Extracted this from page 10 para 35 that dude made crazy returns just from his tweets about the ICO lol.
That looks very interesting data but in this case, if that would be very good if the name of ico that has already promoted by mcafee will be mentioned on that table too. I think dent will be the one of project that has already promoted by mcafee. Dude, 11 tweets for 6 million dolars is insane. I have been getting scammed by dent too.

Although I guess it's probably (well) deserved, I can also almost see the news coming out and telling that crypto is bad because it encourages tax evasion and so on... He's a public figure (after all) and he did try quite badly to associate his name with crypto industry.
Likely going to be the thoughts of those speculators out of crypto will think. Does that mean I will no longer get pop ups from that McAfee web advisor trash? I have no clue how it got onto my computer but for some reason I can't get rid of it. Good riddance anyways
Uninstall the anti-virus and check your control panel then go to programs. Do uninstall what you suspect that have brought you that. If nothing happens and it's still in there, the plugins/extensions could be the culprit from the browser you use.

If he will end up in jain, than his promise of eating a penis might be executed quicker than he thought. he is experienced shark in these waters, and i do not think that he will go down easily, not to mention that tax evasion was primary reason for arrest, not promoting crypto scams
I have real doubts that he even know that he was a part of promotion. Lots of crypto scam project just used his name and announce that he is their advisor or promoter. I remember only few cases that he really promoted something other than his dex. And it is hard to call it "promotion", as he just tweet few line about the project (not for free of course) and the projects already point finger on it saying: "look, John McAfee supports us!"

I understand but, it does feel good to finally see him pay for his actions. I lost a good chunk of money with his endorsed projects first with SETHER, and then with another project don't even remember the name lol.
I think the second could be GHOST or you mean ESH. He dumped his hodling and made the coin crash and people who bought because of him lost hugely. But ghost is coming back, around $0.40. Anyway, I think that his arrest won't be good for his person and not that it will affect cryptocurrency at large.

I think it's mostly likely for not paying the US government rather than endorsing any scams. Spain's judiciary has been extra favorable for financially accused billionaires for quite a time. But the real deal would be how largely the US goes after the extradition and how useful the spanish court would they find the money stack of McAfee. Though McAfee is a controversial person, he's one of the well know person in tech world who is all into crypto.

He wasn't just a bad influence in the crypto industry, he has a zombified influence on his followers to the point that they easily would think he's always right whenever he made a call. No questions asked, "just do it" kind of stuff because McAfee says so.
His influence was ... mixed. He made a lot of noise and helped increasing the awareness for Bitcoin. On the other hand he did indeed a lot of bad to the altcoin scene, among many other (ICO) scammers. And indeed, unfortunately, many followed his words because they were expecting that he did some background check for the projects he advertised.

At one side there is reason to rejoice, because an influencer with a hidden agenda was caught, but again for a lot of people this could be cause for stress because of the precedent set here. As for Mcafee not knowing he was part of the promotion is a laughable idea in itself!

I know it is a bit of harsh, but tell me one thing about McAfee which isn't laughable. The guy is pathetic and was making money off of too trustful people believing in his name

Jhon McAfee is not part of the ICO project but only as a promotion but in the past the projects that McAfee talked about were very good on average and many joined to invest in ICOs I don't think McAfee was the person behind the ICO.

Obviously, he was a good marketer but the projects he was marketing have disappeared with the money raised from the investors. I realize that McAfee is just a tool for ICO projects to make money. Clearly, marketing is just a marketing tool, and they are not a solution.

Yep, same boat as yours. I thought that dude was cool in crypto but then made some BS dares in Twitter that he can't even do like betting his D for Bitcoin reaching $1M and his prediction is way off. Just the typical troll you see in the internet everyday with just a title shining his popularity.

This guy Mcafee must be getting senile, you know US government is after you and you decided to go to country where there is an extradition agreement with US, I don't know who he thinks he is, he has done well for the space but promoting some of these scammy ICOs raise red flag to me, I just hope he still have some cash to good lawyers and pay his fine

He is someone who has helped many scam projects to raise money from the market. A lot of investors have lost their money by believing in him after seeing his campaign, to this day they have not got their money back. Everyone who saw the ico hype of 2017 knows how this guy fooled investors and helped scammers.
Now he has been arrested, for the misdeeds he has committed and illegally earned money. He should have been arrested earlier

I think he will eventually get away with the charges by paying a penalty to SEC board. I am sure he would have made millions it dollars by shilling those Ico's and he will be paying a small amount comparitively to get out .
It is difficult to know at this point but it is possible the SEC wants to make an example out of him and he gets a very long sentence, let this be a warning to all of those that believe they can get away with anything in this market, it is true the market is unregulated and the freedom we have can be very refreshing but if you scam people and if you do this long enough and your scams are huge as well then sooner or later the law is going to find you and you will have to pay for those crimes.

He endorsed a lot scams, that tax evasion case could not be enough for all his wrong doings. Mcafee is definitely one of the worst personalities in crypto space, he’s really a bad influencer and still a lot of people in his agendas.

Dunno about you guys but I am really happy with this step from SEC
John McAfee was hiding for a long time from the authorities and finally he is arrested, may be it is a master plan for him to get to the US then stand for presidency as he was talking about it for a very long time . I am not following any of his past allegations and i am not sure about the truth but i am certain that he promoted many scam projects in the cryptocurrency space even though he is not certain about the project nor having any information of the team members who scammed millions of dollars where John McAfee promoted.

I have kind of mixed feelings for him but yes it was always on the cards because he was the one who openly campaigned against the govt. Taxes and declared them a forced thing and a robbery and especially when we see this statement with decentralized crypto perspective it does make some sense. But then again he should have followed all the local rules and laws in his residence place.

John McAfee previously had problems with the tax authorities. He hid on a yacht to avoid arrest for tax evasion. Obviously, he should have made decent money and relatively easy to solve his problems with the tax authorities. It is permissible that John McAfee took this issue too lightly. For that he was responsible.

And now, he was totally busted. My conclusion is, if I were him/them, I wouldn't associate my name to cryptocurrency publicly. Why? By the time you have your pockets being full, that's the time that people will then take advantage of you (For example, it will be the government). McAfee was too obvious to avoid taxes since he is promoting a platform that would eliminate his taxes. And now, he was confiscated and need for him to pay those taxes. There are different ways to reduce tax legally, but never this kind. I hope McAfee will be able to recover from this. But since he has a lot of money, then probably he has to hire the crypto lawyers in town that expert on this case. Good luck to him.
