In 2019 there is much speculation that Libra will become the king of crypto and compete with Bitcoin. And we have entered Q4 2020, Libra has no news. Even like dying before the war, maybe now Libra is not what we expected before.

It's been a long time since I saw any new development update of LIBRA and the last thing I read was they will create their own country based stable coins to get past the regulatory issues they were facing.

I am not sure the Libra has been launched by Facebook or the delay will be longer than expected. My general perception let me rethink the current situation of Libra and I doubt the project will be successful for the next 2 years. The Facebook team should be professional to find the perfect time for the launch events because timing is more important than the price of the coin.
Libra (as Facebook says, at least) is supposed to be launched this autumn — October, as I do remember. Although a bunch of crypto guys have already lost their keen interest to this FB coin, I am sure the launch of Libra will be the greatest even on the market.

It's been almost a year, since I last heard something from Libra huh. I already forgot about the project and I believe the hype died that's why we aren't getting any news lately or I am just plainly wrong because a big development could've happen. Regardless of what happens anyway, I ain't convinced to invest to it although I use Facebook, it doesn't mean I support everything that comes from it.

There are also rumours that Libra will never see the light of the day. What do you think?
Nope, they are back into the action after few months here you can find the latest updates: https://libra.org/en-US/updates/Association has been rearranged and they are trying to get the regulations right and will launch their project in few countries as first trial for sure.

I think the rumors are true because to a good number of people Libra is dead and forgotten. Seriously I can't even remember the last time I heard anything about it until today which shows more potential projects has taken the minds and interest of people. Also, I think last year or thereabouts (can't really remember) that I came across a posts showing that many of their partners has left the project, so I believe for partners to leave a project before it gets started shows that the interest is no longer there and hence the project is marked to be doomed. Furthermore, considering the fact that hype is one of the driving force of new projects in the crypto space, Libra's hype is gone and many projects which faced this type of situation as Libra never succeeded again; therefore I think it's better focusing on other potential projects or on major coins.

Libra has been discussed a lot in the past but I don't expect it to launch anytime soon as there are a lot of legal hurdles to them right now. Facebook is based in the US and the United States has only one central bank that can issue money. I think Facebook won't be able to do that without the amendment of the law.
yes I think it is like that too, that Facebook still has many obstacles in launching their own coins, in fact from 2019 - 2020 there have been no new developments from their project. because this is still against the law in that country, especially the US. crypto has not been well received by the AS country. There’s no news about Libra and they should make at least the announcement if they want to push this through. As far as I know, Libra is not US based but since Facebook is her mother company, the pressure is high because of the US government. I don’t know if its possible to operate outside the US so Libra can at least start their own currency and limits the usage to the US citizen.

It is hard to make a correct analysis if there is no update for months. The Libra project is delayed by devs and there is a purpose behind this, in my opinion. The basket cryptocurrency index idea is not possible nowadays, so delaying the launch event is reasonable. Zuckerberg should do something new for increasing the popularity of Libra coin, otherwise, new competitors will squeeze the Libra project in the future. Instead of going all in like other users said here, I prefer to diversify other potential altcoins and take the profit which will be invested in the next round of another potential ICO-IEO.

At the beginning of the launch of the Libra token, so many were enthusiastic to own it. Large companies have joined in the launch period. Due to government regulations, Libra has been stuck until now. Almost the whole world knew that Libra was going to be the 2nd bitcoin. Now it's just a name.

I think it was first spring of 2019 that people actually started to talk about Libra a lot. In fact in spring of 2019 the price went from something like 3.5k to as high as nearly 14k if I am not wrong when the Libra project was discussed, it created a big wave of interest only due to the fact that some unknown and small probably scammy company created USDT and saw this much interest so Libra would definitely be huge without a doubt.
However one thing is for sure, Libra is not happening right away, it never was like that in that time, but people assumed it would be different, it would be like summer of 2019 when it came out, now we know that is not like that. So, we realized it won't so the attention and interest it gets is not that big anymore these days.

that's quite bad though, basically the regulation wasn't friendly with the project called Libra because of their operations in the past. Currently, they're redesigning the project Libra for a single currency compared to their initial multi-currency stablecoin also, they building a better framework for Libra payment system in compliance with the regulators. Hope to see them come out of this hurdles to build a better digital currency.

