Newbies and how to rank up easily

I have an old friend in this forum who has been here for a while now and have witness so many development on the frorum,  it was easy to rank up on this forum when the merit system was not in place all that was needed then was to have sufficient Post's with certain amount of activities to rank up on all level and ranks. But with the introduction of the merit system the power is now in the hand of the member of the forum and how good and informative you posts is that will be worth some merits.
So my advice to us newbies on the forum is to create good and quality contents, high quality Posts and create thread that add value to the forum.

Also quite surprising is the high number of members on this forum who have friends here.

Maybe it's me, but I do not know one single person in my entire social network, who is active on these boards. I must be a very lonely guy.

I made most of my Merits when I decided to remove my signature for months, and realized this is a great place with a lot of interesting or funny or educational posts, packed with so many people from so many cultures, characters and backgrounds.

The higher your obsession with Merit, the less chance you'll be receiving any.

So my advice to us newbies on the forum is to create good and quality contents, high quality Posts and create thread that add value to the forum.

People used to and still occasionally do merit these "write quality posts to earn merit" kinda "guides", so it became a trend for merit fishing. I suggest everyone to think twice before meriting a post by a newbie who gives out advises on this board, posts "newbie motivations" and so on. Don't do this if it's because of pity, it's worse in the long run for them and for others. Let them actually try to apply those ideas to themselves.

Thank you all for your replies after all where there is no criticism there can never be growth and development, am here to learn and still learning, so long am not violating the rules of the forum. I believe my posts will improve me and others in my level of learning.

Every member in this forum must make a good contribution and even advance this forum, with informative posts and provide insights or ideas to other people, it will get merit. It is necessary to know that quality posts will invite many people to have a good discussion, I think it is necessary  be improved in the comments every where.

The merit system has been implemented for a long time but now many users have done a lot of their best in this forum with many improvements.

There are many people who say that creating quality posts makes you receive merits and there are also some who says that this is common advice for every beginner, I don't get some member who seems like they don't agree on some members with low rank who posted the advise even though they are saying gold things, not just because the member is low rank it doesn't mean that they don't have good things to say. You created the account more than one year ago and was inactive for almost one year. Last month, woke up and tried to rank up easily. 

I can see how you feel it is easy to rank up. You received merit too easily.

Your advise and your post are contradictory with each other. Please stop create bored-to-death topics to hunt merit, you won't get it.

Merit system is implemented to filter truly qualified members and members who only create many accounts for farming. The merit system has many positive effects on the forum, some cloned accounts that are only used for spamming have decreased and are starting to be abandoned because they will no longer be of use in this forum.

I also started out as a Newbie who had to make several posts to move up the rankings. But I do realize that making quality posts is better and more appreciated. The merit system will indeed prevent us from getting in rank and will be more difficult, but that is the challenge, how far can we survive.

I hatw merit system before due to so hard to rank up. But realizing its purpose then I can see that addition of this only added a growth to every users to be able to produce quality one. Clearly it is designed for improvement of post and avoid spammer to easily rank up which is quite fair. Once a user is serious enough to make good post then ranking or acquiring merits would never be hard for them. Its proven effective as I saw some newbies stepping up their game to the next level.

If we focus on the accounts created during 2020, the number seems pretty low. Only 287 currently have made it to Jr. Member, which denotes one or a combination of three things:

 a) Newbie accounts are finding it very difficult to be merited.

 b) There are not that many Newbie accounts created with the real intent of putting effort into their posts.

 c) There’s a pretty large drop in account creation per se (as in posting activity).

My perception is set on the latter two. When it comes to those that, being created in 2020, ring a bell, most of those above Member rank do, and though not necessarily technically articulate, they do put a severe amount of time and effort into their posts.

Well, just so you know, you've ranked up to a Jr. Member now at OP. Congrats but then, the race to ranking up has and still continues to be a desire for many new intakes once you discover the system. That's good, if it brings out the best in you and ensures that you stay enthusiastic towards the cryptocurrency course.

It's not going to be easy, with every requirements doubling at each increase in growth phase but then, it surely gets better as you grow with experience. The merit and activity series are a merge of ensuring you stay active to attain certain number of merits in 14days and your being active, creating and dropping comments that defines a situation more accurately fills your meter to the desired ranks as you acquire both activities and ranks. In the chart dropped by @DdmrDdmr, it shows a statistics of influx of newbie accounts with a already or later defined perspective of the forum. Denoting not just the frequency of created accounts in a day to be relatively 1-2 per day which seems rather low for a worldwide forum but then, the growth defines how the intakes feel the forum and from what perspective it's been viewed. Very evident in the growth path shown, it's more likely that the 1 account that grew to Sr. Member not only came early but stayed true to the forum rules, remained enthusiast and focused mainly on contributing rather positively towards the development of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. This is most likely for other accounts which attained the full member and member rank but not so likely for the ones that remained Jr. Members and Newbies. Hence, the steps to take lies right with you but then, you choose the way you would go.

Anyway, it's of note that in your bid to acquire merits, it's against the rule that you beg or sort to buy them as it could be gotten rather freely through active participation and quality posts. These serve as a reward for a heart felt passion, researched and refined information poured out in writing. It might come easy for some and difficult for others but, which ever part it is for you, stay the course and remain enthusiastic and we would grow thus, shaping the edges of cryptocurrency while we reap it's fruit.

Every character you are adding to this forum is saved on a server which has to be paid for by the community that supports this forum and gives donations to get it going.

Well, I won't deny it. I mean, even myself have seen this issue before but not always though. Because there are still several members who can appreciate the post or thread of lower rank members.
But we can't blame them because before it was totally a mess, shitpost is everywhere and usually they were made by the lower ranks, they can even freely rank up with just the number of their post.
Now that the merit system implemented, this totally sorts out the entire forum which is good. Personally, if you were a newbie that wanted to rank up and you think you are a good poster you can enter this sector coz there are members here who are willing to help the newbies.

I remember there are several campaigns which force their participants to spam just to meet the certain required post or to get the maximum for the day to earn more bitcoins in return, and the example for that is the yobit campaign since when this campaign exist a rampant spamming happens since there's no one controlling it and any post has been count since it's automatic. Now the merit system change everything and we see lesser spam compare before, also the managers are doing a good job for selecting good participants to be part on their campaign.

You don't need to be committed in this forum just to rank up. I believe that this forum is created for us all who knew cryptocurrency can share ideas, help solving problems, learning to be secured and other things that will be good for the community. After all, merit system is made for it to happen since there are postets that made this forum flooded with spams and scams.
