Everything is unstable as long as there is a pandemic. Businesses halted operations due to supply problems. Supplies for a specific business takes too long to arrive beacuse of the tight security and of course shipment crews needs to be quarantined everytime they cross borders. That is why small businesses are affected and we workers as well. I know the only thing that will help me survive this crisis is cryptocurrency that is why I am active here again because fiat had failed me.

What is your story with fiat and cryptocurrency during pandemic? This is again the battle of centralized and decentralized assets and activity in the middle of a crisis. In your own experiences and opinion which of the two will win?
I'm sorry for whatever happened to you but is fiat responsible for all this? I think you got that wrong, Fiat isn't the reason why the virus went viral, it's just that many businesses and companies are running offline and to limit the virus spread jobs have to be put on halt, the only option left is online jobs and thank God we have crypto cos if crypto never existed many life won't be changed by now

I'm still thankful that I had my work still(I'm working at hospital as a nurse) but I'm still continuing to venture in the bitcoin industry hoping that I can earn here aside from my work. My salary already suffice my monthly expenses but I need to save and earn more money and this is one of the way I can do that.
That's good, dude. We're quite the same but we have different work. I'm a teacher at a university here in our place. Like you, my monthly salary is just enough in order for me to live and to survive but I'm not just thinking for the short term. I'm focusing on the long term goals and to do that, I find it necessary to have another source of income which, in my case, is in the form of bitcoin.

Anyway, keep safe dude. You're the modern day heroes during this crisis. Kudos to you!

Looking on the long term is very important for all of us. Having a goal and working towards is key in my opinion. That is probably a common interest of most people here on the forum. Working and investing with crypto currencies can make a big difference in times of need. I am glad I could already build a small crypto portfolio and hope to be able to grow it with more alt coins in 2021.

Yes I got made redundant earlier in the year.

Now I  lost my health too.

I hate 2020

We all do, glad that we are still alive, 2020 is a learning experience for all of us here that we need to save for rainy days and we need to take care of our health, life is full of uncertainty now, we never thought that a virus as serious as this can cause many to lose their love ones and their job, but we'll soon going to get up from this.

Really sorry about losing your job, it's been a rough time everywhere around the world since the pandemic kicked in, businesses all over the affected countries has been halted or closed till further notice this has made alot of people jobless at the moment, but there's not much we can do right now, also cryptocurrency alone can not guarantee you payment every single month, I believe the best thing you can do right now is to learn a skill so you can be able to perform online jobs on platforms like fiverr and get paid handsomely.

Today's pandemic has brought drastic and dramatic changes particular to many business companies. Same situation in our country, some workers became unemployed from private companies and decided to look for job opportunity via online. I am one of those workers who have lost their jobs due to the negative impact of COVID and I got so lucky because in the midst of, me, being unemployed, I have been able to continue working through here.

Thank you so much for opening up about this issue because I am certain, many people also experience losing their jobs because of COVID crisis, the same way we do.

However, despite unemployment from walk-in companies and agencies, we are still lucky and blessed because we have various job opportunities via online that await for us to try and explore.  Wink

I can confirm this. I have been buying services on such platforms for several years. And since March 2020 I have been observing that the prices are getting cheaper and cheaper. For simple programming jobs, I was paying $ 8-10 an hour last December. I am currently seeing offers from freelancers with very good ratings of $ 4-5/hr. The fall in prices is even more severe for other services.

If the rates have fallen by this much in such a short time, then it is definitely as a result of the pandemic. But programming jobs used to be quite expensive 10-15 years ago. But then a lot of freelancers from the developing nations such as India and the Philippines entered the market and this caused a reduction in the rates. At the same time, freelancers from the EU/US are no longer active, as the payrates are too low for them.

When there are losses for sure there will also come towards us to fill all that losses. We may have lost our jobs during these hard times but eventually we will regain that after we can have a vaccine next year. Time will surely heal all these struggles and we will get our lives back. We must be strong and courageous.

