You have decided to become a member of this forum? It is wonderful.
It is possible that you were invited by one of your friends, and he promised you earnings in large quantities?
The first rule is no, this is not entirely true!

The first thing that you should understand when planning to be here, that this forum is not about money or how to make it. If you are interested in cryptocurrencies, bitcoins, and everything related to them, you can safely stay.

The second thing you need to understand is that this forum is not about merits, and not about how to get them here.

Well, now the third rule. It is necessary to correctly understand the first and second rules, they both combine the possibility of obtaining new interesting knowledge, with which you can both earn and increase your rating on the forum.

What is not necessary here? Smiley

No need to post new threads and ask for help on where to read the forum rules. If you are literate and not blind, you can see everything for yourself.

There is no need to copy information from third-party sites, thinking that by doing so you increase a good opinion of yourself among others.

No need to copy the information even with the link provided. After all, you are not the only one who knows how to surf the Internet.

No need to paraphrase other people's articles in any way.

If you did find an interesting article, tell us about it in your own words, but then provide the source. This is necessary in order not to mislead people about the authenticity of the information. Also, check if your information has already been posted on the forum several times.

I want those people who are tired of daily spam about the same thing to write here. Feel free to write wishes for newbies about how not to act on the forum.

And I would like to wish all newcomers that they stop pretending to be little blind kittens who cannot learn anything on their own. You can do it yourself.
Grow up! Cool

Since 2018, what did you contribute to prevent signature ads removed globally?

I see they tried to say they want to be a good members of the forum. Why do they need to say so, I don't know.

Silently reading (rules, guides, articles), and when have enough knowledge, leave replies to help newbies or others who raise questions and need help. Better and if they are confident, open a topic as guide to contribute better. It is not required and newbies don't need to challenge themselves to create guides.

Search before create a new topic, new guides. Most of things on the forum are already been answered (for basic things not advanced). Newbies need basics and rarely to see they can contribute advanced things.

They feel advice like mine is harashment but it is the truth. Don't make noise and try to say I want to be a good member, I want to contribute. Don't say this, don't make noise, contribute and some days you can create a topic to tell what you contribute. The community will much appreciate it.

What are behind the noise if some of them end with plagiarism, permanent bans?

What is not necessary here? Smiley

No need to post new threads and ask for help on where to read the forum rules. If you are literate and not blind, you can see everything for yourself.

Problem is, newbies see other newbies getting merit for the same stuff, so naturally they want it too. And then you get all these "how can i be best member ever" topics in this section, where newbies are writing what people like to see.

Those are all good advices and i completely agree with each and every point, but there is same problem as above, they simply see others doing the same, getting merit or simply filling signature quota in an easy way so they do the same. Newbies just copy what they see.

Members should simply start ignoring ( I know I do) topics like this one that appeared today Learn and think for better growth . If that newbie knows how to open 4 topics in 1 day, surely he can find rules and guidelines. Someone has a real problem and real question? Of course everyone should help and answer, but to write in such poorly written and incoherent topic is in my opinion waste of time, and just encourages other newbies to spam Beginners&Help section with similar stuff.

Good contribution @lovesmayfamilis for Newbies but am sad, about some of the hastiness of newbie to just avoid reading, pinned message are omitted by -newbies- that are made un-missable if you in a board, newbies are to be given a long rope -time to understand- how would you then do that if you don't read?

I don't know, whether if -newbie- first post should be rehearsed/perfect but I know it should not be off nursery school rhymes

I am gonna add some line for newbies which may help them to start their forum journey smoothly.

  • After joining the forum try to spend a good amount of time by reading forum posts and visiting all sections.
  • Before opening a new topic by your own don't forget to learn forum rules and the rules of that specific section where you are going to publish your topic.
  • Don't ignore pinned post which will let you enrich your knowledge vault.
  • Before opening a new topic for getting information about anything try to find first by your own and in most cases you will get your answer without opening a new topic.
  • Whenever you think you can help anyone by providing proper information's don't hesitate to make your reply
  • Scammers are always ready to steal your money but don't give them easy chances.

Just keep in mind without some scammers most user of this forum is ready to help you by providing necessary information's, suggestions and guidelines. Respect them and try to be someone like them.

I always read from the post of other forum members and what I mostly remember on how they know about bitcointalk forum is because their friend tells them that you can earn money in this forum. That is why they think that the forum is money making forum but it's not what they think. Not knowing the real purpose of the forum will resulted in doing something that a newbie shouldn't do.

While a lot of newbies register on here with wrong intentions and idea of what the purpose of the forum is, I still believe we can make the forum a bit more receptive to new members.
Accessing bitcointalk for the first time would put a lot of people off, as it is very different from many other social websites, a new member would have to lurk on the forum for days or weeks to be able to make sense of what's being discussed here along with the do's and dont's. A newbie welcome message, which has been discussed extensively would go a long way in pointing new members to the right direction, without them having to go through so many pages of stickie threads with repetitive information.

