Since the introduction of cryprocurrencies such as bitcoin in our present world, a whole lot who took advantage of it has made tremendous profits from investing and acquiring it. Bitcoin with its global value currently has become an investment tool for many across the globe. It is also a means of storing wealth with the strong hope of heavy returns in the future. I keep wondering what bitcoin would rise to  in the nearest future. In past decades when it was newly introduced it all sounded like a joke, many made mockery of it in which I was one of such persons. But today we all fold our hands in regrets wishing we took hold of the opportunity when it wasn't make much impact as its doing in our present society today. If you haven't considered owning a bitcoin give it a thought today

Perhaps you need to visit https://bitcoin.org/en/faq first then read about Bitcoin's characteristics before you go any further?

It is sad that people nowadays only associate bitcoin with "investment asset", "store of value", and "profit". There is not even a word about "blockchain", "decentralization", or "censorship resistance". Is this where the future of bitcoin is heading to? I hope not.

I also expect new tools or platforms to make sending or receiving bitcoin more convenient to the public but I hope that doesn't make them ignorant of how it basically works.

i dare say this is one of the bigger problems that bitcoin is suffering from. more and more people are forgetting that bitcoin is a currency and are focusing too much on the "fiat profit" they can make from it. of course more of the damage is to themselves since this mentality of thinking about bitcoin as a cash cow only leads to their panic sells when price has a small drop or some weird fluctuations.

the only positive thing is that i believe people with this kind of mentality are not the majority.

It is no problem if people think of bitcoin with that such thing because the other people who have skills or have more knowledge will learn about blockchain, decentralization, and censorship resistance. I assume those "people" are the most common people who don't have much experience or don't have the right skills related to blockchain.

They can still use bitcoin as the payment system, to buy something using bitcoin besides understanding blockchain because that will need more learning to have that knowledge.

As long as people can know about the basics of using bitcoin, it will be okay because at least that can help bitcoin spread among them. Perhaps, there will be many other people who will learn deeper or details about bitcoin and blockchain.

We, as humans, seem to only want more and more no matter how much we have and we're capable to forget about almost anything if money is on the line. Once something becomes an opportunity to earn money, there will always be more people interested in making money out of it rather than looking into the subject. The objective a lot of people have over Bitcoin has changed long ago from "financial freedom" to "let's get rich" unfortunately.

the only positive thing is that i believe people with this kind of mentality are not the majority.
I'd argue against your point mostly from a personal experience; most of the BTC traders/investors I know bought high & sold low every time Bitcoin had a bullish/bearish run. It's usually the wealthy and smart traders purchasing the opposite way and not letting themselves be driven by emotions.

I assume that people who did not get into Bitcoin even though they heard about it early would have not held on long enough to realize the gains they regret missing out on.
I often hear people discuss the rise from about $1 to $20k, very few however discuss the time frame and fewer would be able to hold onto their bitcoins now for 5-7 years even though there is a chart history of price appreciation, much less then when the network was still at infancy.
Reason why a lot of very early adopters sold at a loss, buying back during FOMO and selling at a loss again, so while it made a lot of people rich, it rekt some others.

On the issue of what attracts investors more between value and utility;
Bitcoin is a paradigm shift in the financial system and would definitely take time to go mainstream and for regular users to catch on fully. I personally do not mind if users are primarily attracted by price speculation or product utility, they are both integral aspects of the network and are not mutually exclusive. It's almost impossible to have one without a bit of the other.

Yea, with how the association of investments with Bitcoin you just made, I indeed fold my hands in regret. I'm not against people knowing about the potential profits they can get from trading Bitcoin, heck I myself am one of them, but not knowing of what Bitcoin is before knowing of it as an investment is such a regret, especially since this stops the spread of Bitcoin in a proper notion. The fact that it's known as an "investment" also causes it to be assumingly linked to scams that use its name.

Plus, there's also the idea that regret really cannot do anything. It's funny how you said many made fun of it and mocked it, but what did they mock it for if all they think of it now is as an investment? Did they truly know what Bitcoin actually is even?

Big fact right there!
If people continues to think of it as a store of value, then I'm not sure whether Bitcoin will continue to progress its value or it might gradually lose it's value in the future.
Bitcoin's creation wasn't supposed to be that way, it's supposed to be the address what people doesn't like about traditional banking system.

There's so much more about this technology than just a plain tool for investment.

Maybe that's disturbing the true cause for which bitcoin has been developed. However if people haven't thought of using it for money making through investment, store of value and on other profiting means it could've been far behind in its widespread and growth. Those served as a platform for the circulation to happen in the market, and maybe when the entire market takes over the banking functionalities people will realise the goodness of blockchain technology.

I keep wondering what bitcoin would rise to  in the nearest future.
It will not be surprising to see bitcoin price rising more, although the price will be fluctuating in a way it will increase and decrease over a short period of time, but it will not be like that over a long period of time, I mean in a long period of time, the price would have increased very well, it is very certain that more people will make use of bitcoin in the future, which will increase its marketcap and also making the price to go higher. I took will encourage people to make use of bitcoin, to buy it, it is not like fiats that is controlled by centralized body and inflating it, bitcoin is different because it is decentralized and also a deflactionary currency.

How much was bitcoin then when you're just looking at it and not showing interest during its baby stage? being an investment, let's just embrace the reality that the majority that's in is in it for being as an asset class, due to the volatility that's going to make it as a store of value.

