He got this and he deserves this.
Almost all of us know how McAfee does to crypto but not a way he promotes for better but helping people to become a fool and to believe what he's saying. It's time for him to repay what he does for us and to the government but I doubted he can be put in jail for long because of his age and his money to bail him out from the jail.

His age doesn't matter a lot. He will get what he has deserved it.

I hope that the SEC will have also charged him to bring back the money that has already gotten from created promotion for the scam icos. he has been scamming so many people and do you know that if he also created some shitcoins too.

I hope SEC will also try to trace the icos that have already promoted by him and sued those icos too.

Tax evasion is basically the method governments get the famous bad people at this point, obviously he did some accounting illegalities and that is why I understand that tax evasion makes sense, however lets be honest with each other there are tons of super rich people who do tax evasion, anyone remember panama papers?

Basically all the wealthy people take their money out of country (and it was mainly to panama) and do not pay taxes on their money, and I do not even mean money digitally, I mean literally in cash form. So, do not tell me that tax evasion is a criminal offense because it is only criminal if you do not pay government their share, instead of paying 1 billion in taxes, you pay politicians 100 million and put the other 900 aside. Mcafee probably didn't do that hence why he got jailed.

I don't really understand why you are so happy about it. Arrested, yes. And why you care about it? Or does John personally get your pants dirty while you sleep?
I don't understand why you dislike of McAfee in general, and I don't really understand why so many happy emotions there from the fact of his arrest. "John McAfee was arrested - again".

Probably, some people just envy his luxury life. Some simply envy his achievements (or money). There are bunch of people that hate him for his antivirus software. Even though since Intel bought it in 2010, John should be no longer connected to it. But most hate him for his price predictions Smiley

Some people are happy coz he got arrested because they lost money in the scam ICOs he promoted, that's all.
I also invested in SETHER but I am neither happy nor sad, simple I don't care anymore, the past is the past.

To Buy, or not to Sell? That is the question.

Lol and here I thought he finally got arrested because of some stupid shits he did (like wearing a pantie as mask). At least one shiller is out of the crypto space for good. This news will probably plummet his reputation (don't know if there's anything left anyway though).

I still remember when he predicted that verge would reach 15$ then goes back on his words after dumping. I got to admit that I was one of those fools who bought too.

In Russia we used to have our own McAfee, his name was Mavrodi and he used to create and promote hyips. His projects used to be advertised even on TV. He is said to had died back in 2018 of a heart attack, but I think he had just changed the personality)

Losing his reputation is enough, no one will listen to him now he will be despise by people and the community for leading them to dubious projects and making hype projects that are known scam now, he can still go to jail it depends on his offense and the ruling of the judiciary, McAfee's online venture in Crypto is now over.

What are the forecasts of the prices lol? What are you talking about? John is just a funny old man. Like your neighbor who tells how he fought in Vietnam and how they repaired the helicopter with girls tights? Everything that he does in the public field should be divided into two and perceived ironically and no more lol. I don't know, I love McAfee - one of the few people who is just nice and fun to watch. Well, he is also quite charismatic, which is quite a valuable quality.

I think it's just envy of what they see from McAfee in the public field - a kind of grandfather's frenzy and all the other joys of a rich old age.
And as we know, envy is a serious sin, so as for me, you should not once again pay serious attention to the tricks of a mischievous old man and just be happy that such people are still alive (who know how to live).

Many new projects were promoted by him and ended up losing investors. I thought that with his big name, he should be able to develop the cryptocurrency market better but it seems he just wants to make a profit for a moment

This should have happened, McAfee promoted too many projects without him knowing it was good or not, and the proof was that many scam projects were promoted by him.

yah, this is the right course of action from the SEC but I think it will hurt the crypto market quite a bit. McAfee is a billionaire in the crypto market, if he is caught, his account will be frozen or put in public funds. that would inevitably lead to either a daily volume shortage or an immediate sell-off.
If all the evidence is unfavorable for McAfee then the year-end will be a disaster for the crypto market. Do you guys think so ? Undecided

I think he will eventually get away with the charges by paying a penalty to SEC board. I am sure he would have made millions it dollars by shilling those Ico's and he will be paying a small amount comparitively to get out .
This is where the problem lies most of the time with such prosecution and more even from the glorified SEC, once the culprit meet the term of charges and pay off, he is released. And all this people have made so much from fraud to pay for what they request. Mc afree is not new to all those allegations and wonder how USA might say he is not within their arrest jurisdiction but the Spanish. I dont have anything against him, never in project he fraud but he should be prosecuted for some of the scam, we need caution for scammers.

John McAfee, the 74-year-old software magnate-turned-crypto-bull, has been arrested in Spain on allegations of tax evasion, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. His extradition to the U.S. is pending.

As I know he is among the well-known people in crypto. I saw him promote some crypto project with his twitter handler and those project also use it for their marketing purpose. Some people might be very happy for seeing him in prison because many lost their funds because of him. He has a lot of money so it won't be hard for him to overcome his tax evasion problem.

Below you will find the 55 pages COMPLAINT filed against John McAfee, Jimmy Gale Watson, Jr. Document by Securities and Exchange Commission..(Best, Richard) (Entered: 10/05/2020)

Dunno about you guys but I am really happy with this step from SEC

He is a millionier so I think he will be out very soon by paying some money in SEC board.

not sure if im going to be happy at first because i dont know if his arrest will be beneficial for btc or to cryptos but after reading and knowing that this guy has involved on tax evasion , its a good thing that the guy was caught .

we dont need an example like that and all people that do same illegal acts should also suffer the same fate as him but while writing i remember that this guy have done or contributed some good deeds before on crypto , thats the the only thing that make me sad a little  .

While I can't say I'm happy about another man being unfortunate, I'm glad that these so called "influencers and promoters" that mislead members of the crypto community because of their own selfish gains are finally being brought to book.  There are countless people that have been rekt just because he "endorsed" those ICOs and worst, he don't care who gets rekt as far as he gets his pay cut from the project, he's good. It's just too bad that they might let him off the hook easily.

Money loves silence. Why you tell at every corner that you earned 24 million advertising ICO and many of them were a scam. Today Arthur also resigned from the post of the head of Bitmex, to everyone who acts openly will come and ask for everything

This guy, John McAfee did have problems with the taxman. And he tried to hide and be an unseen person so that he can prevent paying taxes and also avoid getting caught. But now that he got busted then many of the so called victims of  their gullibility are out to get even with him. If not in court then in social media where he made money at the expense of the losers in crypto. He made millions marketing ICOs and then gave bad predictions with Bitcoin. Anyway he has lots of money so he will be able to get the best lawyers and get away with this.
