I have altcoins on the big exchanges but each altcoin I have on each exchange are not in the thousands but small balance like for example under 50 balance for each altcoin. Do holders holding such small balances get email notifications from exchanges of upcoming delisting's or coin swaps or only big bag holders entitled to these emails notifications?

Problem is when I click on hide small/0 balances to see my alt holdings on these centralised exchanges it also hides my small alt balances that have values greater than 0 so I see nothing in my wallet overview.

Can you hold alts on Decentralised Exchanges and if so do you get the same email notifications from DEX's?

Finally why doesn't this happen with Bitcoin holdings on centralised exchanges? Lets say I had 90 Bitcoins on a exchange and click on hide small/0 balances it will still show? How is this fair or what kind of exchange system algorithms are they running?

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Why would you hold your altcoins to an exchange? if you have used an email to that cex then basically, you'll receive as many updates that they have including the delisting. But in dex, do they require emails? they don't, right? so you won't receive any update such as delisting.

The best thing is to be updated and check their blogs if there's an upcoming delisting. And for the display of balance, what exchange is like that? I haven't traded for long but when I visit exchanges, they only hide zero balances wallet.

I think centralised exchanges want you to forget you've left coins there and hope they get to keep it or do some weird fraction reserve stuff.

Dexes store keys to alt wallets as well as regular ones... You could set up notifications to see if there are funds in the balance and send you a reminder about this. The "notifications" big whales get i assume are either someone paid to check it or them just checking it themselves. I think quite a few whales probabky cashed out a million dollars to live off at some point and it's not much of a task to hit refresh on coinbase and binance...

Why would you even hold balance on exchange? And why instead of filtering by show coins with balance, you are hiding the small balance (it's $100 in most wallet I think). However, you will receive delisting notification regardless if how much fund you have with them, you only need to be a registered user only.
And with DEX, the wallet is yours. You are nkt sending your fund to any other people's wallet. Rather you are creating or using a wallet of which you have private key too.

If you hold an altcoin that and not dump them then it's assumed you are interested whether the price of it will shoot to mars.

Most DEX are just partially DEX, they may be non-custodial but they also delist some tokens like they have a team that manages the developments and updates. Its just up to you to get updates from the dex and the team of the tokens whether it be delisted from the DEX.

It depends upon exchange and their strategies to announce users about delisting. It is different from exchanges to exchanges. If I was you, I would not rely on email notifications from exchanges to get news about delisting.

I will bookmark a page that an exchange used to make delisting announcements. Visit it daily so you will not miss any important delisting news.

Sometimes there are technical problems from receiving notification emails. They can be lost or they will appear outside your Inbox (in Promotions, spam folders) and you will miss them.

If you are holding too many altcoins, it can be a trouble to follow up their prices and delisting news. Eventually most of altcoins or tokens end with zero value.

It is better to check their blogs rather than waiting for an email from any CEX. Most emails from CEX are related to promotion and contest. I do not think they send emails related to the delisting of a particular crypto.  DEX do not send such emails are they never ask for email address therefore you have to check their blogs for any updates. Most of them are active on social media and I have seen exchanges informing their community on twitter about delisting. You can follow them their to stay updated.

Most exchange do this. Your dust tokens that is not above their hide small balance will definitely be hidden. But dont worry if the value of that token increase it will be shown again. You can always check all your balance on an exchange anyway.

Can you hold alts on Decentralised Exchanges and if so do you get the same email notifications from DEX's?
As much as I know you can on forkdelta you can store it as long as your wallet is still connected with the dex. But for some exchange like your uniswap, the transaction there is simple and automatic swap, you dont need to bid it and wait for your orders. Its real time value of the trading listed there. You can just connect wallet anytime.

I never see this "small balances" option on DEXes that I've used. Most CEX though, hide anything that is less than $5 or so (depends on the exchange, really). So the key is the dollar/fiat value, not the sats value. Regarding the delisting notice, pretty sure you'll still get it.

Okay with forkdelta DEX I will get email notifications about delistings or coin swaps but my wallet must be connected to the DEX? That means my phone or computer wherever the wallet is installed has to be on and connected to the internet 24/7?

Why would you hold your altcoins to an exchange? if you have used an email to that cex then basically, you'll receive as many updates that they have including the delisting. But in dex, do they require emails? they don't, right? so you won't receive any update such as delisting.

So I can get email notifications of coin swaps. If I hold coins on my cold private wallet I will never get email notifications of coin swaps and will miss the coin swap deadline and if that happens my coins on my cold wallet become useless digital 1's and 0's  Shocked
