Begging for merits is not a good idea.

Soliciting for merits is not the best option.
   Vast numbers newbie in the bitcointalk forum, go a long path by taking hideous risk just to satisfying their lazy interest, failing to realize that they stand an elevated probability of being suspend or barn. Some go as far as chatting up the high ranking members asking for merits, this tends to upset most users making them take drastic measures by reporting to the Bitcointalk authorities, leading to abrupt moratorium, either  temporarily or permanently. I’ve come to realise that bitcointalk is not a place for lazy and poor minded individuals, because every stage or rank in bitcointalk forum are earned, users work hard for them they are not handed out to them on a plate of gold, they earn them so begging wouldn’t help you, unless the person you implored is good enough to help you out, but it’s still not advisable. So better buckle up and start working hard, because the people you are begging worked hard for them and there’s nothing hindering you from doing so.  I tried to explain how strict Bitcointalk authorities can be for rule breakers, and I went ahead to explain how Bitcointalk forum exposes stoners to the virtual world, by making them labour hard to achieve their goals and making users know that there are no short cuts in life, I said somethings that I was not presumed to say, but most people didn’t understand my point of view so they berated me, but such is life I had to move on and learn from my past mistakes.

It seems like you're getting "berated" simply because you're preaching about "working hard" and how to "survive the external world" in your previous thread even though you yourself couldn't earn a single merit. Pretty much almost like those "how to earn merit" topics by people who has only 0-5 merits.

If you have known and understood what the merit system is for, then you would already know that it's not a good idea already. For your previous posts as well, can you point out those berating posts that you are talking about? Most of the members there posted valid points that are within your topic.

For me the common of merit looking post is usually a similar thread that has been discussed a dozens time. And it's even worse if the thread doesn't reflect on him.

e.g. Topic discuss about how to earn merit and created by newbie user who doesn't earn any single merit yet.

If you say you want to learn from your past mistakes then I'd suggest you stop making shit posts like this and rather buckle up by putting more effort in researching educational materials that can help promote bitcoin and developing members of this unique forum.
Because from what I've gathered here, Merits are not just given because you think you deserve it but rather it is earned by hardwork and commitment to the forum.

But you really haven’t moved on yet, as your statement claims. By moving on, I presume you mean shifting from bounties to posting decent content, and that takes a while to show both in someone’s posting history, and in the content he provides. People are free to chase their bounties, or engage in regular posting, and even those two are not necessarily (although very often) at conflict.

I recall a few profiles that were very heavily invested into their bounties, whilst at the same time managed to provide good content on the forum. One of them is now a Legendary member, proving that a transition is feasible, albeit not a generalized profile prototype on the forum.

It should not be included as an idea to gain merit in the first place. We should not even give it a thought, as people make an effort to establish a good amount of knowledge, carry out research to learn and understand various topics, so they will be able to share it with the others. You can only rely on yourself to move forward as a member of this forum. Also, based on what you have mentioned, you probably know how most users here work such as working hard, etc, so perhaps you could start applying it to yourself mate.

Begging of merit is prohibited right here on our forum and if the merit sources and other members think that you deserve merit I think they will give it to you it's better to change your perspective right here on the forum like just spamming bounty campaigns and doubting to earn the forum is huge there are a lot of topics and threads that you can learn and helps you to increase your self.

Yep. Let's not kid ourselves, most(probably 99%) of these types of post are just sort of the "legal" way of earning merits lol. Not really as subtle as they think though.

Next time, try to use spacing per paragraph to make your content easy to read and comprehend. This kind of essay like thread with recycle content will not gonna attract readers and hard to receive merit. Make it simple and try to used some graphic materials to visualize your thoughts. In that way, readers can easily understand what you are talking about.

This thread is opinionated and prone on more garbage/recycle reply from other same topic thread. You should lock this as soon as possible since you already expressed your opinion.

It would had been best, if you took your own advice, what you just tried doing with this topic is also begging for merit. Unlike the old days, writing on merit especially how to earn one doesn't give the privilege of recieving merit anymore. It'll be best you take all the advice that have been given by the respondents above and look into making them work for you.

Accounts known to only participants in bounty reports aren't worthy of receiving merits, therefore if you want to start recieving them, you'll have to change your style of participating in the forum.

  honestly, it's a pity that most newbies like myself don't want to learn from the mistakes of others. I can remember vividly when a bounty hunter that was spamming more than 100 bounty links wanted to rank up by making this type of thread with the hopes of getting merit but ended up failing. I won't say I haven't checked the bounty section here but with the various reports of others regarding failing bounties, I just can't afford to spend 3 months for some bucks
