value of a watch comes largely from the brand and the materials it makes. Certainly, the watches of this company bring elegance as well as reputation to its owner.
As an investor, I choose them when I'm too rich because I know they will help under certain circumstances. But right now I am having difficulties and life so I will choose a cheaper watch that suits my needs right now.

Many of these patek philip's watches are expensive but cheap which is very beneficial for investors many will not be able to afford the minimum wage as a summary you can repeat that an expensive watch always presents something that goes out of the ordinary. These can be distinguished by the genius of engineering design and can be the pinnacle of watchmaking or they can simply be a very expensive and unusual toy but in some cases it can always be something unusual be it a monument to human buddhism or its ambition.

The obvious things about why Patek Philippe is expensive is because of the craftmanship that is put into the watch they are making, the combination of traditional watch making and revolutionary makes it more appealing to people and the name brand itself, whenever you want to sell your Patek Philippe you are guaranteed to get a value out of it. Other reasons are the prestige that is laced within their product, having one makes a statement about your taste. The last reason that I can think of is the aesthetics that is unique to their watches.

It looks like the dream of a Gypsy Baroque lover, don't you think? There are much more less expensive but more pleasant-looking watches. Sometimes I just don't understand people who want to buy things solely because they belong to the brand and express this reason as the only reason to buy. What for? For what?