But today we all fold our hands in regrets wishing we took hold of the opportunity when it wasn't make much impact as its doing in our present society today. If you haven't considered owning a bitcoin give it a thought today
We can still make our present and future better by owning it today. Going back in the past and regretting it won't help you grow with bitcoin. But use that experience as a proof that you should never pass this opportunity that you have.

We cant prevent people to think that new things, new technology like bitcoin will easily accepted. Of course, criticisms, doubts are always present. Without proof, without good reputation, people will not invest on thinga they haven't proof yet. But let us leave the past and move forward with the future.

Bitcoin today has many significant use,  more people are more interested in using the blockchain technology in thier business, using crypto payments, making it as store value. One thing is for sure, the evolvement and development is progressing.

Almost everyone that has and started looking into Bitcoin is for financial gains and the purpose of Bitcoin, and checking what Yogee has linked, it has been lost, the real meaning. It has become the idea and selfish desire of people to have that monetary gain using it. It's not the goal of Bitcoin, but it's the goal of many. Suppose someone could provide data on which traders, HODLers/investors, and users of BTC to differentiate the three. Like comparing on certain factors, usage, discovery, purpose, etc. of the people, then maybe we could see the bigger picture of what state we have on cryptocurrencies.

Newbies or newcomers in the crypto world are the ones who are commonly thinking that cryptocurrency is all about investment asset, store value, and profit, I noticed that on some of my friends when we are talking about it they are just having a one thought about it which is the profit, but for all those persons who already have many experiences in the world of crypto, they discussed things about blockchain, decentralization, and censorship resistance.

Just for the reference for every beginner who are curious about those 3 things, here is the simple explanation for each term:
1. Blockchain - it is something that we can call as a spreadsheet on which it records all of the information about the transactions and each transaction generate a hash and each block refers to the previous block which makes it a Blockchain.
You may also look for this one: [Infographics] What is Blockchain and How does it work?

2. Decentralization - all of the controls on your accounts are all in you, it has no third party, unlike decentralization.

This will also help you to understand it more.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5277688.0
3. Censorship resistant - it only shows that all of us can transact with the same network on the same terms, have a look at this one for more information.

I believe everyone on the forum has an interest in involving themselves in bitcoin related transaction either via trading or investing which is obviously why they're on the forum. Having said that, I don't think this is the best place to spread such message if you're interested in reaching out to non bitcoiners. Make use of your social network, they're in need of this information more. You regret today because you didn't buy into the idea of Bitcoin been a success, you're not to be blamed thought because it sounded almost impossible.

So many, even the so called top believers or holders never had such enthusiast they have now but as they watch the currency/technology grow they had more believe. Bitcoin current success is just a start, you're not yet late to the party. Time will come when been able to own just one bitcoin will be rare, you better get your hands on as many as you can at the movement as this (Investing in bitcoin) is the best bet against the future.

We all have our regrets of not investing from the very beginning, don't let that regret repeat itself when in the future those who didn't seize this opportunity would be regretting of not owning atleast one bitcoin when they had the chance too as Bitcoin was still trading within a buying rate for one

I agree with you, that bitcoin is a good digital currency to invest in.  today it is impossible for bitcoin to drop drastically to zero again.  but I also see bitcoin going up to the moon in the near future.  so my conclusion is bitcoin a good investment choice but have to be patient looking at the bitcoin chart today.

I think anyone in crypto will do the same thing you say and there is no denying it. We all know that the Halving has passed and a period of improvement will occur in the next year. then we can be sure bitcoin starts moving at the end of the year to be able to achieve the maximum movement. bitcoin is a very profitable investment and it doesn't mean that altcoins are not good either, still as a counterweight to bitcoin altcoins are also worth investing in.

Indeed at that time many people thought Bitcoin would not be expensive for the price and they thought that Bitcoin was not a very profitable investment, so it is only natural that now they and you are very surprised to see the development of Bitcoin getting better in the future. So never judge something if you don't know about the future developments of Bitcoin, because if it's something you take as a joke and when something becomes valuable you will regret what you said.

Please don't use bitcoin if you don't believe in the underlying value. bitcoin is meant as a tool of freedom for people. Not a fast cashgrab. We don't need cashgrabbers we need believers in a better-decentralized world outside the control of the filthy government. I mean do you even know where they tax you pay goes? Not a chance. How can someone ask you to pay them a large amount of your salary and not even tell you where it is going. You should have every right to know where and how your money is spent and bitcoin gives you this freedom.

Bitcoin is for those sick of restrictions and regulations. It is a currency not an investment. If you should think of it as investment stop thinking of it from a profit point of you and start thinking of it as the point of you that you are investing in blockchain technology and everything that goes with it. Only small minds focus solely on profit.

Since the introduction of cryprocurrencies such as bitcoin in our present world, a whole lot who took advantage of it has made tremendous profits from investing and acquiring it.
With investments, you need to say about chances and risks then profits and losses. The money in the market changes hands from losers to winners, that's it.

Bitcoin with its global value currently has become an investment tool for many across the globe. It is also a means of storing wealth with the strong hope of heavy returns in the future.
Your decisions will decide you will get profit or loss, not your hope.

I keep wondering what bitcoin would rise to  in the nearest future.
It is not my financial advice but the full bull mode will only appear when bitcoin breaks its all time high.
