Metamask just introduced the newest feature called "MetaMask Swaps" in which users can swap tokens directly from their metamask wallet. I have used it on the firefox browser and, I thought it was a pretty good addition to metamask.

That was good, I'm using metamask for a while and using to connect on some dApps especially DEX like Etherdelta, Uniswap, etc. Well it was good update on metamask since it make it easier for us to swap the token without need to interacting with each dApps for different tokens, Thanks for the information mate!

Wow, it seems that uniswap and other crypto swap platform are a new trend of having crypto with an ease and purely decentralized.

We know that no one can access metamask wallet except the owner that hold the key and the passphrase. However, I do have doubts that whenever you will going to access metamask wallet only requires your password so this maybe not really secured especially on phishing activities. Still I have high trust with metamask wallet and they provided already an app for the android smartphones

There's only few details about the slippage rate. They just that they will spread the slippage to available DEX when Metamask liquidity was depleted. The problem is there are approximate value displayed for the maximum slippage before swap confirm? If there is, this will be good because user will save tons of transaction because they only  charge 0.087% as fee.

I will try to access my metamask later and this feature seems promising if they can minimize the slippage rate.

If you get phished, that's on you and not on Metamask's security. It's your responsibility to always check that you download the wallet from the official website and that you don't enter your private key/seed phrase in random/fake websites.

yeah, but that password allow you to access only metamask on your computer, so to took your funds, one has to have that password and access to your computer, it is the same with other software wallets, if you keep your computer secure, than nobody can steal your funds with that password only

password is actually a good thing, since you do not have to put your private key or mnemonic code every time when you want to reach your wallet, as it was the case with MEW in the beginning, and without access to your computer there is not many option to get your funds with that password only

Good addition. Now, Everyone can swap their token easily and fast. I think it will affect on other dex. Because, if Everyone can swap direct from metamask, then why people with connect their metamask on other dex. What is next? Metamask going to create Liquidity Pool?

Hopefully at some point they'll integrate some DEFI into the whole concept.

I already experienced it, I liked it. Very convenient and useful, I think it will be used in the cryptosociety. Why metamask doesn't have their own coin? Or maybe I don't know about it?

In a market where competition is very active, Metamask did a great job for this one and people don’t need to use UNISWAP or any DEx to connect their Metamask wallet because they can now use their own Metamask wallet and do it on the platform alone, a very great job. Let’s see how the DEX reacts on this one, and I know they will come up into a new innovation, let’s see the next move of those DEX.

I thought this same thing a couple years ago but back then my friends said wallet is a wallet it is not an exchange but now see that many wallets are offering this.
In future we will see wallets with savings account and yield farming from within the wallets as well that is the power of decentralization.

Meta mask is already a wallet and adding the ability to exchange your  tokens there  is pretty cool idea.

Since you tried it did you see how much fee they are deducting for every exchange or swap you do?

Is it working the same as uni swap? if its the same then this wallet is a game changer .

MetaMask is one of the most comfortable wallets and that`s great that now we can swap a lot of coins and tokens directly in the wallet and get that cryptocurrencies which we really want to hold

Of course this is a good update too for Metamask users but I still haven't tried it with the swap site and it's only often for transactions, with updates like this we know it's easier to swap other tokens and this will be a great thing. .

The metamask password can only be used in the metamask extension for one browser and does not apply to other metamask extensions, I have tried it and proven that one password can only be used one metamask unless someone hacks your device and steals the phrase and JSON file. CMIIW

This is true. You need to setup again all over the metamask wallet once you used it on different extension. You need to input the recovery seed and create aswell new password on the metamask wallet. And this is sucks because the password is only protecting user on physical theft attack like if someone steal the user laptop.


All online wallet is prone to phishing because you are copy/pasting the recovery seed/private key in able to access your wallet. Hardware wallet is the only wallet that phishing free and also if you always do extra caution before you enter your credentials.

This is awesome addition and long awaited one, hopefully users will not have to move their tokens to some other place to exchange or trade now and it can be done from within the wallet. The only thing i want from metamask is to improve security further and also try to keep eye on fake metamask extensions and apps that basically work as phishing programs to steal the private keys.

If I am not mistaken, they charged me service fees of 0.875% + the ethereum transaction fees which will vary depending on how congested the network is during the time of the trade.

Why worry if you have downloaded the right and official Metamask?

I also knew it that there were fake Metamask apps but why worry if you have already downloaded the correct one. And if you do worry about phishing, you'll need to check always the source and the app.

If you ever downloaded the official Metamask, I don't see any reason that you'll get phished unless you redownload a new Metamask from a different source.

If you ever downloaded the official Metamask, I don't see any reason that you'll get phished unless you redownload a new Metamask from a different source.

Being too paranoid when it comes to security isnt bad but making yourself overway too doubting things from time to time isnt really good either.

You wont really need to worry something if you had already installed the right app as been said because you would not really require to input your keys from time to time.

Seems like Swapping feature becomes the trend now and i wont be surprised if other platforms will apply this feature too on upcoming months or years to come.

As long they do saw there's demand on it then they can easily integrate it since people do really get interested into this feature.
If fees would be lower then this is already a plus point for me.