Understandably most of the spam on the forum comes from newbies as they make up the bulk of the forum members and are just trying to understand how it works so the learning curve would be a little flat;
• Some are fast learners and get a hang of things pretty quickly,
• Some others are much slower and would try a few approaches before getting that Eureka moment, we have a couple of members start of as ICO shills but are now assets to the forum,
• While some are simply here to spam and view the forum as a means of making money.

The first class would prove to be beneficial members, the second would do well with guidance and perhaps encouragement (this is likely the sub set which makes all the 'how to get merit threads', as they think that is what other members want to read), while the last set is the reason the merit system was created, so as to prevent them from ranking up and actually profiting from the forum while clogging it up with spam.

To be fair, having the intension of earning in the forum is not bad at all, there is virtually nothing wrong about it. Else, what is the essence of the knowledge you tend to gain if not to acquire something with it. It's very necessary that you have this ideas but don't allow it to defeat the purpose for which the forum was made which is basically for interaction.

How do you hope to earn and succeed in Bitcoin without first understanding the bases. For this, the forum has been designed to properly equip new users with the know how on the Bitcoin and Crypto ecosystem. That's why as much as you learn, everyone also learns from you. You've just got to follow rules in your navigation of this forum hence you hit a stone, stumble and fall. This is what the rules guides against.
To keep you safe from scammers who would not only exploit you for your ignorance and take only your coin/token, they also take your time and energy by your participating and sh*t bounties.
You have to be deligent and work in accordance with the forum rules to create a better path for yourself on Bitcoin and Alts. This is why we advocate for learning first because the protection of our cryptosphere is in our hands.

Many of the newbies came to the forum at the invitation of friends. If we draw conclusions, then these friends are among us. Tell them not only about your earnings but also about the forum rules. This will protect your friends from many surprises. Tell more detailed stories about the life of the forum so that later we don't get a bunch of the same questions.

The other half of the newbies have seen enough of YouTube channels, in which, since 2017, they have been calling for earnings on the forum. For all  YouTubers have a proposal to make a video about the correct behavior on the forum, about the merits, ranks, and the negative attitude of the forum community towards plagiarism. Sometimes the video comes to understanding faster.
With these two steps, you will help your friends, and even increase the number of views. Shocked Shocked Shocked

Love what you have to done here as you have said it all. I believe at some point any active user of the forum must have introduced someone to the platform either willingly or they must have been pressured into doing so.  Personally as a result of constantly engaging myself with the forum, I have been asked about the platform by friends and co-workers.

Mostly I start with the rules but first I try to kill any mindset that has to do with then joining the forum just to recieve same weekly earnings they see me recieving as a result of me monetizing my profile. We owe it to the forum to enlightening anyone we introduced. The whole "I'm new here thread, how to get started or find forum rules' etc, is just disgusting sometime to read.

I do understand that some genuine newbie as a result of ignorance do ask those questions but the moment I see same I get the feeling, here's some alt seeking attention.

Thank You. This serves as an additional help and knowledge to a newbie like me. Though I'm just new here in the forum, I can say that I read first and made research too, before exploring and posting anything in the different sides of discussions. For me, being more extra careful and knowing first at least 30-50% information here is much better before taking any actions. I, myself has the full responsibility to where my account will lead to. And monetizing my account through doing some tasks in the Altcoin/Bounties section were already introduced, and I love the idea of earning especially nowadays that I am really in need financially. But despite the urge to earn, I also have the will to share some thoughts in this platform if I am capable of doing so...nothing feels so right when I can also share rather than just getting a lot of information and ideas from the others. Being a good example of a newbie, and the other terms of ranks that I may possibly achieve as time goes by. Smiley

Thank you for the good advice mate, every beginner needs advice from a senior member of this forum, they have already good experience that may help other beginners like me.

As a beginner, I understand some people who don't even understand some topics created in this forum, we can do things to solve this, we can do some:
+ research, there are many sources that we can see online.
+ we can also read first some replies of other members and get the idea about the topic, some members have a better view of the topic than to the one who posted it.
Quote
I want those people who are tired of daily spam about the same thing to write here. Feel free to write wishes for newbies about how not to act on the forum.
Some people commit spamming because of the signature campaign, they just creating a generic reply to meet the number of posts needed by their campaign.

However, it is hard to grow for someone like an ordinary member of the forum. I had been some time in the forum  and hey I still manage to grow like ranking up to full member. I just wish that somehow I could also rank up to the higher position. If it may happen then good but if not then I still be thankful to it. The forum has been always hqve opportunity to learn good things about cryptocurrency and even had the opportunity to earn.
