What sections are you looking in? I find this sometimes with meta, reputation, marketplace and a few others...

The bitcoin related boards are normally alright though for content.

I can't see a lot of topics these days. As far as I remember couple of months back, I used to see new topic every now and then. However, it was mostly in Beginners and Help board, people try to create valuable topics in order to hunt merits. However, it's good because new member can learn a lot of new things through them
 I can't see a problem with that if the topic contain some good information.

Yes OP, you can "pariticapte" in this "competation". I don't know what's the reward, but there was an idea on bitcointalk to give some badges to users as they deserve and maybe you'll get that badge. Btw you are a very competitive person (don't stop, have a snickers).

if you are pertaining the competition inside then yes it exists because most of us here are battling to get limited spots from sig/bounty campaigns lol. But if we are talking outside, if btctalk has a rival forum or whatsoever, then it's a big no. This forum just offers a wide variety of fun and knowledge, nothing more and nothing less. (But btctalk > cryptotalk, just saying ).

Nah, don't expect a money reward. But if you insist to pursue being dumb then your post might qualify on the Wall of Shame thread or you could get the highest price which is a red tag hahaha.