This is the wrong attitude. If you have lost your job, then that means that you don't have necessary skills to survive in an economic recession. The best way to move forward is to gain new skills. And this is the optimum time, as you have plenty of spare time. If you wait for vaccination to get completed, then you may sit idle for one or two years. And even after the situation returns to the pre-COVID levels, the job market may remain in a depressed state for some more time.

some people luck some not, that's what describes the current situation.
but of course new jobs will be opened because the pandemic is taking a very long time, the government will definitely provide solutions to reduce unemployment due to this outbreak.

I think the pandemic has only accentuated the problems that already existed.  the world of employers has been in crisis for years, the cuts to the welfare system have always been numerous and in strategic sectors (for which we are paying the consequences) ie Health and Education, while Research is done only by companies, with the sole purpose of  of profit.

You don't need to be frustrated, Mate, even though you don't enjoy the increase in bitcoin at the moment at least you already have a lot of altcoins in your basket, in 2021 many people say that there will be altcoins season and at that time you can enjoy the investment results

Prices don't go up on their own. It requires solid reasons. We all know why the Bitcoin prices moved up during the last 2-3 months. There was a strong reason for the bull run. And that is why the Bitcoin dominance rose from 57% to 71%. But now coming to the altcoins, they don't have any good news to show for the last few years. Their prices have gone up, because of the secondary/indirect effect from Bitcoin.

It is hard for me to admit such a thing and it is sad to say but I am 1 of the many people who has lost my job as a result of the pandemic.

My country provides money to help the citizens get by without having to lose everything we have and had to work so hard for.  Without this help I would be in trouble.

I feel real bad hearing about some people like Americans who the government doesnt want to pay you enough money to survive.

Yes and not the dream I had I mind for my family either.

I had a good job and I am used to providing for them.

Just another part of the huimiliation.

But my dad gave me a kick  up the ass when I complained.

He said "Yeah, you and every aircraft pilot, cabin crew, hospitality worker etc. etc."

So don't feel too special, its everyone who is screwed.

So hope with vaccine could bring back this pandemic gone and you can get your job back and free to go any where.

A doctor in my country said that vaccines will not eliminate this pandemic because vaccines only function to slow the spread, so a health protocol is still needed to really minimize the spread to a minimum.  Since the pandemic emerged until the arrival of a vaccine in my country, the case of covid in this country is still increasing.  So cooperation between the government and the community is urgently needed to solve this pandemic.

The Covid 19 pandemic has devastated all sectors of life, especially the economic sector. Many workers other than civil servants were fired and their salaries were reduced, including me. My salary was reduced by 50% and then sent off until the company improved. One way to survive is to be active in crypto again, and for the past two months I have been making money from trading, especially in November and December, which has exceeded my monthly salary many times over, so that at least I can save for the next few months. while waiting for this pandemic to end.

Good wishes for all for 2021 and pray that it brings all the prosperity, happinesses in life. Jobs markets will open up now as economy has started to get little bit on track now . Still it would take some time for 100% but faster the recovery better for the world to start living the normal lives again and everyone gets back their lost jobs .
Not to be bitter but i guess we would really be taking an another run for some lockdowns considering of the new existence of the new strain of corona virus.
This is indeed a bad news because this will create an another big problem that will surely pile up.

This will surely make this situation gets longer.

Safety protocol should always be practice with or without this available vaccines, you never know what this virus is capable with,

even doctors continued to suggest not to put your guards down, there are many cases that due to uncareful act this virus spread out

and kill a lot of people.

some people luck some not, that's what describes the current situation.
but of course new jobs will be opened because the pandemic is taking a very long time, the government will definitely provide solutions to reduce unemployment due to this outbreak.

Partly agree with you. The problems we now face were already there before the pandemic. Now the crisis brings them to the surface. And I think that this is just the beginning. The virus will be defeated one day but the economic aftermaths will stay for longer. All instruments to get out of a financial crisis have already been used in the last financial crises back in 2008/2009. This is what worry me more than the virus itself.

What other choice they have other than printing more money? That's their only option. Otherwise the whole system will go down and nobody wants that. Tbh, the system needs to go down because it is unhealthy like this. That's why "the great reset" stuff are being discussed a lot lately probably.

But how is that going to happen without hurting lots of people? Impossible. The system is going down whether they print or not. This is the end.
