So it will be $0.25 a pop with a hard cap of just $1 million for public sale. I'm sure some of us here specially kids that play Atari in the 80's will love to hear this news. I'm just disappointed though that it will be on bitcoin.com, another way to promote this shady exchange specially the people behind.

It's just me getting excited about this news? @$0.25? This is quite cheap and I'm sure that during the opening of the public sale, those $1 million will be sold because of the name itself plus the branding is trying to get into crypto space specially if we are going to purchase items from them using their native token. I think this will be huge come Oct 29 for crypto video gamers out there.

Reasons to not "invest" into this:

1) its being sold on bitcoin.com
2) the atari group is entitled to 35% of the sale revenue from this sale.

I wish icos and "public sales" would just be a thing of the past.  Its the biggest scam going and people still buy into this crap.  Crypto does not need an ico, period

Besides that, I think high chance that this could be the next meme coin. Yes, Atari has a good name and reputation, but with so many competitors right now, I don't think that they can still garner the market even if. they have this public sale offering.

So investors might just buy it for the 'sake' of it, so it means it will not have a value in the long run. We shouldn't be emotional and sentimental here, again Atari is a brand name but it doesn't mean that it will spell success for them this 2020. But it's good to hear that they are still alive and doing good after all these years.

I didn't found anywhere about that " atari group is entitled to 35% of the sale revenue from this sale."
The 35% is frozen for future redeeming for the group but every of it's coins are to be spent on different aspects of the group and it's development.
They plan to burn the coins to keep decreasing the supply but there's no clear statement about what money generated from where would be used to buy and burn.
I was curious about investing there but Bitcoin.com requires more than my passport and phone number to verify an individual account.

It's just me getting excited about this news? @$0.25? I'm also getting excited, by it seems that the members are somewhat reluctant on it. Oh well, let's see if this turns out to be just a 'meme' or 'collectors coins', as other have pointed out, or if this could bring a new landscape in crypto sphere.

I am still unable to figure out what this should be solving, or what is it for exactly. Is it just a gimmick to get more funding? Yeah, i like Atari, cryptos and everything, don't get me wrong but this just doesn't make any sense to me. Or why are they using their own chain? Wasn't 2nd layer solution an option?

Hey, do you have any idea if they are asking to do the KYC procedure in order to buy the tokens now? As you said they are charging .25 on IEO and, during pre-sale it's about .16 they are providing pretty good discounts to pre-sale buyers. Nice incentives to buy now and not during IEO

But have they really developed anything in the last 10 years? I only remember them from Rollercoaster Tycoon and it's probably the only game young people know them for.

Atari was a popular platform before my time and then they turned into a rather unsuccessful game developper.

On their page ou can read they're trying to get involved in casino games and even fundraising. You can see they're doing bad financially and want to make money from any means possible and crypto hype is one of them.

I think what's left from Atari is just a brand name, which is well known for an old gamer like me. AFAIK, they haven't developed good games other than the Roller Coaster Tycoon series. The idea of the token is for in-game purchases, but what to purchase if they don't have quality new games? Plus, why use token if we can simply buy with in-game perks with the google pay balance? I don't think this is a good investment.

However, the good thing is they are a legit company (compared to most ICOs) and have actual real products.

I doubt this project would generate the hype it wants, I have never traded on Bitcoin.com and I don't know of anyone who has traded their, this is the reason why most of these IEO fail, no real exposure for the project and I don't think Bitcoin.com would help the project attract investors