Hey everybody It was in 2019 when Facebook announced its own digital currency Libra. Some have been waiting anxiously, some not. A thorough overview of this crypto can be found here: What is Libra? There are also rumours that Libra will never see the light of the day. What do you think? Cheers, Karl Bitcasino.ioI think Libra will be here but it will have to face delays and regulatory pressures like they saw initially and i expect a weak and centralized kind of coin in shape of libra coming out in 2022-23 with all access to the data provided to govt agencies and authorities. I do not expect libra to be a real, full decentralized crypto coin.

Are you dealing with some sort of SEO problem? Why are you writing stuff that has nothing to do with bitcasino.io and try to get people to read your articles there? I get that SEO is a very important thing and getting users is very important but you are already good anyway, you could just get people for being you without need for SEO this way.
About the question, Libra already hired some executives so it means it is not stopping right now, at least it is not a scraped idea just yet, doesn't mean they are never going to stop and publish it but it also means that they are trying hard to make it a reality, so that means facebook is still working on it. I assume it will happen but it will be very late like 2-3 years later at least and when it happens it is not going to be as good as people imagined.

How can you be so sure that Libra can come back 2-3 years? Did you not know that the biggest investor (Mark Zuckerberg) has left the development process, it means that there is something wrong with this platform and disagrees with Mark which ultimately makes him better off than destroying his reputation, which is currently the owner of Facebook and Instagram. it can be said that Libra has no more development and nothing can guarantee future success.

If they know that they will have problem with regulation they should make it more friendly to the country where they want to registered. In my own opinion it's a close door already since the people behind this idea is abandon it already and the possible customers and users of that coins is already gone which is Facebook and Instagram users .

Libra still has many obstacles there, the regulations and government in the USA still don't seem to side with cryptocurrencies, many projects in the USA are still not developing, or the average project from the USA is taken down by the SEC, this is what LIBRA faces there. It may take Libra a little more time to launch.

What? Libra? I thought it was renamed to something we'd call "Novi" according to this CNBC article. To my knowledge, it has now been made limited to Facebook's known partners to use its infrastructure in building wallet(s) after approval from their authorised personnel. What's next for it? Well, I hope its death is. I'm not very sure it'll recover from all the anti-campaign it has received - although it's quite interesting how so many individuals, companies and governments opposed it. Libra will be an insane privacy concern more than anything else. Noivi seems to be just the name of the wallet - I don't think the coin has been renamed. According to The Verge, Facebook is renaming Calibra, the digital wallet it hopes will one day be used to access the Libra digital currencies, Novi.

First of all, you need to remember that Libra is just a stablecoin, which at first was planned to be issued with collateral with a whole basket of different currencies, and then, due to various legal circumstances, the number of these currencies became much smaller. In 2019, the emergence of Libra could and would have caused some resonance. Now, there are so many stablecoins that even Facebook's stablecoin won't matter much. Especially after the finance ministers of the member states of the European Union made a general decision not to allow the circulation of Libra on their territory if released. Many states are now working to create national stablecoins for central banks. They should be very well received by the population, as they will be issued by their own governments and will be more credible than the stablecoins of various commercial structures. If Libra is released, it will be talked about first and it will become one of so many stablecoins.

According to The Verge, Facebook is renaming Calibra, the digital wallet it hopes will one day be used to access the Libra digital currencies, Novi. Whatever, but the fact is what you said - that this project is not going to succeed and not even start at the first place. When Mark Suckerberg was considered a thief to have stolen the idea of Facebook from Winklevoss brothers, I don't think that this Libra project, which is meant to work by getting pegged with various national currencies and help Central authorities know our spends too frequently, is going to make any difference to our privacy needs but will only add a lot more chaos to it. Maybe, some more good news here - https://cointelegraph.com/news/g7-will-block-libra-launch-until-regulations-in-place
