If you have doubt about a topic then use ab keyword/word and search with it. Selecting time range is handy. You can also the option of ordering your search. My preference is "Most recent topic first"

Yes OP, do as @Royse777 says.

There is another alternative. I do pretty much the same using google. I can show results from bitcointalk.org only if you set it like that. Then you can also set time interval preferences and so on.

But don't be too worried about it, just search a bit before creating a thread.

You also use the textbox right there on the left corner so you could search in all possible related to that topic. But for me use the search button that recommended Royse777 because this is our main search button.

You can break down if you know familiar words on the topic you want to create also you can search by words or by topic.
I think you already know where the topic must be posted there is a chance you can find it on the same board just checked the specific board.

The forums search engine is your best option towards discovering which ever topic that have been treated on the boards as right said by Royse777 but then, there is always room for improvement on informations. For the very least, technology is on the rise and their are advances as well so, some topics might just not be completely treated.
One thing that matters more is that, you don't get to update same old and ancient information as before. You've got to ensure your information deals with cases more recently and should clearly be an improvement on the previous similar topic and maybe quote or reference the topic as well.
You do your best to stay with unique all the he way and avoid plagiarism while keeping to other forum rules as well. Eventually, you'll grow with it and get better at posting.

Option search is logically something that everyone should use if they suspect that there may be duplication of content. If we are looking for something in a particular board than a simple search is enough - we get results only for that board, and if we need a more advanced search we click on the magnifying glass icon next to the search box.

For some things, however, it is not necessary to use the search, because some questions have been answered hundreds of times. Therefore, it makes no sense to open topics on which there are already thousands of comments.

Is nice to see newbies worried about this topic because we have tons of repeated threads, and most of them are about Who is satoshi?... Is important to do research about the information you want to talk about before starting a thread.

One option is to search with the forum tool, and another one is to make a filtered search on google.
